So true about the airport workers. Ticket counter, gate agent, flight crew, etc. Thank them and make them laugh and they will appreciate it.

That disarming technique of saying the most absurd thing you can muster works like a charm! I was in Customer Service for a bit right out of college and you can stop most tirades with deadpan delivery of absurdity.
@derion6840Ай бұрын
You are absolutely correct. I'm the same way when disarming them because they already expect us to act like a hole. I've received really good service by being polite and understanding of their job duties.

Yep I live in Birmingham and I can completely agree it’s so many male and female Karens roaming around this city. I remember me and my ex wife got into a road rage incident in Hoover when we first moved here and my ex was from Jacksonville Florida and I’m originally from New Orleans but in college at uab and the lady started swearing on Bear Bryant and my ex was like who is that. She told my ex not knowing who Bear Bryant was is the same as not knowing who Jesus Christ is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 from that point on I was just like yep 👍 yall got it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Ha Gary reminds me when I was in Tampa waiting for my flight back to DC. There was a guy getting ready to board another flight on the phone talking loud enough everyone in that general area could hear his conversation. Basically he was talking to another guy at his destination telling him “I’m gonna kick your ass soon as we land in Phoenix. We are boarding now but soon as I get there I’m coming to your house and kick your ass tough guy. You are tough now but soon as I get there we’ll see who has the bigger balls.” I died 😂

Haha, you let him live rent-free in your mind, which is why you ended up sitting right next to him! The universe knew you needed a challenge. 😂 I can only imagine how I would have handled that scenario. Sometimes when I’m at the airport, I notice the people I’m flying with. If I pay particular attention to someone, it just so happens that I end up sitting near them on the plane. It’s ironic.

What is it about air travel that turns some people into the most entitled, self-absorbed a-holes known to man?! Story/essay time: I work in an ER and, on a flight a few years ago (just before the pandemic) they did one of those "is there a doctor on the plane?" announcements as we were going on a well-earned break. Hubby and I looked at each other with a "FFS, we're on holiday!" look (we're both ER docs) and did "rock, paper, scissors" to decide who was going to "volunteer". I lost... ☹️ So, up I go, and there's a woman who appears to be having a panic attack. Crew are concerned it's something more and want to know if they should divert. I give her a once over and ask a few questions. Found out that edibles make her paranoid, muscle relaxants made her dizzy and give her migraines, and alcohol makes her heart race. She knows all of these things, has apparently known them for years... So she ingested all of these things just before getting on the plane... 🤨🙄 This meant that she had knowingly caused her symptoms, and the main risk was OD, rather than anything serious. Found out how much she'd taken and realised she was fine, which made the whole thing seem really odd. Then I saw her face light up when the crew member mentioned the airport they wanted to divert to, and I realised that the symptoms were "worsening" whenever I was close by and easing off when I walked away. BS detector was detecting sh-t. So I spoke to the flight attendant in private and asked if the flight we were on was cheaper than a flight between our departure point and the place they were considering diverting to. She told me that no direct flights operated between those two airports... And I clocked what was happening. Cheeky mare was putting all of our trips at risk to create her own direct flight, by faking a "medical emergency". Relayed my suspicions to the crew and told the attendant to start saying that they wanted to divert to a totally different airport and got hubby to come over and watch from afar. As soon as I "went to talk to the pilot" she was completely fine, not struggling, demeanour change, symptoms disappeared, seemed really happy. As soon as the attendant told her it would be a different airport, the patient became rather combative. "Batsh1t" would be more accurate. Went from almost fainting & "I'm so ill" to threatening a full-on smackdown of everyone around her. Unsurprisingly, she was restrained. Air crew contacted the airport she wanted to go to, and this wasn't the first time she'd done this. Apparently, she'd done this with another airline and they suspected she was faking but couldn't prove it. This b1tch was prepared to ruin hundreds of people's trip/holiday/etc, so that she could get a direct flight to where she actually wanted to go. Instead, she flew to the actual destination and the police met her at the airport. Apparently, they discovered that all her reservations, etc, were for the airport they were going to divert to. Not a damn thing booked at the destination. Those diversions cost the airlines a fortune in landing/take off fees and delays. Gary is right - play fair with people and they'll play fair with you. I was very happy when I saw they'd upgraded hubby and I for our trip home as a thank you! 🤩😎

That is true for Government officials but not for private business owners. You can flip off police because they are paid by our tax dollars and are suppose to be non-partial. You can’t flip off private workers as they are doing their jobs for a private business and not expect retribution.

Can we chill on the Karen name it's some nice Mothers (mine included), Grandmothers, Co-Workers who are loved and cared about with that name. It's a lazy reference to categorize others nagging BS.. Secondly, that wouldn't make you a "Karen" you would've been right to stand up for the attendant if you wanted to but even the Sorry that happened to her was well mannered bro, Cooler heads always prevail! 🤝📈💯📜
