No TED Talk yet? I guess it's obvious. Sounds like a letter to a bully. You can't get help, because they'll just hit you harder next time. When you cry, it only motivates them. So you go numb until it becomes safe to feel again. Eventually, you learn that bullying was probably their coping mechanism, and you actually pity them. It's still not an excuse, but you can't be bothered to hate them for reacting that way so you wish then the best and move on. Empathising with people can be a curse. It's worse because victims of bullying often end up forgiving them because they (the bully) was going through some stuff. They can put themselves in the other person's shoes and see how hard life must have been. At this point, the victim has probably considered suicide themselves. They may be projecting a bit, or maybe that's as condescending as they can get, because it's hard to completely forgive someone who's made your life difficult for so long. On the other hand, that may be the victim's sarcastic inner monologue that stems from pent-up resentment. This entire song could be a victim kicking their bully when they're down cz retaliation is fun (until you realise that you've stopped down to the other person's level.) I just watched a Nuclear Revenge video recently, so I say go for it... It would be pretty cool if they were praying for their bully like that song (Pray for you by Jaron and the king road to love). I pray for a lot of people myself so I'm definitely projecting. I wanna know what the AMV will look like. I can imagine “A Silent Voice” as the anime. Are there any older anime about dealing with bullies (or destroying them while laughing)?

As someone who has suffered multiple counts of abuse by family members, this song explains exactly my emotions. I gained strength and started to pity them. These lyrics are so real. This is so me when I was in middle school. When I was in middle school, I was bullied so much it hurt, I wanted to die. Every single day I would cry into my pillow because of all the things my bullies said. I would pick my skin and make my self bleed. Sometimes it got to much and I would have mental brake down. I prayed that things would get better for them, but for me it only got worse and worse as I went through middle school. The bullies made me scared of making friends and any new friends I made I would keep on a edge of friends and strangers. I hated it. I hated it so much I wanted to just cry forever. A few songs from others people and you Nico helped go on along with my friends and family. This makes me happy to know that someone is showing people that there is a reason behind the violence. I know someone earlier suggested this song is about empathizing with a bully but I just heard it for the first time and was instantaneously reminded of my abuser and how my empathy for his broken madness, grief, and (false)? remorse really helped keep me in that situation even though he was abusive before losing his mind. Not being in that situation anymore, the anger is finallly here- he may have been suffering but he hurt me in ways I can never recover, and neglected me in ways that still hurt me today. Everyone paints it like stockholme syndrome isn't real, but I know it first hand and this song is exactly what it's like.

At night i can't even sleep because of the voices in my head...and now i'm here, listening to this song for the first time in my life and the first thing i said when this song ended was...'shit....he's right..'
