My late mom hailed from a historic place The city of Lahore, it's inner core A city walled with thirteen magnificant gates Her's was the most auspicious, the Lahori gate I traveled from a city afar to revisit the place To rejuvinate the time, where she was nobly raised I came here often, in my adoloscent days Holding her hand tight, clinging to her grace Now as I stride inside the Lahori gate I stop breathing with awe, feelings so blate The memory flashback gush inside me late I sniff the air and try to meditate Trying to feel the ramnacent of the air breathed by my mom The alley as holy as angelic was my mom I felt as if she watched me right now The thought made me pray slowly with a small bow As I took a last look before I turned around With a sad heart, loneliness surround O' please remain witness that I came once more The insanity of the world so difficult to endure She used to wonder if her mother would accompany the angel death Same is now my imagination, when I'll take my last breath!
