In this video we're at Smittys for Sawsquach 2023, I'm running a few top handle chainsaws - we run the Echo 355T against a brand new Stihl 201T. Bellhopper shows us a 1 minute modification that drastically improves the performance of the 355t. Totally changes the saw the results are unbelievable. Could be the best chainsaw for the money

WOW!!! This is no joke! It works incredibly well! I couldn’t believe the power the extra power. I’m going to try it with a slight bump in timing and see how that goes. Thanks for putting this video out, I have a totally different saw now 👍🏻

Awesome video!!!! 🇺🇸🪓🪵🌲🪵🪓 And thank you and Hopski for the tip to remove the baffle on the CS 355t. I just did it and I removed the limiter caps on the carb. Factory settings on the CS 355t carb screws are 2 1/4 turn for the low jet and 3/1/4 for the high jet. God Bless you guys.

Is clockwise leaner or richer on the adjustments ??

@@Bigbodysquid250x clockwise closes the adjustment screws and closes off the fuel ( less fuel equals leaner. Counterclockwise opens the adjustment screws which opens the flow of fuel ( more fuel equals richer). This principal is always the same no matter what side of the saw the adjustment screws are. Also, its important to know the the adjustment screw that is closest to the cylinder is always the low jet.

@@NickPixelTV no doubt! Just went and pulled the air baffle off my 355t and was shocked! Glad I sold my 201tc 😆 My 355t was already muffler modded and had the cap limiter tabs cut, retuned and wow 🤩

I love my Echo top handles, my 355T was running good but then not so much. It would start and idle but the second you give it any throttle it dies and the primer bulb takes forever to pop back so I thought maybe the lines are starting to get squishy and took it apart and thats where its at lol but have no time to fix it or get it back together but by the time I take it to our Echo dealer I'll be well over half the cost of a brand new one. My other is a. 303T and it sat for a while with regular fuel (not ethanol free) and it won't even start so new carb for that one.

hi there good show . had a 200T for years great saw , went to a 201 no where as good , hard to start like it is hydraulic locked . thinking of getting the new Stihl E top saw , looks like you all had a good time , now wood cookie flying contest . who can cut the thinnest and fly the furthest , best to all john

I have an echo top handle and a old old homelite. I want to pick up the m18 Milwaukee I have played with it and it feels good for what it is. I do believe it should be priced at 249 not 3 something

Yep pretty awesome. Seems to be across the board though can make a lot more power with a ICE by taking the baffles out, front and back, open it up. Let 'er eat

So on the first run the Echo's time was around 16.5 secs. After the 'mod' with the same user (black shirt & shorts) time was around 16.5 secs and everyone in the comments is going nuts. What am I missing?

Its really hard to capture on video but the saw lit up, i may have to do an exact comparison but you can tell in the wood the power difference

You can hear the massive difference in sound alone. At first I thought the Stihl just ran at a higher rpm but after the mod it sounded like the Stihl. The mods on my 355 made a huge difference.

Unless it's an analogy, both saws are nowhere close to 75 or 85 horsepower. Probably more like 2hp.
