@SY-ok2dqАй бұрын
@@keefriff99 He got cast opposite actresses about a decade or so older than him, in romantic storylines back in the late 80s. Well, it was his uncle's film "Peggy Sue Got Married" that started it (opposite Kathleen Turner as his sweetheart and future wife). Cage didn't actually want to do that but uncle Francis wore him down and got him to agree (Cage did it on the condition that he be allowed to play the role any way he wanted). Cher saw the film and wanted Cage to play her love interest in "Moonstruck". Both were solid commercial hits that gained a lot of public attention, so that was good for his career no doubt.

As a Brit, I remember seeing this interview the night it went out. Nicholas Cage was mostly playing the part of ' Sailor Ripley' from the film ' Wild at heart'. He must have scared Terry Wogan to death. I was so amazed by his appearance on the ' Wogan' show I went and saw the film as soon as I could and I've been a Nic Cage fan ever since. In the full l interview, he actually uses the line from ' Wild at Heart' about his leather jacket being a symbol of his individuality and personal freedom. Well he's certainly all that. Nic loves the UK and likes to live here. Occasionally seen wandering the streets of bath and enjoying a coffee by himself.

He didn't want the public to know so he used a stage last name. Uncle Francis cast Cage twice, I think. The second time, in the film "Peggy Sue Got Married", Cage turned down the role several times but Coppola kept at it and Cage finally agreed but only if he could play the role as far-out and cartoony as he wanted to make it (he wore fake teeth and put on a goofy voice, which co-star Kathleen Turner hated, fearing it would ruin the film). "Peggy Sue" became one of Coppola's biggest commercial successes in the 80s. Actually one of the few moneymakers he directed during that time.

I only read the description after the entrance and I immediately thought, "He MUST be promoting Wild At Heart." He really knew how to commit. :D

It looks as if he has been promoting it a bit too much 😆

i think what people are missing is that this was the year the movie Wild at Heart was released. So thats problably not him being himself or on drugs or cocaine, but more of playing a pr stunt to market the movie, or maybe trying some method acting haha anyways its still an entertaining performance!
