I love to watch Emppu (the guitarist), he must throw out hundreds of picks each show. He is always joyful and fun-loving - and a notorious trickster (in the song "I Want My Tears Back:" from this Wacken concert he can be seen conspiring with Troy to disconnect Floor's in-ear monitors from the battery pack on her hip, which he does later in the song as he runs behind her. Floor catches on and prevents him from doing it twice). And what a killer guitar player, he's highly underrated.

For a gentle song you can go for "sleeping sun". Be sure to check the lead singer because this song was originaly sang by Tarja, their first singer. There is a great version with floor at maaster of rock 2015.

One of Floor's most gentle & beautifully vulnerable songs is not with Nightwish but with her magnificent first band After Forever. Just her and Joost van den Broek on keys. Lyrics checked beforehand is recommended. It's an old recording but still a very decent quality live performance at Pinkpop in the Netherlands. The link is in Gabriel's extended NW list. I've said this on other posts, but this entire concert is a masterpiece! The performance, the camera direction, stage show, editing, sound mixing -- all top level! You see how much they enjoy performing these songs and how much energy the audience adds to the performance. I suggest getting the DVD or BluRay and watching it on the biggest tv screen possible with an awesome sound system.

You should check out "Sleeping Sun"...it is the most beautiful melody I've ever heard, and I bet you never guess what it is about! There is only one song they do live that you don't see Empuu smiling, but I won't tell you which...it even looks like he sheds a tear while playing it. You'll notice it when react to the song!

When you move towards newer songs, make sure to check out the acoustic version of "How's the heart" with just Floor on vocals and Troy on backing vocals and guitar. But as long as you have songs left from the Wacken show, just stay with them, you won't ever be disappointed.

Well...At that time in 2013, this song was the most challenging vocal piece for Floor (believe it or not). And now, this song is not only in Nightwish set list (Current tour), but also in Floor's Solo Concert, what was in Amsterdam. I heard this song "Live" last year, and even without Marko (ex member), Floor did his parts beautifully and this song IS forever beautiful still on this day ! NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘

For a softer ballad showcasing Floor's beautiful voice really well you should check out "How's the Heart" - there's an acoustic version that's absolutely gorgeous! Also "Our Decades in the Sun" - and for a powerhouse vocal the song "Shoemaker" is absolutely amazing! The guy on bass is Marco :) Guitarist is Emppu, keyboards is Tuomas (the mastermind of Nightwish) and Jukka on drums - sadly Jukka left the band a few years back due to sever insomnia among other things that made it very difficult for him to keep going, and Marco sadly left a couple of years ago as well. As I said, Tuomas is the mastermind however, so even with a new drummer and bass player, who both are amazing as well, it's still very much Nighwish, because that honestly is Tuomas, he's such a genius! Fun fact about him, some years back he released an album inspired by Scrooge McDuck - I know, it sounds silly, but it is incredibly beautiful! "Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" :)

I am enjoying your Nightwish journey. As others have suggested, I would recommend the acoustic version of How's the Heart, and also The Islander and While Your Lips Are Still Red, sung by Marko. I would also add Floor's solo version of Slow Love Slow if you want to see her tackle some Jazz. There is no shortage of material here. You still have Tarja and Anette, along with a bunch of Floor's solo stuff (including her appearance on Beste Zangers).

How's the Heart is an acoustic duet Floor did with another Nightwish member I'm not sure you've met yet, an Englishman named Troy Donockley who plays everything imaginable. It's a song Tuomas(keybordist, songwriter, genius, metal Mozart) wrote especially for Floor and her Husband and daughter Freja. Floor also participated in the dutch TV Show Beste Zangers which is a brilliant show where they take 5-6 Dutch musicians and each week one of them is the main guest and the others sing their songs to them or songs that mean something to the guest. Floor sang among other songs a cover of Lady Gaga's Shallow, she did a duet of Phantom of the Opera with another musician Henk Poort(the original Dutch Phantom from the Phantom of the Opera). Floor has also recently gone solo(still with Nightwish) and made a solo album with pop songs. The album is called Paragon.

You're looking for her performances on the Dutch TV show "Beste Zingers". They bring together 7 performers of various backgrounds and genre's. Each week one singer is "on the couch". The other singers each pick a song to perform to that singer.. The idea is they research the singer on the couch that week and choose a song that is special to them. Floor sings songs that are opera, classical, pop, etc... in Dutch, German and Spanish, as well as English. The funny thing is she is Dutch, well known around the world, but because Metal is not very popular in the Netherlands... she was virtually an unknown on this show in her own home country. Not anymore.

Agree with all the other suggestions regarding songs showcasing Floor's vocals. I would also recommend "Strong", an After Forever song that Floor wrote for and about her mother. The most recent live version I know of is from her solo show in Amsterdam. You can find it on her YT channel. That entire show is there, along with lots of other great content.

Nightwish's performance at Waken 2013, is, imo, comparable to Queen at Live Aid as far as great performances go.

Wish i could time travel. One of the more gentle Nightwish songs is Sleeping sun. Floor has sung songs like Strong which was about her mother.

We should all love our jobs as much as Emppu loves his. Marko is the other singer here. They did a cover of High Hopes from Pink Floyd where Marko pretty much proved he could be the lead singer. Marko is a metal god in the European scene. Two people I know of can rock purple velvet pants and make it cool. Prince and Marko.

Great - Song of Myself is my No 2. Ever Dream no longer Floors most difficult song (since Shoemaker came along) . All reactors get fooled by the start...
