Nicotine withdrawal is very real, but it is not something you have to fear! Nicotine withdrawal is marketed as a big bad thing, this in essence was the birth of the vaping industry. The truth is you have been lied to!

Nicotine withdrawal only last physically between 3-5 days. Nicotine withdrawal can not kill you, this is a fact. Most nicotine withdrawal symptoms are the result of a mind game the addictive voice is playing with you!
If you are quitting smoking, quitting vaping, or quitting chewing tobacco, and you know what to expect over the next few days, weeks, and months, quitting becomes much much easier!
In this brief video Dr. Frank discusses nicotine withdrawal and how you can be sure to avoid nicotine relapse, and achieve long term sobriety from nicotine.

Well in the first four days I noticed a lot of pain probably cuz my nerves are coming back alive when I'm feeling it and I'm more wound up then a high speed racer racing around and I can't do that because I have chronic arthritis throughout my body a fake ankle and I can't take pills for pain because I don't want my liver getting sauced up any more than it is haaaa

After 10 years of dipping and smoking, I quit both cold turkey. I’m proud to say that I’m on my 7th month of no nicotine use. After quitting, watch out for the 6th month cravings to hit. That was the most challenging time for me mentally. Your brain will tell you “you’ve been able to go without nicotine this long, and little bit right now will be ok.” Don’t give in guys.

What Ive found is I can quit for a week or two, then I think it would be nice if I could use it in moderation , rare occasions, like I do with alcohol; or I just feel bored and I want to "treat" myself, and of course it quickly becomes daily again (Zyn pouches). Im lucky because I dont get headaches or any serious withdrawal symptoms, it's just very addictive and I get cravings for the first few days of "quitting". Im still aiming to quit, it's a waste of money and despite being a relatively harmless type of nicotine, it's still bad for you.

i smoked for 15 years and overall had nicotine in my blood stream for 15 years straight. The first 3 days i actually had a friend of mine come to my apartment and monitor me / police me for all 3 days because of the brain fog and unyielding shaking and violent outbursts - It felt like my entire blood stream was burning and i wanted to peel my skin off. I also begged for ciggs and tried to leave the apartment so many times and ended up sobbing. After those first 3 days im telling you its like the withdrawal symptom car runs outta gas and by the end of the first week it was all over with and after that all you need is the resolve and if your like me looking at nicotine with disgust to never touch it again.

As someone who struggles with some pretty serious mental illnesses, as well as a recently quit nicotine addiction… I PROMISE IT GETS BETTER!!!! I think it effected me much worse due to the baseline depression and anxiety I experienced before quitting, but I was just about bed ridden for the first 3 days (got up once in a while but I was nowhere near functional) insomnia has always been an issue for me as well, but my already low sleep per night was cut in half when I quit. (I should add that I was strictly vaping, but half a novo 4 pod per day filled with 5.5% juice is a LOT of nic) On the morning of day 4 it was like magic, I think it was the first time in the last 4 years that I didn’t have to force a smile, and I found myself laughing at random things.. day 5-6 and my energy and physical strength not only came back, but I feel twice as physically strong as before I quit. Now I’m on day 9, zero desire to relapse and happier than ever. Some physical withdrawals still persisting like minor headaches and noticeable increased appetite, but I think this might just be the best I can get without serious work on my mental health aside from the nic. If you’re quitting right now, I don’t care HOW painful and stressful it is.. You’re either going to suffer for a few more days, or never reach your full potential for the rest of your life. Keep pushing❤ Edited for some tips: -You don’t need to cold Turkey like me, but at least when you’re sure you want to be fully done, throw every single thing you could use to inhale nic away and never look back. -Set a sleep schedule, and just stay in bed if you can’t sleep, it helps eventually -Do not call yourself someone “quitting nic”, call yourself someone who “used to vape/smoke” mindset helps a lot -Meditation helped me ignore the cravings -Make a lot of food when you do and store it, trust me you’re gonna want to eat again before you want to cook -drink way more water than you think you should -replace your most common vaping times (for me the morning and right before bed) with something natural that you enjoy, and do it consistently -get active when you’re missing nic a lot -never watch people who vape or even talk about vaping in their vids for the first few days, watch vids like this instead -Don’t make any big life decisions while withdrawing, you are not thinking straight, even if you “feel better” until at least 9 days, and I’ve heard it’s actually 2-4 weeks

I’m on day ten now and all withdrawal effects have gone away besides a couple **weak** cravings now and then. It was surprisingly easy for me and Im surprised with myself for sticking through the first 4 days. I only really experienced the above symptoms, a non painful phlegm cough for 4 days and cold sweats for 3 days which weren’t really noticeable besides my sweaty sheets in the morning (gross but not painful) ether way it was surprising that I could do it this long considering I chain smoked for 7 years straight. It’s not as hard as you think as long as you push through the first 4 days it really is true that those are the worst of the worst. Now I’m at the point where I have no excessive thoughts about cigarettes or smoking and can live my life normally without chain smoking or getting that spike or anxiety(craving) every half an hour. It really is freeing to not be held down by that constant 5 months nicotine fiend break.

Find something to do with your time...that is the hardest part.

But today, i don’t have shortness of breathe anymore, and i have 100% for energy! I’m laughing and enjoying the little things in life more! It’s sooo worth it! I’ve been vaping for 3- 4 years and it’s done nothing but hold me back in life and make me less confident in myself for never sticking through with my decision to quit! trust me you guys it’s very worth it. just take it 24 hours at a time. and don’t cave in!! you’re stronger than you think. avoid negative influences and your life and ignore the negativity around you! love your life the way you want.

Day one for me. I'm gonna be watching this video over and over for days, I'm sure. But the way he rationalizes everything is already helping me believe I can do this, no matter how hard it's going to be. It will be worth it. I hope from now on I can come back to this comment and remember this as the moment I decided to take my life back, say no to nicotine, and relinquish all the shame and pain that has come with it. Thank you for this video!! Update: Well it's been 15 days for me.. Day 1 & 2 were literal hell, guys. I've still been smoking vitamin and cbd vapes to cope but want to quit those as well.. But hell at least I got off the nic, right? The hardest aspects to cope with for me are my emotions in general, and my sleep. My anxiety is through the roof and all my emotions are touchy. I haven't had a solid night sleep since I quit the nicotine. Admittedly, I still think about nicotine all day every day. I went 6 years of my life without going longer than even 12 hours without smoking, probably. So maybe for some people by this point it's getting easier. But dispelling a habit you've had you entire adult life is not that easy, so don't knock yourself if you're a couple weeks or a month in and still having intense cravings. Sometimes it's not even a craving for nicotine itself, but to just feel something going into my lungs. I'm trying to work on breathing and meditation techniques to hopefully help with that aspect and get off the other vapes I've started using. This is all around a lot more difficult than I thought to deal with.. I hope there is still a light at the end of the tunnel for me. I don't see myself going back to the nic because I recognize how bad if is for my health.. But I don't see myself being any happier without it yet, if anything, life feels a lot more bleak at this point.

I was dipping 1 can of skoal everyday of my life for 16 years. Quitting smokeless tobacco was by far the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life. The first time I tried to quit I lasted 3 weeks and I couldn't understand why I still wanted it so bad so I caved in. A few years went on and I would try to quit, then cave, then quit, then cave again. Finally, I convinced myself that deep down I really wanted to quit. This time I knew what to expect. I prepared my mind and told myself that the next few weeks would be the worst time in my life and I finally quit. I have not had any form of nicotine for over 10 years. To this day I still have dreams of dipping snuff and I get mad at myself and wonder how I could ever quit again, then I'm relieved when I wake up realizing it was just a dream. It's really amazing what nicotine can do to you mentally. You have to come to grips with the fact you're giving up your favorite thing to do in life. Only then was I able to finally quit and be free of this terrible addiction.

Read this if you are planning on quitting pls. I had major success. I decided to go cold turkey and quite weed and cigarettes. I used to smoke around 7-8 cigs and the other thing was continuous for whole day. When I did decide to quit I also joined gym and swimming alternate days and planned a diet and cooked myself. Also got full time job. I haven't had a single urge to smoke anything nor do I crave or have any withdrawal effects, because I did watch many videos like this that tell what happens after going cold turkey but I haven't had a single symptom. Hope this helps somebody like me and/or motivates to quit without fearing the aftermath. I can be easy, try my way once what's the worst that can happen. And remember to announce publicly to all your friends and family so not only you have support but someone to hold you accountable and encourage when you feel weak.

Quitting vaping Day 1: Difficulty in breathing. Mucus production increased a lot. I didn’t cough but I did see blood tinge on my mucus. Day 2: Breathing was really difficult. I couldn’t eat because of anxiety. I forced myself to eat. The sweating was so reallll. My friend offered me a cig and I actually refused it Day 3: I’m on day 3 now and I’m constantly thinking about vaping but I don’t intend to relapse.

Thank you Dr. Frank. I love your videos and thank you for taking time out of your day to open our eyes & help us live longer. So much information. You helped me stop by preparing me on what to expect. No fear! I quit cold turkey 16 days ago. I can breathe better. I don't have to step away from my family, friends, favorite movie or after meals anymore to have a smoke. I feel free. The first 3 days were indeed the hardest, I had night sweats, headaches, some muscle aches & trouble sleeping but while staring at the ceiling I would think of what you said "it's the poison leaving your body". "Minor side effects or long term side effects?" I took Tylenol for the aches and pains & used gum "Trident cinnamon flavor" for the cravings. I would also visit your channel to keep me strong and I did it after 20 yrs. I did as you said and replaced the bad habit with a good habit. I reached for veggies such as celery sticks, apples and sliced oranges. I know you said 90 days but my cravings are gone. I also hope they stay gone. Thank you once again Dr. I am grateful for you.

As someone who has quit multiple times, I would say, either you haven't been that addicted or you're trying to make it seem easy so more people try. It isn't easy, I would instead advise that you show people how hard it can be, but show that in 3 months they can be very normal. I was vaping well over a pod a day, not ever getting buzzed, just making ends meet, hating life. It took my parents testing me often after catching me twice for me to fully quit. I like to consider myself relative strong minded, especially in the aspect of pain and tolerance. Nicotine can be really, really hard to quit, especially when in deep. That can be important to emphasize, and my advice to those trying to quit, is that even though I was vaping/smoking the equivalent of 2 packs of cigarettes a day, 3 weeks in I knew I couldn't give up, 3 months in I thought of nicotine less than once a day, and over a year after I felt normal. I've always thought smoking/vaping was cool, and that's still mildly all I think of it now. Being clean is somewhat of a bragging right to my friends though I do not flaunt it.

It's absolutely insane what the body is doing to try to get you To go back to the routine. For some reason these symptoms happen more often then not at night ..I guess when I'm sitting not doing much. Hope it gets better soon I stopped for a year before this so I know I can do it. Its torture. God help me get through this for me and my wife and kids.

Please look into supplements to ease and repair you while getting your control back , lions mane ,fish oils dha , nad , zinc and even ashwaganda. And if you can use a gym sauna it’ll expel any toxins very quickly you’ll feel like a million bucks only this time it’s for real no substance needed

Super helpful. Hilariously I'm watching this on day 4. I fed my nicotine cravings with sugar and binge eating for two days, and I am isolated and weird because I just had a knee surgery. I quit because nicotine can have adverse effects on healing and blood flow and the desire to heal properly helped motivate me to kick a 16 year addiction with relative ease (one which I've tried to kick countless times). I started vaping 5 years ago to quit smoking, and it worked like a charm, though the ease of use and nice flavours quickly became an issue and I started consuming way more nicotine than I ever had as a smoker. Glad to finally be on the mend, only 4 days so I'm sure there are still demons left to vanquish. Thanks for helpful video.

I quit cold turkey after watching this video back in February and i gotta say thank you because i havent gone back and honestly it was pretty easy quitting. Getting over the mental hurdle of starting to quit is hard but once you've been off it for a few days it gets way easier to notice how easy it is to not do it.

I'm almost 3 weeks deep and several times now I have been bed ridden with nausea, the runs, sharp shooting pains in my stomach or the inability to eat. From what I have been able to find out so far is that acid indigestion normal when going through the withdrawal cycle is wreaking havoc on me eating certain things especially at night. In a sense it is helpful to have it be such an awful experience, more inspiration not to flip-flop on quitting.

Just in case anyone needs this advice, about three weeks ago i quit vaping for a week. Days 1-3 were absolutely hell. I got caught in major traffic, was up working night shift till 8am listening to my patients (babies). Screaming. Mood swings and crying and irritability to the point i wanted to punch someone for three days was a thing It was awful but i got through it. Fast forward to the week after and i was sleep deprived bc of night shift. A family member unexpectedly had a mental health breakdown. It was unexpected and i vaped again to help with the intense anxiety due to this situation. It didnt help. well here i am 2 weeks later and the family member ios doing better. I got off night shift and day two hasnt been easy but ten times easier than before. Tonight i can take my sleep medication and go to sleep instead lf killing my body and mind with night shift! Yay! All this to say, the first 2 weeks of quitting make it easy on urself. look at ur lifestyle.

Try reading the Allen Carr book. Been ingesting nicotine heavily for 5 years. Read through the book, convinced me that there is no “sacrifice” quitting nicotine. I get little pings here and there but it’s been super easy to ignore it. Nicotine is easy to quit. It’s your mental approach you need to change.
