So, we decided to do another Sabaton video. When we reacted the first time, we had quite a few requests for this song-A Christmas Truce. I wasn't sure when we would get to it until I was told what it was about. It concerns WW1 and something miraculously happening. The song explains it and I do as well at the end. I'm a music nerd and a history fan and had read about this event as a boy. It never left me. SueSue also knew the story and wanted to react to it. I have to say this one almost got me! I didn't shed a tear but I was close!
Note that the video is of an acoustic set, I had the YT volume turned all the way up and I feel like it's a little low. You might need to increase the volume of the music and turn our comments down when we are speaking. We really appreciate your grace as we are trying to get the audio just right.

Definitely check out Sabaton’s official music video for Christmas Truce guys. It’s like a small movie and you get the full version with all the bells and whistles. It’s very powerful and amazing. This acoustic version is beautiful as well. Sabaton is an amazing band. Great job with your reaction and analysis. Enjoying your channel very much!

@@SueSueandthewolfman Yes, definitely what Travis said. Unfortunately, one misses about 97% of the awe-inspiring chills with this version. The official vid is a movie quality production with the band members cast in the re-enactment. Floor's husband, Hannes, plays the role of the first German soldier brave enough to emerge from the trench with his hands in the air. And the closing credits overlay is tear-jerking in its own right with Floor's beautiful soprano background and the cross-carving scene that should make you gasp with a new perspective, suggesting that this war, still, has not really ended. Definitely check it out. We'd love to see it here too!

And it is more than a connection with Floor and Hannes as they are married and have a 4 1/2 year old daughter named Freja. Check out Floor #Storytime. Floor did a channel during the heights of Covid showing how she was keeping busy during lockdown. If you don't love her and her family, you will after watching them. Also one minute #FloorFanFriday. Can I make a small correction? This is their channel, and they can play anything they like. So instead of saying, "You should have" maybe "I would've liked to seen" would have been better. But I agree the music video is amazing, and would love to see another reaction to the official music video. I don't think anyone here would mind heating the same song twice.

Thanks, Carlos! We will react again to the official video as Jessica suggested below. I love this song and will listen to it multiple times. I love everything about this band. His voice is saw raw and full of emotion. The live video we watch first showed how musical and talented they are! You will see more of these guys down the line. We have so many Nightwish suggestions to get to, but we can make room.

Great reaction! This is from a charity project a Swedish national radio station does every year. A lot of different bands and musicians are guests in the show. It lasts over 48 hours, non stop. The hosts sits in a cage of glass the whole time. I think the money for this year went to prevent child labor in countries where that's very common.

At 2:40 you see a small Dala Horse in the background. A Dala Horse is a traditional carved, painted wooden statue of a horse originating in the Swedish province of Dalarna. In the old days the Dala horse was mostly used as a toy for children and in modern times it has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general. And Sabaton comes from the small town Falun in Dalarna.

Echo those saying you need to watch the official music video if only for yourselves. The full video and music is so epic and amazing. The ending with Floor and her soaring vocals just hits you in the feels and makes my eyes tear up every time. I really connect emotionally to this song and it really captures the brotherhood of arms that I was a part of for 20 years. I can go years without seeing any of my shipmates but when we meet up our friendships pick right up with they left off. Sabaton's songs are all about wars, battles and persons who played an important role in it. I don't know if you are interested in war(history) but they have a phenomenal History Channel on YT. You should check that out! The narrator in a lot of those video's is Indy Neidell, an American-Swedish documentarian, perhaps you've heard of him. Fans of Sabaton can send in ideas for a song if they know of a (forgotten) war or battle. Sabaton tries to make a song of it. They recieve thousands and thousands of ideas each year!! And ofcourse as so many fans already suggested....please check out their official "A Christmas Truce" video. I think it is their Masterpiece, soooo emotional! The guy on the keyboards in this video is guitarist Tommy Johansson. He made a lot of music arrangemants for Floor's covers. The guy to the right of singer Joakim Brodén is Hannes van Dahl, Floor's husband. Hannes films all her videos. They live with their almost 5 yr old daughter on a small farm in Sweden.

Ohh YES I LOVE this one too, but now u def need to go check out their official video, it’s got so many awesome things going on in it such as them using Floor’s vocals at the end (and like u mentioned she’s the current Nightwish singer who’s also married to this band’s drummer!!) Ohh and YES to doing EVER DREAM next as well, slowly inching up to their CLASSICS like ‘The Poet and the Pendulum’ and MY PERSONAL FAVORITE SONG EVER WRITTEN, and prob ever performed as well, and SO appropriately titled.. ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ !!!

This was in Norrköping 2021 for the radioshow Musikhjälpen where all the money raised is going to different charity. This time it was for provent children from work. Many young children are forced to work. And the musicvideo is awesome, you should check it out

The keyboardist in this video Tommy has an amazing voice. He did a video 2 weeks ago it was called Raise me up and its called an Octave higher Channel. You should really check out their own History Channel

I didn't know this version, nice! But as said by others, Sabaton puts a lot of work and budget in their 'historic movie' music video's, definitely check that out. And Bismark, No bullits fly, etc.

Even if you don't react to it, you should check out the official video for this song. Being a history major, you are going to enjoy this band as almost all of their songs deal with military history. I recommend Bismarck(sinking of the German battleship), Soldier of Heaven (White Friday avalanches Dec 1916),The Unkillable Soldier(Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart) and the animated videos for night Witches (Russian 588th all female night bomber regiment WWII), and No Bullets Fly (German fighter escorts damaged B-17 back to English channel)

Thank you Chris that is awesome. Yes we’ve had several request to do the official video. It was just an oversight because I didn’t know the was a an official video and grabbed the first one that I found. I’m sure I’ll like the other one as well so it’ll go up pretty soon probably next week or so. I love this band. I haven’t watched much of their music except for what I’ve posted on this channel. However I have looked at descriptions and head comments from other subscribers. I think these guys are going to be right up my alley. Thank you again Chris

Musikhjälpen (Music help) is a fundraiser that last for a week every december and is broadcasted on Sverigest television/radio (public service). The hosts are "locked" in and broadcast 24/7 and invite guests during the time and have a theme every year, this was in 2021 and it was against child labour and they got a bit over 53million sek or 570.000$ in total.

As for saying it was at Wembley I was at the same time working on Nightwish song that wasn’t Wembley so I got a mixed up! Just chalk it up to an old man and his memory

That was sort of a strange video to react to. It’s from a charity radio show where artist perform from a glass house on squares in different Swedish towns and the audience are just people on the streets. So no Nightwish fans. Do the official music video for this one. It’s a masterpiece. There are no concerts videos yet since it’s from a new album and covid has been happening.

Thanks Steve! Yeah we can’t wait to get Buster settled in. We still want him to come over and hang out with us like Buddha’s. But he had a very hard life and is very skittish. After several days he’s just now coming to us and it’s sad to say but he’s a great dog. I know there’s so much more in him and what we’re seeing right now. Thanks for your comment!

Yes thank you!! I feel very embarrassed for putting that on there but I got mixed up. I was working on another NightWish video that was at Wembley and the Sabaton video at the same time.
