@gokrill the batcave with the lights, is the Bat Bunker from The Dark Knight. It's his temporary base until the Batcave/Wayne Manor is fixed.

it seems way more fun roaming around arkham city with nightwing than bats, nightwing with all the parkour and acrobatics. That is awesome man.

I like the way he has to use the line launcher to traverse Arkham City. It makes him seem sneakier. I hope they release a DLC pack that unlocks freeroam for Robin and Nightwing sometime in the future.

@CheeseBuscuits From what I heard, Nightwing doesn't actually have wings. He uses an actual type of glider to glide. It was just in Batman: The Animated Series and The Batman that gave him those wings. (I think)

@KurtCobainologist PC game had Catwoman's story incorporated directly into the game working parallel to Batman's Story. Console versions had to use the DLC code to get her and play the missions on the side. Which works with what you want on both times. You said it would be okay if it was a side thing or works parallel to Batman's. lol

You must start a new game to use Robin or Nightwing in Story mode in which case it automatically starts in Free-Roam Mode (Which is after the story is completed)

Becomes they are ongoing pre-recorded announcements playing in the background. It's like that when you beat the game normally.

In the animated series, Nightwing can glide using retractable blue fins under his arms , this was the inspiration for Batman Beyond's gliding method . Shame they didnt include this wonderful detail in the game .

I'm all for a 3rd Free-roam Batman game, but I'd like a choice between Batman, Nightwing, and Robin. They all have very specific move-sets and gadgets. In fact, a persistent savespot would be nice. You switch out from Batman to Nightwing/Robin, it remembers where Batman was last so you can just switch back on the fly, seamlessly.

@bloodsolder01 He could glide in the cartoon and in the comics using wings under his arms. actually in the comics it was him that changed the batman and robin capes so they could glide

@DrewSmith95 Actually Nightwing can only glide in like 2 cartoons. He isn't supposed to glide. He uses an actual glider like the one Leonardo da Vinci designed.

No, you have to create a new save for the changes to be affected. It automatically acts as if the story is completed and goes into free-roam mode.

@Eddy01741 When you change the file the changes aren't made to your current game. You have to create a new game and that new game automatically starts at the very end of the game, AKA free roam mode.

actually, in the series and other places too, nightwing has had a sort of pop out squirrel suit type lining under his arms that he uses to glide, so i think it was kinda wack they didn't give it to him here

@701765 Yeah, isn't it obvious with the "F" button for grappling. The "Space" button for pouncing and the layout of the gadgets? Also it's a mod as it says in the description.

I've beaten this game numerous times, I really wish I could play this. Nightwing is my favorite DC character and the lack of gliding ability would add a very interesting challenge to the game.

it would be cool if in the next game you can work with one of his sidekicks while chasing someone or maybe a back to back fight.

@MrKarate22 No.. All 4 characters can do that. Batman has a cape for gliding and moving around well. Catwoman has a whip to help her move around decently. Robin and Nightwing aren't meant for FREE-ROAM however Robin has a cape. Nightwing doesn't have a cape. He uses a hang glider. But obviously they didn't need to add one in the challenge maps. Also it would be weird to bring a hang glider into Arkham City.

I believe I said 'limited' free roam, but yes, there will be new areas, but still within Arkham City, most likely new buildings taken over by Harley.

@wasacacatv He's DLC and I meant free-roam.. Nightwing can't free roam unless you mod the game and only for PC.

Like what they did with Catwoman. After you beat the game there are character switch points, if they had just set up specific locations for each character, robin, night wing, and cat woman, that would have been smart.

Catwoman is already available with the DLC. Robin can be used in Harley Quinn's Revenge although the free-roaming aspect is limited. And lastly, since it's a console, I doubt Nightwing can be used outside of the challenges.

Also finishing off side-missions. I would have liked it if Catwoman had more side-missions, along with Nightwing and Robin, when they get the chance to free-roam.

@nintendude24 If you watch this one video with Tara Strong (the voice of Harley Quinn) theres going to be an extension to the game and I'm hoping Nightwing's going to be in it. But I do agree with you.

Well, I still enjoy gliding around the city and attacking the enemies that way. Haven't played those other free roam games but I want to play Lego Batman 2 because of the vehicles! I hope in the prequel Batman game they let us drive around, but I doubt it cause they are adding justice league.

According to sources, yes. But it will be limited free roam, and things will have changed since the DLC takes place days after the end of the story.

I wish it would allow access to at least 1 of the Gotham buidlings though (Wayne Enterprise for example) cause it would be so cool to be able to grapple all the way up there and jump off and glide around Gotham but I guess that won't happen.

@danieal101 I don't play Arkham City anymore and I never died when playing as Nightwing. (probably because I didn't play too much) and Robin never crashes my game. Weird.

@thewolvbeast264 umm.. well I have a Batman GTA San Andreas mod. You get almost every Bat vehicle created from the cartoons, tv show and movies. ("cars", bats, helicopters and "jets") There is also the batcave from batman begins (the one that's all white or w/e full of lights) And there is also wayne manor and a batcave underneath it. Pretty sick. Haven't played it in a while though lol

Actually it works really well with mouse and keyboard. Also, if you don't like them, you can always use a Xbox 360 controller.

The developers should've gave nightwing under arm wings that would pop up if he would glide and disappear when grounded. It would work great with the dive bomb

I hope they will have another DLC, so that Nightwing can free roam in the city. From what I hear, Robin will be able to roam Arkham City freely once this new Harley's Revenge DLC hits. I have faith that this DLC will be worth every Microsoft Point. However, to be sure I will watch the reviews.

Free roam is just the Story Mode after you've finished the main story, you just get to run around the city, collecting riddler trophies and stuff

@ronronner92 Follow the instructions that the creator made. Make sure to keep a backup. Or you can do what I did. Have one save game your original. Have one save game Nightwing And have the last save game Robin.

Possibly the funniest demo run of Nightwing in Arkham City. The Finishing camera takedown was a thug holding a crate over his head and his ass is handed to him by Nightwing. Reminds of Young Justice...

This is a mod, therefore there are no limitations.If Rocksteady actually had Nightwing as a Free Roam option the he would probably take damage from jumping off a building of that height.
