This song gives me Flashbacks to when I was a suicidal eleven year old, banging my head against walls so hard my vision went white, and having psychotic breakdowns on the daily. I was an elementary school kid, dealing with the worst of a bad roll in genetics. I used to listen to this song on loop, because I felt every word so deeply. It was almost a hyperfoxation to itself: the self glorification of my trauma as a young child trying to cope. I still struggle with the habits I set up back then, and revisiting this song, I just want to hug the little girl I used to be. I want to thank her for going through what she did so older me could flourish, but she never deserved what she gave herself. Here's to you, younger me.

im starting to realize that a story goes on between this. Two people are arguing in the songs lyrics. One of them is about to commit suicide while the other person is telling them to not do it. Hence the words "It's not the answer," and "But I can't carry on, cause I got nowhere and no one." The person whose trying to commit suicide is bringing themselves down, telling the other person that they're a bad person, or worse, a devil. Hence the words: "DEVILS DON'T FLY!" "so don't expect me not to fall..." The person explains how they thought that God was never with them, but the truth is, He was. It's possible that they could've had a vision that they were walking in a desert and they saw two sets of footprints, but at the darkest moments of their life, they only saw one set and they didn't bother to ask why there's only one set. But then the one trying to save them says that "Angels are not supposed to fall, and you were the loveliest of them all," which is what stopped them in the end thats my interpretation...
