Of course, he's nailing it ... he's Emppu. Seriously, the most underrated guitarist on the planet, except to the Nightwish Army. He is a genius of tone, and only plays what makes the composition better. He and Tuomas are the only founding members left, and although neither of them draw attention to themselves as musical geniuses, we see it. We see it! My best to Bruno.

@@themetalmuse It was Marko the bassist who left most recently. Tuomas is the keyboardist and composer. Jukka Koskinen the bassist from Wintersun stepped in to fill Marko's shoes.

This song is one of my favourites, build up, after build up (goosebumps on goosebumps) and at the end of the song, Floor almost becomes a wolf herself, with that wide open mouth.🤯❤💥💯🤘

"Damn", yeah that about covers it. lol. The title was inspired by the Stephen King book, Wolves of Calla. The song itself is telling you to go out and live your life the best you can. Live life to the fullest because the 'wolves' are only 7 days behind you. From the 2007 album ,Dark Passion Play. First record with Anette. Marko co-wrote the music with Tuomas on this song. Next at Wembley is "Alpenglow", then "Poet and the Pendulum"

Studio recordings are only part of the picture. You can only get the whole package live, especially with bands like Nightwish or Pink Floyd. A well-intentioned piece of advice for you is to have enough tissues ready for your video for The Poet and the Pendulum, you'll need them.

@@themetalmuse Sorry, had to go fetch (the car). I meant this one 😁 Started outside my Top-5 but for some time now "7 Days" (Wembley) has been my favourite NW performance. Saw them do it at their Nov 2022 Amsterdam Ziggo Dome concert, which was a huge surprise with Marko no longer there but I have so say that Troy did a magnificent job (could really hear the improvement in his vocals since Pinkpop when we saw them a few months earlier, so he might've squeezed in a few lessons from a certain vocal coach named FJ). Cheers!

Great reaction (as usual). Love seeing Floor's inner beast. It's really cool that she has a tattoo of a hound behind one of her ears (representing her tranquil, domestic side), and a tattoo of a wolf behind her other ear (her wild side). She really let the wolf loose on this one! Your going to love reacting to The Poet and the Pendulum next, it's a MASTERPIECE - just my advice but you should research the background to that song first. It's very personal to the band and the fans alike.

Poet and the Pendulum, definitely need to read beforehand what it's about - and when you view the video, be sure one with onscreen lyrics as there are several parts where that comes in real handy. A Masterpiece to be sure!

Only Nightwish will dare to play a Bouzouki in a metal song and make it sound great :-) And in the second half our Queen nearly turns into a Werewolf :-) This is just great. Buenos Aires, Tuomas was handing out water bottles. The pauses, Tuomas knows how to use them well. Emppu grinning, as usual. :) Another pause, "Wembley, Let's GO!" They did have fireworks indoors! That drop, them boom! Changing the rythms again. Emppu and Troy jamming. Tuomas windmilling! Floors "Whoop!" "Rollercoaster"? Ah, "Last Ride Of The Day"!

You're so right....this song takes you up, down, sideways, upside down.....and you never have a chance to take it all in....because there is so much happening! The images on the wall are amazing..and yet they are frantic...like the horses running away from the wolves! Problem is...this song is addicting! I listen to it during the night...before I go to sleep!

Before "diving" into The Poet and the Pendulum ....... take the time to read about the "why" Tuomas wrote this song (backstory). The lyrics make such more sense.

@@themetalmuse They didn't play that in Tampere. You can do it blind, but it probably have more impact if you know the story. And that stupid open letter is not the story. At least not the story most old Nightwish fans want to hear (again). I can give you more in depth explanation that comes from pretty much "average" old Nightwish fan, who is still their huge fan, and who loves all their singers.

Favorite part is the 5:00 to 6:00 part. If someone asks me what is symphonic metal....that's it.🤘 Alpenglow was next on the setlist for this show, then Poet. Not sure if there could be 2 more opposite songs back to back. Very uplifting to very despondent. I love both, but for different reasons. But harder for me to watch Poet. Especially seeing Tuomas sing "Try to save them all, bleed no more". Open up the faucet...grab the Kleenex.

Please watch P&P with subtitles, the lyrics are quite important on that one. It describes Tuomas being in the darkest place he's ever been and we are very fortunate he could let it out through his music.

Yay, my no. 3. High energy at the start and gets higher energy throughout. A Floor faviurite and for goid reason, so still on the setlist. And its one of those songs where Marco takes the lead quite a lot and people don't always realise. And some more of those lyrics only Tuomas would write: Light the fire, feast Chase the ghost, give in Take the road less traveled by Leave the city of fools Turn every poet loose. Emppu is, of course, a GOAT. Glad you spotted the silent howl. The Poet is my No 1. Hopefully you understand the band history andvwhat thevsong is about - youll get the most out of it that way. It is the pinnacle of Tuomas' ouvre, for me - even more than Greatest Show at the end of what was a magificent concert. More of an experience than a show.

This is My Song, chosen for me by my wife partly because I tend to think the wolves are right around the corner, and she says "you've got 7 days, do you want to spend them cowering or are you going to live life?" I guess you could call it tough love! Anyway, it seems to be working - I'm less doomy than I was. And yes, this is the song they _didn't_ play when I saw them live that I most missed...

Love your reaction and how much you enjoy their songs. This is another song from "Dark Passion Play" the same album containing The Poet and The Pendulum. I always thought it was a superb album the didn't get enough credit between the fallout of Tarjia's leaving and Anette's more low-key approach. It makes me happy that Floor's interpretation brought it its well deserved recognition

I think you will enjoy it more watching that 😊 there is also a story behind the song and the song will make more sense if you understand that before watching After firing their first singer Tarja Tuomas received a lot of hate even though I have heard that it was Marco who instigated it and it was the whole band who signed the open letter to her. Even the Finnish Prime Minister waded in with his opinion. Tuomas has said that he wasn';t suicidal but he was very depressed, and wrote Poet as a way to kill off the old Nightwish and start a new beginning An internet search for "Nightwish open letter to Tarja" will show you their letter to her which they gave her at the end of their "End Of An Era" concert, and her letter in response

Hey there! Friendly musical suggestion if you want something similar to Nightwish, that has more of a bark. I highly recommend you check out Mechina and Fleshgod Apocalypse. The former is like taking a trip into sci-fi territory, almost like a soundtrack to an epic futuristic story come to life. Think Epica meets Fear Factory. The latter is 50% Dimmu Borgir, 25% Italian orchestral music and 25% death metal brutality. I promise you won't be disappointed. P.S.: Ever since I've watched your videos, I noticed a trend in your videos, mainly when it comes to your outfits and such. They are on point, as ever. A huge fan of latex and PVC fashion myself. However, I'm curious to know if they are dresses or catsuits. Just curious. Cheers! Stay metal!

Floor is an amazing beast in a leather outfit, the wolf would rather retreat. This song can be listened to on the train, even in the shower when I'm washing myself, the bathroom door is open and the amp is turned up full blast.😊

And so would you after windmilling on her pace, LOLZ "by G-translator": - When I was younger, I had a strong need to show off my skills and invite people to go as much as possible, but now that kind of thing has been left out a bit and I know how to go more on the terms of the songs. That learning didn't just come by itself, but has required quite conscious maturation over the years" He does not have urge to play exra riffs anymore... Emppu in his interview.
