My man literally gets the Vegeta treatment in these films. They both look badass and sure, they’re more or less equal to Goku/Batman.. but they’re always getting their asses kicked to set some sort of example and to make Batman/Goku look a lot cooler when they show up to save the day.

"You're Overrated kid." That line there proves that the writers of this universe hated Nightwing.

I’m all for hurt but why can’t they just make him cool for once. Like don’t make Nightwing look weak just because you want Damian to look cool.

I'm just glad Young Justice respects him, his abilities, and his leadership skills.

Dick Grayson has already: - made himself equal to Batman, has beat him from what I've heard, and may even be able to surpass him (from what I heard there were comics where he already did surpass Bats and Bruce was proud but if it really hasn't happened yet then I'm sure Dick will surpass him someday) - maintained and improved his acrobatic skills even after he left the circus - has impressed Batman with his skills in acrobats and combats to the point where even he wanted to learn some tricks - was able to sneak up on the Justice League in their secret meetings and they only knew about it after he wasn't interested in hiding anymore - has beat one or some of the Flash members against a race that took place in a complicated maze - successfully snuck into Area 51 long before it was even a meme - beat Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in fights - beat The Court of Owls and that one time he had to be a member, he was even considered an equal or even stronger than the rest - been skilled enough to be an agent aka Spiral - proven to everyone that he's a better, clearer, and brighter version of who Batman was supposed to be and the purpose of Batman and this was Bruce's words btw. Bruce wanted to make Dick grow into a hero that didn't have depression, trauma, and darkness fully consuming him and he succeeded in that goal. - done so much more to prove why he would be the next Batman besides Tim Drake (who surpassed Bats in detective skills and was the only one that figured out how Bruce wasn't truly dead) There are videos, comics, and other stuff to showing how Dick Grayson is one of Batman's greatest successes and how Dick Grayson/Nightwing showed how he's his own hero instead of staying under Batman's shadow or having people always lump him with Batman. Dick has already done multiple, incredible stuff and went on several journeys. So idek why they nerfed his growth and abilities in these animated films. He left Batman before joining Teen Titans and went on his own journey afterwards before finally becoming Nightwing so why diminish his growth like this? The few animations I could think of that recognize and respect his abilities and progress are Teen Titans and Young Justice (and people have lots of opinions about the later seasons and someone said that he got killed off so I can't tell if YJ has also screwed Dick over). I'm sure they could introduce Batwoman, Damian, and the rest of the Batfam without nerfing tf out of Dick and other people. And even if Dick hasn't beat or surpassed Batman yet that doesn't mean Dick should be a nerfed, sparring dummy for everyone to constantly beat in the animations. There are comics that showed how they're all strong and different from each other without necessarily turning one of them into a constant punching bag - by constant punching bag, a good example is how it's mostly Kenny from South Park that gets killed compared to the rest of the friends - so why do this with Dick in the animations? Other characters can be introduced without having to nerf and diminish Dick's true abilities like this (I don't see any of that happening to Batman, some Teen Titans, Damian, etc.). And based on the replies people are arguing on whether or not Dick has become equal or surpassed Batman. Regardless of whatever the answer to that is, it doesn't change the fact that it's ridiculous seeing Dick's abilities, skills, and progressed being disregarded in these animations, seeing him nerfed more severely than the rest of the characters, seeing him thrown around and lose without putting up as much of a fight as he's capable of (and even if there's a fight where he will lose, we know he can do so much more and make his opponents struggle for a while before that loss even happens), and seeing him get this treatment just so the other characters can look impressive when I'm sure there's more than enough room for everyone's abilities to be displayed without having to nerf and put down one person. Like the spotlight is large enough for Dick and everyone else. Look at ATLA, there were fights, wins, and losses but they showed how badass and skilled everyone is with their own abilities and how even with the losses, they still put up a good fight and it still took effort for their opponents to make a lose happen.

Nightwing is supposed to be the world's greatest acrobat and equal to Batman in combat skills. I have no idea what these movies gain from downplaying his skills so badly, except for trying to make Damian and Bruce look better in comparison. I think we can all agree how ridiculously OP Damian was here. The kid's 10. I don't care how much training you have, a 10 year old can't handle half of the shit he pulled in these movies. He's a great character, sure, but if the writers can't show that without making the rest of the cast look incompetent, then they're bad at their jobs and they probably haven't read enough comics.

At least I’m Under The Red Hood, Jason was more or less on a similar skill gap and in Bad Blood he was facing a Batman who was trying to kill him, but the other examples were pretty inexcusable. You don’t just run up to Scarecrow without a plan.
