I heared "i love you die"

In that context it means that the person is emphasising his/her love for you, it mean he/her is deeply in love with you. He loves you so much

@@collinsokon9583 😍yea he does. 😂 But it sounds opposite. Pidgin is tricky.

Yes😂 it can be tricky. We use “die” to emphasize how strongly we like or love something. For example: if I say “this food sweet die” It means the food is extremely extremely delicious. If I say : That handbag expensive die” it just goes to show how extremely expensive and luxurious the handbag is. I hope this helps❤️

I like your channel. I teach English. It’s my passion. I love how you explain the pidgin spoken in Nigerian. I watch a lot of Nigerian movies on KZfaq. Because of your channel, I’m understanding the dialogue much better. I’m Jamaican. It would be interesting to have a collaboration to show and explain the similarities between Nigerian Pidgin and Jamaican Patois (pronounced ‘patwa’).

Hi @valeriejackson Omo is actually the Yoruba word for "Child", so you're right!! I know that in AAVE the word "child", or more precisely "Chile!", is also used as an exclamation expression. I guess in that sense the usage is exactly the same!!! Ain't that something?

So omo is like omg?
@pidginlovers
@pidginlovers 28 күн бұрын
So you can use Omo in different ways. Omo can be used at the beginning of a conversation when speaking to a close friend informally… just like saying (my friend, or damn) It can also be used to express shock (that’s where the omg! comes in I guess) It can also be used to express stress… as in: omo! I don taya (meaning… mehn! I’m tired or exhausted)
