Ahhhhh, that makes sense. Shit. Seemed pretty strong, but I just figured because he can cast all of the spells he would be able to get them on him as well. It wouldn't have affected this game, but yeah the big boy not being able to get it is much worse in general. Thanks for the comment! :)

Why not? Nagash warscroll says so under Wizard section. Nagash doesn't benefit from "army's allegiance abilities" but knows all the spells from the spell lore. Also because if not how can he cast up to 6 spells?😊

@@danieleagueli6490 he can cast the spells but he cant be affected by shademist because it sates nighthaunt unit. nagash has no faction keyword

I, too, am a Nighthaunt main. I really enjoy seeing battle reports featuring the spooky boys! It's nice to see what they can do in the right circumstances.

Honestly I wish we had of played another turn or two out in hindsight, just quickly trying to scrape for some objectives.

For me there's a difference between games like this. Where just everything goes the way of one side due to luck of the dice. It's entertaining to see and discuss which pieces falling caused the strongest domino effect. And games like virtually every single Idoneth game that ends in turn 2 or 3 when not played against the maybe 3 or 4 tournament lists that can withstand them. What is there to discuss? Sharks killed everything in their back-to-back activations. Nothing was left on the board, nothing could hide from their 14" move or Reavers 26" threat range in shooting.

Yep, haha. I wouldn't listen to complaints about short games and match ups. Your reports are the best because you play more competitive than most others.

To be fair we weren't running 30 Fusiliers or the Command Corps, which are two of their strongest units. That said no army should be forced to take certain units to be any good, and means the internal balance of the book is out of sync.

The reroll can only be done in your own charge phase, the triumph can be done in any charge phase!

@@SeasonofWar No that is not true, you can use it in any charge Phase Forward to Victory You can use this command ability after you make a charge roll for a friendly unit. That unit must receive the command. You can re-roll the charge roll for that unit.

@@Risinng72 just doubled checked - the core rules have it as you say, but if you look at the quick reference on the back of the GHB it's under a header of 'Your Charge Phase', definitely odd!

@@SeasonofWar probably because GW didn't think about charging in your opponents turn when they wrote it, kind of of like how you can unleash hell if you get charged in your own charge phase

Zenestra isn't a wizard, she's a priest. She tried to chant a prayer. But they army list label is wrong, Tenebral Blades is on the Sorceress unit.

I honestly miss it when I play other games. Does it have an impact on matches at times? Of course. But it adds so much depth and strategy to the game and every decision you make, which I find super enjoyable regardless of how things go, and strategy can always overcome it. In this game for example, I could have kept the rest of my army further back, and only push the Wildercorps Hunters forwards, which would mean the NH wouldn't kill my screens turn 1, and on the double that's all he's getting. So it was my poor positioning that lost me the game, not the priority roll.

no he can. Rules said : IF you pick a spell from the lore of the Collegiale arcane for this unit, it must be transmutation of lead. But hoarfrost spell is generic for this season.

Killing your opponents army does seam to be a good way to score well & make it tough for your opponent to tho

Double turn has nearly nothing to do with it. I tabled opponents in 2 turns in 40K more than in I have in AoS

The double turn is a garbage rule. Try putting it in any other game or sport. Its just lazy and silly.

Priority rolls exist in a ton of other game systems, including the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game which many people tout as GW's best system. In AoS 3e you don't get to just take your turn while your opponent eats chips. There's interaction in every phase of the game, and the way that combat resolution works means that you can't just charge with everything and expect to sweep the field. The roll-off alone didn't break the Cities, failing to trigger buffs left them vulnerable and the Nighthaunt pounced. Even then, those countercharges could have absolutely shattered those Bladegeists, but the dice just didn't go that way.

The play was to get the spell with the sorceress so that the warforger could not cast and get the +1 save aura given the threat of a double turn. That miscast ment the warforger had to cast to get the tactic sacrificing the +1 to save. I think it was worth the risk, sometimes dice just do their thing hahaha
