I don't understand why he always release the herald behind the turret, won't it do more dmg and would be easier to defend if he released it in lane? what am I missing?

it keeps shelly from accidently locking onto minions and stalling, along with the fact he is behind tower to pincer for a dive if anyone is hiding within its range. hes not trying to push with herald, just get the plate charge damage so thats a factor.
