I'm a therapist (mentally ill myself) and one of my clients who has Oppositional Defiance Disorder (which honestly is overdiagnosed, but this time it has merit) loves this song! It was a great moment when we realized we were both into nightcore, and we've been able to explore feelings of anger and bottling up emotions and shame and expectations and exceptions and being future-oriented with this song as reference!

@@nasra999 I see all ages! I have a 70 year old client (love her), a six-year-old client (he screams and is precious), and many teenage clients who I adore. I now go into a high school to do therapy twice a week! I used to say I'd never work with teenagers, but once I was at the high school I quickly realized that I had those feelings because I thought I'd be treated as an adult therapist who works at a high school in the same way I was treated when I was a defenseless and mentally ill teenager forced to go to high school. Now teenagers are actually my favorite age group! I was introduced to nightcore by SO MANY anime AMVs when I was a teenager, so I've been listening to it for about a decade now!

ok this is coming from a person who thought about it a lot.... stand up. fight back. the world sucks yes but your strong. People need you. even if you don't know them they will someday need your light. You may me scared and broken. I know how that feels, trust me i do. But if you just hold on, of you keep going for one more day some day you'll be staring death in the face and you'll laugh. Your not alone, your not weak. Even if your crawling keep moving. even if your covered in scars and blood hold on. scream if you have to but fight. Your not a freak, your not a monster, your not alone, your may be different and trust me i get it that hurts like hell. Heck! your whole life may feel like Hell! but keep going. Your life is worth more then you know, your worth more then you know. People who laugh at you don't know you, they only know how to hurt you. There words are empty and pointless, your stronger then they are. Keep fighting solder, keep moving forward. You can do this, its gonna be ok. I know that sounds stupid but it will be Ok if you just keep going. Even if you have to block out everything you can feel keep going. Thank you. Usually I’m the one who spreads positivity, tells other people how much they matter, and although I’ll never know them, they are a person to me, and I’ll miss them, somehow. I forget to take my own advice, and it’s hard to do so. I don’t have it too bad, but lately I’ve been feeling invalid with the people I felt most myself with, the bad outweighs the good. I’m not gonna have a rant about myself lol. I needed this, thanks. The thing I said about the people I try and help becoming people to me that I care about works both ways, and although I might not remember your username, I’ll remember that you are helping people with this comment.

Edit:Uhm hey, this isn’t the actual actual meaning, I just tried to use the letters to make something that made sense with the song..sorry if my comment was offensive in anyway. i just listen to her spelling it out as odd. i don't know what the clinical definition is but i've been that way my whole life. college was fantastic because i finally found other people like me. grew up in a small town and i am not in the normal range pretty much anywhere on the charts. i did have good parents so i didn't flip all the way out and shoot people but when columbine happened i was like i understand their motivation.

Basically the short version of this disorder is well named. Because you're really behaving strangely and... seem, yeah "odd" in general to others. So you can take it literally like this but it has a deeper meaning behind.

What made my heart melt was yesterday a boy and two boy were walk home the two boys started to punch the boy and took his stuff and threw them on the floor the boy sat on the start crying and the two boy laughed so hard and walked away.. I wish I did something but I was in a gosh damn car!

I have ADHD and I can relate to that song so much. When I was little, I was such a monster and nobody wanted to be my friend... Over the years people changed me, saying "sit still", "wait this out", "you need to pay attention to others" etc. Today, I have a few great friends and I am a top-student and a family that loves me... Nightcore Lover odd is different than O.D.D, O.D.D is obedient deficent disorder meaning I don't follow directions from very many people without a fight or a snarl of hurtful words and, most the time I can't control it. I used to just be odd now I wish I was only O.D.D
