117 wins...4 losses!!! As an amateur, his record was 117-5 . Put them both together and he's 234 wins and 9 defeats!!! Lt Welterweight champ from 1968 to 1972...retired in 1975. A huge hero in Argentina...died in 2005 from heart failure at age 66.

2:22-2:26 is incredible. Nico dodges 9 punches ( 8 jabs and one upper cut) in succession with his reflexes and sense of anticipation alone, wow.
@Jason-rl7nf Жыл бұрын
Usually a fighter assumes a change in punch after the 2nd, maybe 3rd jab. This guy anticipated EIGHT jabs correctly and then anticipated on the 9th punch that an uppercut was finally coming. It might the best combination evasion I've ever seen.

To all the fake boxing fans... Do your homework. Boxing goes a lot deeper than just Floyd Mayweather. Floyd's great, one of the best, but boxing's been around for a long time and there are a lot of "key players" who made permanent mark on the sport. Here's one of them. Defense wins games is all competition sports, especially boxing. Slip a punch, cause an opening, and counter. It's a chess match.

So, what did you come up with after your research?
@Ho11is2Ho11ywood9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! Casual boxing fans need to watch this because a lot are running off at the mouth about "running" and "being chicken." Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. It's called the sweet science for a reason. Not just lighting up shit with a Bunsen burner. Defense is the most unappreciated criteria from which boxing is judged upon. I like slugfest too but the all time greats know how to properly defend.
@MuhammadBruceLee9 жыл бұрын
Hollis2Hollywood I agree! However there are some (Mayweather) that not only has a great defence but also "rides" the rules by hugging his opponents when they are throwing punches which is illegal and kills the action. I love Mayweathers slick defence and his lightning fast reflexes but he hugs too much. I prefer the likes of Hopkins, Tyson, Whitaker, Toney, Pep and of course Locche
@Ho11is2Ho11ywood9 жыл бұрын
MuhammadBruceLee It's nnot hugging. It's called clinching and it's a part of defense. BTW, Hopkins clinches just as much if not more. Ali clinched a lot too
@MuhammadBruceLee9 жыл бұрын
I know it's clinching, but the man clinged on Manny, holding on for dear life, and you can get DQ for holding, look at the fight between Tyson and Ferguson when Ferguson held on to Tyson after the big uppercut broke his nose, referee first ruled DQ and then changed it to TKO. Floyd was doing that all night on May 2
@Ho11is2Ho11ywood9 жыл бұрын
MuhammadBruceLee You're kinda exaggerating. He clinched Manny a few times in the beginning of the fight to throw Manny's attack off. After the 6th round, he hardly did it. He showed Manny a bunch of different looks to throw off his attack. When Manny pressed forward sometimes he clinched. Sometimes he check hooked. Sometimes he countered. Sometimes he let Manny throw against his guard. If anything, he clinched too much in the 2nd Maidana fight. Totally different from the Tyson fight you mentioned. You wanna see clinching, watch a Klitschko fight. Now THAT is hugging.
