Yes, its how all the parts - drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and vocals of course - fit together that make Nightwish so awesome... and Tuomas's brilliant song writing, of course!

A lot of people like a shred every guitar solo. That's just not Emppu. The way he does it, when he actually does shred, as in this song, it just has that much more impact. Great reaction!

Don’t await too long till the next Nightwish reaction, I loved this and will be waiting in anticipation for the next. Which might most possibly be your next favorite song. It happens frequently with Nightwish. That’s how Nightwish goes. I’d suggest listening to the Poet and the Pendulum and Greatest Show on Earth later on in your journey and do some research on those two songs in particular to catch the full experience because they’re deep. First listen on those songs a live show w/lyric video can be helpful. But It’s your journey and yours alone. It’s unique for everyone and it’s a beautiful thing to witness. FYI, Marko sings lead on several Nightwish songs. The Islander (A folksy sea shanty), High Hopes (A cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's song), or Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red are good choices to see that. Marko has his own band called Tarot, which he also sings for. He's also guest starred on other band's recordings. And to top it all, he won Finland's version of The Masked Singer back in 2020. He's an amazingly talented singer, with a diversity in his voice that almost matches Floor's.

Props for looking at lyrics. Tuomas’ writing is often quite layered and intricate and you can probably already tell that you can miss a lot if you don’t have the words. In an earlier video you mentioned wondering how studio versions compare. One of the spectacular things about Nightwish is that since they have had three vocalists, we have the unheard-of chance to hear the same song performed professionally by different singers with the full cooperation of the same band. Tuomas wrote to his singers’ strengths and it turns out that all of the songs you have listened to thus far were in fact written for earlier vocalists. Floor does great renditions but the studio versions feature the original vocalists and so we all get the awesome opportunity to have different yet great versions of them available for different moods. I have no idea how this does or doesn’t fit your KZfaq schedule, but at least for your own enjoyment I suggest checking out the other versions. You should hold off a bit on those (especially "Poet and the Pendulum"), as this song expresses..well.. lets just call it band struggles. You won't find a live version as they've never played it live because it was about Tarja and more specifically her husband after they fired her. They're not that band, full of anger anymore hence why they'll never play it.

There are a couple different schools of thought about Poet and Greatest Show, but in my opinion, if you know what the songs are about beforehand, they have a much greater impact when you watch the videos. Also there are videos with lyrics, so please try to find those.

Most empowering break-up song ever and definitely one of my favorites! Great reaction! For some drama (a Good v Evil play with Floor and Marko going back and forth) with serious speed, "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires 2018): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNJzort5kqmuqYk.html With regard to the "longer" songs, "The Poet and the Pendulum" has a complex history that you can either take a deep dive into before seeing the first time, or you can watch and just feel it. The most important thing to understand about it: the song was written after Tarja left/was publicly booted from the band which created a lot of backlash. Tuomas felt this deeply, descending into a very dark place. This song is that journey through his darkness. As for "The Greatest Show on Earth", it's about the formation of Earth and the evolution of its inhabitants, it's a science-nerd's joy. There are two main versions and you'll get input on both as being "the" version to watch. My favorite is Tampere - because it's visually amazing; the staging is incredible and contributes to the epic-ness of the entire thing.
