I work at a company where a bunch of our focus is rereleasing old games and sometimes when i play them im like “why did people like this” and i really appreciate your love for an old game and explaining how you loved it and i just will never truly understand it and thats ok!

11:04 Why did it take 4 years to punish a war criminal? Are political leaders incompetent, do they allow the evil ambitions of their officers run rampant as long as the ends are being achieved (even if messy,) or both? No, that's outstanding writing. Or at least a good account of the politics of war.

It is not the same to watch the dreams sequences just on KZfaq or read them. The emotional expression when you do them as a continuous flow just by playing the game is a superior experience.

i loved the dissidia games... by come on! only letting me play as feral chaos? i wanted to also play as Chaos (regular mode) and Cosmos... in NT i was hoping to play as Materia and Spiritus as well... oh, well... a guy can dream...

I want them to remake 9 not because I think it will do it justice to my experience with it, but because we live in a world where most people only bother looking at the newest stuff and I want them to have a chance to play 9.

you know they couldve made it so the nobodies had like, more emotions instead of the other way around to explain why they all act like angsty teens rather than emotionless robots. like, it was their story they didnt have to say they had no emotions then come up with an excuse as to why they had emotions but definitely didnt have emotions. just, idk, make it so theyre like tinkerbelle (you know, a disney property) and that they can only experience one emotion at once and they experience it very intensely. that way all the drama and angst can stay but theyre still also emotionally "incomplete" because they experience emotion in a less complicated but more out-of-control way literally just one idea for what they couldve done. its so weird that they did it this way lol its like saying "all of these magical people are named bob and if they tell you their name isnt bob thats just them pretending to have a different name, which everyone calls them, they identify with and respond to and is what theyre known as by everyone else" you couldve just not named them bob and im not sure why you had to do it that way in the first place

It's a shame your passion is great games that I want to play and haven't yet played. Watching your Drakengard/Nier videos was SOOOOO good because I already played them. I want that for these others, too. :/

A fun detail about adding the decision for the emotionally romantic relationship between Caim and Angelus. I Can't remember the citation, but reportedly, they designed the dynamic intentionally to resemble a young man dating an older woman.

This is without a question one of my favorite games of all time, and feeling nostalgic for it as i started up bravely second again(ive full cleared this game twice) i decided to watch a retrospective, and this video is genuinely fantastic. Its through, well voiced, funny as hell, and i look forward to seeing more content, which i will do shortly, as im 3 years late to this party lmao

After the bastardization of VII and them completely throwing out the message of the OG game, I do not want them to come anywhere close to touching IX. They already ruined one of my favorite games; please don't let Square destroy another. IX was my first introduction and VII made me feel less alone in coping with the death of a family member, who's not yet died at the introduction of me playing IX. But it was still my first and no less important to me.

As a kid I had access to heaps of awful video games, and I still loved them. My family and I had really low standards for games and could find enjoyment out of anything. Hugo 1 was the only exception to this. We played awful games and raved about how great they were, but we always spoke about how Hugo 1 was the worst game ever. Hugo 1 was a special kind of terrible.

I want the bosses of FF9 to be harder and to not suck. (Zidane's Trance power are far too stupidly broken, and it takes forever to Steal everything from a boss while it kills me). I want support spells like Protect and Shell to last more than 15 seconds, and I want status effects to not suck. I want to game's ATB to run faster because even at max speed and Auto-Haste it still runs like Molasses. I want the Heat status to not kill my character if I already queued my attack beforehand (at least let me do the action and THEN kill me) I want getting max rating in the card game (esp. grinding the cards from P/M to A and X) to take forever. I want the minigames like Jumprope to not me timegated and tedious. I don't want to kill my characters when i try to attack them out of confusion. The story is fine. The characters are great. I like that the characters actually have identities and magic/skills belong to the characters and they aren't just copy/pasted. I like that Garnet and Eiko are different characters even though they are both White Mage/Summoners, just like Rosa and Porom were different. I like that Steiner is male version of "Female Leader of Male oriented profession". That's something I did not see anywhere else. I like that all the explosions and death and bad stuff happening is actually taken seriously on a personal level and not just treated like a disaster movie. There is lot to like about ff9 but its a bit too easy and the sidequests tend to be way to tedious sometimes.
