I'm in 11th standard rn and i don't have a good pc to develop games, although I'm learning python in my 13yo laptop and yeah it's fun. My parents told me that they're gonna let me build a gaming pc in 12th. I wonder if it will be okay for me or not and I'm preparing for jee too. But still my dream is to become a game developer

@@poteita6610 bro I'll suggest u to use Java it's better and has more scope then python. Phyton is getting outdated slowly and to create a game u must learn Java

@@Real_Vergil_Sparda that's for mobile games ig, and yeah python might not be good for game development but in web development it beats every other languages, and I'm a beginner so i am tryna learn the easy languages first, after completing python i will learn c# or java then c++. Btw thank u so much for telling me all these stuffs.

@@manavroy7293 sadly Godot doesn't work on my pc lol, it's telling me to upgrade my driver which is not possible. Even if it's possible idk how to do that lol so i will just learn python for now.

Its extremely easy to get an intern position in india if you have the knowledge and good portfolio. But the salary will be around 15 - 20 k per month in the beginning

sad truth you can't build Triple A Quality game by yourself and if y can't do that then you have to get a job and in india especially the game dev studios average offer 15k to 50k. So Choose wisely once you get into game dev there's no going back. and don't think you're gonna make mobile game that will make you reach overnight. it's very hard to publish game by yourself

I am getting forced by my parents to do jee for IIT, I really wanna do game designing, but have very poor gear, just a laptop that can't even run Microsoft word without any lag, I have interest in story writing for games, and if I have resources, I would love to learn digital art, i have zero support, zero resources, and I am feeling confined with what I am doing, come home from coaching, study, nothing else, hardly get 30mins of free time, even then I have to select if I wanna watch anime, or play game, i feel like I have to decide quickly or it will be too late, I honestly don't know what I am doing with my life

We can do all this in college aswell right? If we get good nit/iit, i think it will be easier for us to go in game development rather than going to actual game development college.

@@realprakho My comment was made 4 months ago so i forgot what i wrote and i dont wanna read all of that anyways, from reading your reply, its probably me ranting about not going into iit so lets say, you get into IIT, but u couldnt get cs, now if u wanna be a game dev, u can be self taught, but a school would be great, i would have 0 problems if IIT had more seats for cs if u get IIT or NIT with cs, then i guess its ok, you just gonna have to say no to 20 lakhs package? (if u are lucky then maybe even a crore) I explained this to my parents, told them, "even if i get a 1 crore package, i will not accept it if i go to IIT" and what i get is "Do your game development with your job, its not hard to make a game" oh btw no one in my family has experience with science stream

All I am saying is, if you get cs in a good college (Presonally I would reject non-CS branch IIT if i am getting in CS in NIT or even IIIT), it will be easier for you to get in a good game dev company, rather than going to a dedicated college for game developing + your parents will be supportive too if you get a good college. Also I dont think the starting salary of game dev would be very low, it should definitely be above 10 lakhs. and even if it is lower, you were first ready to go to a game dev only college, so rejecting a 20lakh package should not be a problem for you.

@Nikhil Malanlar So, I'm currently at 11th grade,From new Delhi, School is about to end,And we actually cannot afford to do any sort of degree like CS etc.... I really love programing, I've crystal cleared of doing game programing as a carrer (Though i didn't even make a single game,But i do love programing and it actually excites me to make cool games), I've thinked of learning game programing (unity etc) online after 12th and thinking of spending atleast 3 years in self learning.... My question is,Is that right path? Cause i could still do BCA from good collage but i don't want to cause I've to take loan for that reason,Also I've to study many things rather than game development there.... So,Should i choose that path of self learning? Cause I'm really really scared,What if i won't get a job? i don't have any back up option if i fail 😥

I am in 12th and have the same dream as u bro🫂🫂 i would suggest if u can't do BTech, then just self learn and no needa loans because it's not sure in gaming industry to get a job quickly, self learn and start making games....tons of games to get a better portfolio and u can get a job in AAA companies
