If you rent, you still have the same problems, just a new wrinkle to deal with. You go from a house you can't afford to fix, to an apartment where the landlord won't fix it.

This isn't anything new. My rent soared in 2018 which is why I bought a home in a different state in early 2019. I'm retired, so I didn't need to stay at a job, but I had the same problems in the eighties when I was working all the time.

Student safety and studies at educational institutions take precedence over any protest EVER! And show other students and their families respect and peace to enjoy celebrating their hard work via graduation. If you want to influence volunteer for one of the aid agencies... or create one..??

To that woman complaining about repairs of her giant dilapidated house - why did u buy such abbold and big building if u had no means to restore it? We bought a normal size house, did some renovations - 10 years later it still does not require any new renovations or repairs or whatever. Changing a light bulb is the only thing we do. U buy what u can afford, not buy something and then complain.

They are just doing their job and enforcing the law. Their job is probably one of the hardest jobs to take on in every aspect. But they should be available for emergencies [car accidents, domestic violence, robberies, shootings, murders, etc] not for protesters who are camping out on campuses that just want to be heard and seen. That is not an emergency.

Listen to the actual story. She had to balance her education with her duties to her family. It sounds like it took longer than just two. This is common for adults in college. Besides that, though, you really gonna use a feel-good human interest story meant to end a segment about war, natural disaster, the housing crisis, and hate crime on a high note as the evidence that NBC lacks integrity?

What is that student being carried off campus by those enforcement officers screaming about? They are not harming her, they are simply carrying her, and she's howling like they're skinning her alive. They told her to leave, she chose not to leave, they told her they would remove her, she chose not leave...so they simply picked her up and carried her out...that's it. They didn't even drag her, they lifted her and carried her. What else did she think was going to happen? FGS, sing a protest song while they carry you, or chant your slogans. But that display? Yeah, that's not winning you any points with anybody, not even your own side.

If graduations should be held in the same place, then it shall be postponed to a day in June due to the pro-Palestinian protests. Some may coincide the Pride parade; LGBT people are forced to attend the graduation to miss the parade most likely exclusively this year.

Condo crazy in the sunshine state. Been here almost 3 years. Moved 3 times. Going on almost 10 thousand dollars on roof assessments. That is probably more than what I paid for my college tuition in the 70s and grad school in the 80s. Yikes. I am 68.

I have been around for a pretty long time, and an amateur stargazer and astronomy geek, but every time the news starts hyping these Northern Lights... I look up and up many times at night, and no matter what state I've lived... I see NOTHING. Going to bed 🙄.

@@sleeplessaquarius - Those photos ARE amazing! But remember, depending on various filters that can be employed, what you see on film may be more than what you see with your own eyes. For instance, where I was, I could see very VERY faint waves of color against the dark sky, but when I used my iphone to set up a photo, the lights were much more pronounced thru the camera's lens. Turns out whatever filter is standard on the phone receives more light that the human eye does!

They get way too much days off, just like Joe Biden. Most people in the USA gets only 3 weeks early in their Career and 5 weeks towards the end of their Career.

The fact that owning is more expensive than renting right now is just an illustration of how dire the housing situation in this country is, because renting is also dire.

@@carsonm7292 ...and the situation will only get worse. as more people ditch buying or owning a home and decide to rent. There isn't;'t an infinite supply of rental homes and apartments and the developers along with rental corporations know that.

Yeah, I can’t believe how much it cost to put a spark plug in one vehicle yeah I’ve been putting brakes on a car $35 per side. I think I’m gonna have to change it to three or $400 per side, but I’ll try to help.

Sick and tired of corporate greed, and then having politicians twisted around and call it inflation, it's not inflation, when is enough money enough money for these corporations, Walmart one of the largest corporations out there, has more people that work there on government assistance in any company in the United States

When steam engines were invented in the 19th century, there were many explosions of the boilers due to inferior metals. The insurance companies, to reduce their liability, developed a code of standards called ASME. In order to insure pressure vessels, manufacturers had to meet these standards. If you look on any tank that holds pressure, it has an ASME stamp. Today the insurance companies should develop standards for construction of buildings that would make them fireproof, hurricane proof, tornado proof, or tsunami proof depending on the location. If the manufacturers do not meet these standards, they should be denied insurance.
