I can see it now: You fight Act 1's boss near the bottom of the pipe. The pipe entrance seals shut behind you. No big deal, right? You beat the boss as usual, and after landing the last hit, the little sign flutters down and the boss plummets into the green gunk below and disintegrates. SONIC HAS PASSED ACT 1 Then, you hear a weird, glooping sound (Or alternatively, a warning klaxon starts to buzz). Sonic and Tails look down, confused... and see the toxic sludge is beginning to rise! Cue this kick-ass music.

Imagine the robot activating the chemical to rise on purpose on a last attempt to do his master's will. The robot is gone forever, but it sacrifices itself in order to do what Temporacle wants

So, I've listened to this about a year ago, and I tried to figure out why this one is still my favorite. This song is still such a banger for having that harmonic rhythm, the bass line in Toxic Caves in general has made this to be one of my favorite tracks, and even then this song blows the original mix of Toxic Caves right out of the water. I cannot wait to see this project finished! Great work guys!

I love the Sonic Advance reference with the zones getting icons. And I love how Blizzard Bedlam's snowflake has a clock in it! The music alone is enough to get me hyped for this game! Prediction: This level is gonna take names, unless your Tails.

@@Skyfecta I know it's probably a Sonic Advance reference but I'm pretty sure Sonic 3 & Knuckles was originally planned to have icons specific to each level. (Angel Island has the palm tree) But they did not get enough development time to make an icon for each stage so the icon for each remained the Angel Island palm tree.

“Woah, what is this?!” “Looks like we’re inside some kind of toxic waste storage tank!” “It’s rising! Get to the top, quick!” Jokes aside, I’m not sure if the reference to Power Plant from Heroes was intentional here or not, but man, this track absolutely fits the kind of fast-paced gameplay style I’d expect from a stage where you have to navigate an upward-scrolling stage. I love it.

I can imagine an intro animation where Sonic (or whoever you are playing) looks down, sees the rising goo, panics, and then hands you control. Kinda like the start of Mania's Chemical Plant.

I would add a spin dash up a incline over a semisolid platform and then the act begins and you gain control so you can gain a good headstart

Maybe a bit of tambourine during the main bits would make this perfect, for that truly 90s vibe of that generation of gaming? Still sounds pretty awesome and tense for the implied level design of escaping a flooding cave system

Honestly really think having no boss would be a weird waste. Just have a souped up scorpius at the top with the toxic goop being utilized by it for the boss fight.

One recommendation during stage development! Perhaps the end goal, once you’re out, you see the outside of Eggman’s base with the red sky and everything like the airplane shootout in the intro of Sonic Spinball? Would be an epic reference finally getting out of the caves? :)

They're all going to be remastered since most of them sound like they're being played underwater, so same songs but butter-sounding. Some will have more spice added to them though.
