NieR capitalized the R YoRHa capitalized RH They’re just going to keep adding letters with each game until it spells RHOMBUS. Fans will then look for rhombuses throughout the series for potential significance, but secretly it’s totally meaningless and Yoko Taro just played the long con to mess with his fans.

I absolutely love how the game sets up the aliens as a big deal and dangles them in front of the player all ominously and then just fucking throws them away because they don't even matter. Like that entire plot thread was established purely to mislead you.

I, for one, am looking forward to a potential 12-part series of NieR Automata analysis videos once our lord and savior Yoko Taro finishes his second stage play, movie adaptation, drama CD, Spanish telenovela, trading card game, and breakfast cereal line.

One brief and half-baked thought I have regarding Accord: If in fact she does have or otherwise obtained timeline-jumping powers, then she and YoRHa have a potentially all powerful tool to fulfill the primary objective- to save mankind.

The cult part of 2B's path worked so well. The way the music works into the crazy action, and the reflection of 2B's role in the whole picture of the game. It was what made me change from really liking this game to loving it.

Theory: Accord is from the future of the Atomata timeline -- the resistance androids live on, eventually developing time travel and multiverse-traveling capabilities. Accord-model androids are developed, eventually becoming Time Cops.

23:05 Another thing I'd like to point about this Golaith boss fight. Yoko Taro is a BIG shmup fan, and that "fish" is a big reference to the *Darius series* , esp. the Mecha Fish boss fight. I'm pretty sure there are other shmup (and other niche genre) reference that many didn't pick up.

Fantastic. Hearing yourself and Valkyrie Aurora talking so passionately about this series and Drakenguard has made me want to dive head first into Yoko Taros crazy works. I played NieR Gestalt several times and after hearing the Drakenguard series was somehow connected to NieR I bought Drakenguard 3 on release. Sadly I failed to see much of a connection. After watching your videos I'm able to understand this a little better and I will eventually get around to playing D1 and D2.

First, as a Taro loyalist since Drakengard (oh good old PS2 love & hate torture machine) having just finish[E]d NieR: Automata (yeah I'm late, I have a small budget, sigh) , I'm happy to finally be able to watch your videos on that game. didn't want too much spoilers before having experienced it by myself, y'know. And now I just paused the video around 4:40 just to say that I interpreted YoRHa as: "You aRe Human(ity)" or something like that. As, apart from Emil and some data on the Moon, Androids are pretty much the closest thing to actual humans, and their legacy.

**WARNING: ROUTE C SPOILERS (+text wall)** About how the Red-Eye disease became the logic virus... I don't think it is a matter of the disease simply adapting to affect androids as the affected demographic is too specific for such an explanation (Only YoRHa units are affected by this!). I'd argue that it has to do with their black boxes and the machines' relevance to the Red-Eye disease. The core difference between YoRHa and other androids is their core AI (ahaha bad pun). All previous androids' AI came from what is called a fusion reactor, while YoRHa units' AI came from black boxes. As we learn near the end of Route C as 9S, the black boxes inside every YoRHa unit is made using machine cores, the central AI of every machine. We also know that the machines connected to the network at some point hold some connection to the Cult of the Watchers. Adam and Eve have their draconic armor, red eyes, and the Cult's tattoo on Eve specifically, while the machines sporting their signature glowing red eyes. Even the machines disconnected from the network in Pascal's village eventually show off the same red eyes when they go berserk during Route C of the game. Seeing this core connection (ahaha another pun) between YoRHa units and the machines, it is arguable that the logic virus that affects YoRHa originated from the machine network and was transmitted to YoRHa units through the machine cores that their black boxes are derived from. The only question left is how the machine network caught the Red-Eye disease in the first place, and I have no idea how to answer that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. You should go after Danganronpa after this series is over, especially since its one of Yoko Taro's favorite franchises. After playing through all of them (And the canonical anime that ends the original saga of the series) its easy to see why.

Not sure if you caught this but during Jackass' Research missions she mentions "android battle fever is actually quite similar to the human emotion of love" this is just speculation but if androids can't differentiate between love and bloodlust it really makes 9S' story that much more fucked up.
