The Raider way, according to John Madden, was 1) be on time 2) pay attention when the coaches are talking 3) play like hell on Sunday. It's pretty simple; let the players be themselves as long as they are all in for the team. It wasn't about dress codes and haircuts, it was bout being committed to excellence in everything you do. Pierce was on the "helmet catch" Giants team.

Also Pat dropped 31pts on those bums before that flukey ass Week 16 game. Also if you take away their flukey 63pt outing against the Chargers they averaged 17ppg. y'all hired your version of Romeo Crennel a bad coach who "guided" a bad team to a handful of fluke wins and made him your head coach. If the Raiders new gameplan is to wait for the Chiefs to shoot themselves in the foot twice a game while not completing a pass after the first quarter themselves, I'm afraid he'll be out of a job in a couple of years.

They had 3 winning seaons but. Al Davis was always the GM and Gruden was the coach. After that SB those 2003-6 years were absolutely terrible. Lombardi had little to do with that success and even told Davis Moss had lost his speed. There is no way this isn't personal for Lombardi as Pierce not only sanitized the Raiders team of the "patriot way" stench and fired his failson. He also was part of thar Giants team that upset the Patriots perfect Superbowl season and put his chest out after the one. I mean there was a lot of subtle "know your place boy" hate from Lombardi's rant.

When Lombardi was with the Raiders, he wasn't the GM. Al Davis was the GM. Lombardi was Senior Personnel Exec or something like that. With how much a control freak Al was, I doubt Lombardi did much of anything with the Raiders. What AP is talking about IS the Raider way, he's the first coach Mark Davis has hired that Al Davis would be proud of. AP preaches being respected over being liked, playing with ill intent, allowing players to be who they are. This is Al Davis' mantra the reimaged in 2024. If Lombardi doesn't realize that, then he truly wasn't listening when he was with the Raiders.

Raiders had 3 playoff seasons from 2000-02. Before the Tuck rule and the Gruden Bowl, there was the Belly flop vs the Ravens in the AFCC game when Tony's fell on Gannon. Shay was on the Ravens that game.

Here’s how I perceive the Raider way and where the main intention of AP is headed. It’s in the fandom and filling up Allegiant with season seat actual ticket holders and not resale ticket buyers going to see the visiting team because the record has sucked early in the season. It’s a rejuvenation of what we already know and Lombardi is a bee yatch! He don’t get i and never will. The Raider way in Compton was legit and it’s still legit and the Oakland and L.A. fans will respond and represent!!!
