Ehsan it has been fascinating to observe the evolution of your music over the last 2 or 3 years, and how it is influenced by the instruments you encounter (from a Buchla to a Symphonic Organ, from a real drum kit to a Digitakt, from a Moog One to a Novation Summit....). Quite a journey, but always full of great surprises. You have a unique ability to extract the best out of any instrument you get your hands on. A true inspiration

These are beautiful moody pieces very much in your style and some crazy fast tempos while being mellow at the same time. Absolutely love it. Makes you want to dance.

I'm amazed at how time flies in this set, I'm 8 mins in and it feels like the beginning of the song haha. Amazing work, I'll definitely be checking out more of your stuff.

Also, fuck that Buchla. Haha. It needs a module that makes it conform to 12 tone scales.

GREAT SET!!!! Thanks for posting. Please consider a breakdown of the gear used. Cheers

Cheers, what would you like to know? It's super simple - Digitakt sequences everything and plays drums, buchla 200e, moog system 55, moog Sirin, ob6, Waldorf iridium, that's it!

@@EhsanGelsi Thanks for the opportunity. How do you get each instrument to do different things from the Digitakt? Midihub? what kind of splitter do you use. The transitions are always really organic feeling.
@EhsanGelsi2 жыл бұрын
@@josephfelice601 No probs, ask me anything :) I just have each instrument assigned its own MIDI channel, and run a daisy chain from Digitakt through all the synths - super basic. Something like Takt->Iridium->OB6->System55->Buchla. No splitter in use here. But using a THRU box would just achieve the same result. As for the transitions, that's just the compositional approach, I dig holes in the composition as I go so that when I switch patterns it'll progress the music nicely enough, advance the dynamics and occasionally change the key etc. As I usually write the whole set in a linear fashion, I'm always looking to key and rhythm changes to keep the thing diverse as it evolves, but as I've been mindful of relative key changes, I can actually pretty much load any pattern from the whole set and it's going to more or less 'work' - even if it's now how it was written to progress.

@@EhsanGelsi I really appreciate when you provide insight into your musical process and methods. Gear is one thing, and lots of people can do that, but music is another :)
