Mystique was married to a German lord and had an affair with Azazel and got pregnant by him. When she was giving birth her powers gave out from the pain. She changed back,Kurt was born looking the way he does. They got chased out by the town as demons. Mystique dropped Kurt off a cliff in a river so she could get away. Azazel was long gone. People should give extra little details like that.

Yeah. That’s what I loved about him as a character. He chose to be a man of God despite how people treated him for his looks and in more ways than one, he showed his humanity through his faith. He even led wolverine back to God in the X Men tv series.

And one of the gentlest souls in x-men yet strong in his convictions. What could others in-universe really say? He walked the walk and had scorn every day but chose the path of Christ instead of bitterness

@@dbears1603 Azazel's situation with that dimension is closer to Magik's with her own (Limbo) : Both are mutants who rule over a specific place they're not native to because they are the most powerful magic users there. No demonic attribute is involved. The biggest difference between Azazel and Illyana tho is that while she was kidnapped as a child and couldn't leave until she gained enough magical knowledge to escape, he was locked up in the Brimstone Dimension as an adult with a lot of magical knowledge and couldn't leave due to a man- made seal on the dimension itself which requires specific things to break. The reason he can only leave his (temporarily) is because of his very own mutant ability to teleport.

The one where Destiny shares Mystique around with men so that she can "create a messiah" that they didn't even need. The one where Rogue loses her entire purpose for being adopted.

Yes he had no powers and he was a boy. Mystique's running theme was she wanted a girl and she wanted a girl that was powerful but looked normal so she could live a somewhat normal life. Rogue ticked all those boxes. That's why the retcon is effed up. Well it isnt the only reason

Doesn't matter though because when the first wrote it it was perfect and completely on brand character for Mystique. They only made it worse doing Azazel and then an even bigger mess retconning it to a futanari storyline AND removing Mystiques on brand character actions. They basically killed the storyline.

Robin is from DC comics and Nightcrawler is from Marvel comics. Two different universes, so no they would never encounter each other.

Different franchises but now I wonder how cool it would be for them to team up. Lots of acrobatics from both of them. Dick has the intellect, gadgets, training from Bruce and hand to hand fighting ability. Kurt has the swordplay and teleportation. They both would do well together I feel, especially in the shadows

​@@1step11jump Azazel is very much a mutant : He is referred to as one by most characters and managed to walk through Gates that only allow mutants in no problem.

They're all retcons that no 1 really cares for. The original story is what people remember and works perfectly. Making Mystique a futa and even caring for Nightcrawler was even worse than the Azazel retcon. Having the OG and on brand Mystique is what gave the story such a powerful and yet tragic story. Now it's a jumbled shitfest and counter-productive with her character. Thanks modern comics for continuing to just shit on everything.
