As far as the different singers go...everyone has their preference. In a nutshell: Tarja: all opera all the time Anette: pop/rock singer Floor: anything and everything

Pink Floyd Fan for Life....but this one is just........better. Haunting Keyboard....GREAT Vocals......brillant Guitar Solo...driving drums on point.....this is one of the rare Occasions where I like the Cover/Tribute better then the already good original. Just my opinion.

Tarja, Anette, and Floor are great lead singers, (Anette is underrated, but You can denied the fact that she is an important part of the Nightwish history) I love the álbum Dark Passion Play & Imaginarium, Floor is and awesome singer, and of course, she improves everything, Marko is a Phenomenal singer and bass player, Great reaction Juliette

There are always people that cannot accept that bands go their way thru times and different era's. Each band is a bondage of people with their own lifes and understandings of things. Sometimes things have to change because someone leaves the way out of reasons. As a fan to be stuck in time always leads to misunderstanding and could anyone tell me which right a fan has to criticise any decision a band makes? Or a musician? I experienced so many bands and cicumstanced in them thruout about 50 years - it makes no sense to think about what was, it only makes sense to love and appreciate the presence and hope for the future. To which kind of mess turmoil of fans and press may lead can easily be seen in the consequences after Tarja left. I never would have been in the skin of Tuomas going thru the deepest depression without any responsibility for what happened. Ok, I get it, my opinion might not be welcome to everybody, but there is no need to applause me. Tarja and Annette had their time in the band and will never be forgotten. Floor is the present singer and I am happy with her like hell. And the best: On 1st of June I will see her live in Eindhoven/NL for the first time with her solo stuff.

The four's stoic performance is made even more poignant. When one knows the circumstances of the events that took place that night. As well as the adverse side effects, that followed soon after.

Says something about Nightwish, that even without Tarja, Anette, or Floor, they still knock your socks off. Not that you need _another_ rabbit hole to get lost in, but do check out Postmodern Jukebox with Haley Reinhart (my second-favorite vocalist after Floor.) Their take on Radiohead's "Creep" has over 100MM views for a reason - but you can't go wrong no matter which song you listen to. They specialize in covers that outshine the originals.

You should try Phantom of the Opera from this concert sometime. It can introduce you to Tarja while also giving you more Marko on vocals too. 🔥❤🔥

Hi Jess. With each singer you get a different vibe. Tarja is entirely opera, and everything performed up to 2005 was written specifically for her. Anette recorded two albums with the band until her enforced departure in 2012. She could only perform half of the Tarja-era material (and even then struggled with the high notes). but the music written between 2007 - 2011 was written specifically for her. While Floor joined at the end of 2012, no 'new' music was released until 2015, and to date Tuomas has written two albums with Floor's vocal range in mind. Wacken in 2013 is the first recording with Floor, and every subsequent release ever since. Like you, I am a Floor fan, and if I am entirely honest, would not be a Nightwish fan were Tarja still to be at the helm. We all have preferences, and Floor is mine.

Thank you for your nice reaction to this song. 🙂 And I really apreciate a good sound quality of your video as well. 🙂 BTW, Tarja (pronounced Tary-ah/Taree-ah) is a singer who brought the band to everyone's attention with her operatic voice. No one can exactly say, who is a better singer - Tarja or Floor. They do have different voices, but they both are the best for Nightwish style of music and singing. Only Floor could correctly replace Tarja, no one else in the whole world. Anette also was a very good singer, but the songs she sung were composed by Tuomas to match her voice range and style. The songs were a little less demanding to a singer voice quality (my opinion), but they were still beautiful and the real Nightwish fans always liked them. i would say, listen to Tarja, and give your own opinion. if you want a good suggestion for that, try Nemo - by Nightwish (with Tarja of course) good song to show what the band was like. another song to try is Poison by Tarja Turunen, its a cover of Alice Cooper's Poison. but for me, this is Tarja without nightwish so its different lol, if that makes sense. awesome work though, Jess keep it up, cannot wait for the next reaction ;) / or fallout 4 stream :D

Great reaction! The element that may affect this performance is the fact that they all know this is gonna be Tarja’s last show with the band. There are some other songs too, where you can tell, that especially Tuomas feels what’ll be coming after the show. You can see the pain and sorrow in his face. But this is a great, great show, either because of it or despite of it. And Marko, what a voice! 🔥🤘

Tarja is a must IMO. Nemo was already suggested, Wishmaster and Planet Hell are also good, or the 2005 version of Phantom of the Opera with Tarja and Marko (all three songs from the same concert as "High Hopes" which you reacted to here). There are lots more, but those would be my picks.

Another artist that you should hear is Eva Cassidy. Her music did not get recognized while she was alive, she died in 1996 at the age of 33 of melanoma. Any of her music is great but Autumn Leaves, Fields of Gold, and Blues in the Night are stunning examples of her talent. She was an eclectic artist who sang what she felt and music companies did not know what to do with her.

You should absolutely react something whit Tarja. She is amazing in her own way. There are some songs, that I think only Tarja can deliver. She has so powerful and dark operatic voice.

Without any hate i recommend you to use any translation app, they'll tell you how to pronounce Tarja's name.)) I like both Floor and Tarja, they are great vocalists. May be you'd like to react to "Phantom of the opera" with one or another (or both of them), who knows. Marko is great in the "Islander" and "While your lips are still red", IMHO.

I'm a Floor guy but Tarja is the beginning of Nightwish and you should check out some Tarja also because she is very good also

Hello Juliëtte, it is fine to me whether you respond to songs with Floor as the main vocalist, or whether you are also surprised by her two female predecessors, who has have of course contributed their own special aspects to the maturing of Nightwish. Each of them has their own unique contribution to the band. But, for me, Floor is the perfect singer for NW. She has the perfect combination of both her predecessors, which is why Tarja and Anette add little to the Nightwish experience for me that I cannot experience with Floor. On top of that, Floor adds dedication and empathy where I experience more egoism and narcissism with her predecessors.

Long story short, sadly many Floor Jansen fans think that Nightwish IS Floor Jansen ... They all forget that without the very different, but amazing (same level on Floor) Tarja Turunen was the first main singer of the band. And they have reached success with Her. The geniality of Tuomas Holopainen (Jack Sparrow, the keyboardist) is that He is able to write/compose songs for very different singers. Tarja is definatelly an operatic voice of Nightwish. The second one was Anette Olson, who is a great singer, but not specially for a Nightwish type of band. She has a more popish sound, not that powerful, but clear voice. Floor Jansen is the most versatile of them all. BUT She can perform very old Tarja/Anette song only in a "good" and different way. That good is not a big critic, She is just NOT Tarja. Thats all. And for now the main reason why Floor is so pushed into Reactors face is a person called Gabriel Bardac. He is the collector of Floor fans and summons His most of the time very toxic community. If You are not amazed by Floor enough (Floorgasm), He and his "crew" leaving Your channel... :D Personally I find this very pathetic. If You dare to say that Tarja is more of Your taste then Floor ... toxic comments will come. Do not listen to them at all, be a honest reactor (smaller, slower gain of followers) or step inside the line (many followers in a month or two). Trend versus Being Honest

I'd say no to Tarja to be honest, live she isn't as strong as Floor, it was a different vibe, but Floor shines so much more. The middle signer Anette...was dreadful, live she's pretty appalling, really bad. I'm sure others will disagree strongly, that's cool, I'm not looking for a battle about it, just my opinion. Great reaction! Stick with Gabrials list, things just get better and better

Not listening to this as im a massive Pink Floyd and this is a very dear song for me as its the last song Floyd ever did about the bands beginning . Its the last song on the last LP . Dislike 90% of covers there are only 3 or 4 good covers on youtube in my opinion.

So glad you decided to react to this one. I knew you'd like it. I'm not big on covers, they usually fall way short - and why wouldn't they? This is on a whole other level of normal covers. Tarja is a singing force you wanna look into. Check out "Nemo" from this same concert - End of an Era. Jukka on the drum kit had a migraine head ache during this show. I have no idea how he pulled it off that night. I f you wanna hear more Marko, check out "The Islander" from the Tempere concert in 2015. Beautiful guitar work and an awesome sea shanty of a song. It really is good.
