My greatest achievement in my gaming career was beating Sephiroth in 1 minute and 34 seconds without getting hit, with only dodge roll and regular hits. I was able to memorize the pattern of his attacks to the point where I could predict his next 2 or 3 moves, and when he performed the Omni-Slash attack, I could evade it with dodge roll with my eyes closed.

I think my favorite moment in playing the original release of the game After losing potentially over 70 times I was able to finally beat him and after the first time I was able to beat him several times and was able to use him to max out my lvl

Ah yes. I remember going at that fight for hours. Being a kid who never played an RPG before that I was at level 49 and only used the kingdom key. Needless to say, I spent more than just a single weekend to finally grind my first victory. . . And once I had that I went again and again until I reached level 100. The most impressive thing my early days as gamer. Of course I am refering to the PS2 original and looking back at it. . . Man, was I a dumb kid. But hearing that song, the sound of his sword and that beeping sound takes me right back - even though the voice acting is entirely different from the voice I remember, it's still a bitter sweet memory.

I have a special place in my heart for Sephiroth because Zack Fair is my favorite video game character of all time.

I spammed the 2nd Tier heal spell, which in this game is the best one. Taking wand and ditching shield was the BEST decision.

I’ve been playing this game since I was 11 years old. I’m 31 now and am doing another play through. I’ve dedicated hours and hours and raged out more times than I can count trying to beat this guy and to this day I still haven’t. I’ve gotten him to half health on the last bar is as close as I’ve come. So know I mean it 100% when I say well frickin done lol.

I won this fight without strike raid. there, I said it. took many tries, and knowing how to deal with his attacks, as well. such as him using his fire pillars after every combo you land on him in phase 1 and 2, him using his slash into fire pillar combo in intervals during phase 1, and him always appearing behind you when he uses heartless angel. and then there was the technique for those attacks that will happen no matter what you do, such as air combos being easier to deal with the normal slashes, and to use BLOCK to deal with octaslash, not dodge roll.

Descend heartless angel is a bitch in this game, but is a bit more bearable in 2 because of both mp charge and drive forms (limit for final mix)
