Thank u for the video! I have 55yo , hooded eyes (fold almost touches lash line), very minimal lid space , along with downturned fold (past my outer corner). This technique wouldn't work for me but could u demonstrate eyeshadow basics on a model with similar eyes as mine . I'm sure there are other viewers with same eye shape. Thank u!

I have blue eyes and blonde hair. I recently tried using plum eyeliner with black mascara. I typically wear dark brown mascara and chocolate eyeliner. Holy moly! What a difference! Really makes my eyes pop!

I put on my eyebrow darkener and face makeup before I do my eyes. That way, i don't have to deal with messing up my eye liner with concealer. I'm aware there are different schools of thought on this, and many prefer to do their eyes first. And yes, sometimes I do have to clean up eye shadow that falls on my face. I guess the best way to put it is that I prefer to deal with that problem. Also, I strongly prefer to use dark brown, or brown black, or soft black mascara. My coloring is different from Nikol's; I tend to look washed out - dark blonde, medium blue eyes, fair skin - and strong black is pretty intense on me. I feel it's not very becoming as i get older. Again, it's a matter of taste, and different people have different coloring and preferences. And shimmer eye shadow is a strong "no" for me. I have crepey skin around my eyes, and it just looks bad to me. YMMV. Powder under my eyes is also a no because I have very dry skin.I use powder sparingly, usually just a light dusting on my nose. Sometimes in warm weather, a little all over my face. My point is, not everybody needs to use much powder.

I love the look! I am still struggling with using any type of eyeshadow on my hooded eyes. I end up looking better without any eyeshadow, or a natural light tone on the lower lids, only. Time to try again!

I'm going to practice it first and the next time I go out to dinner I will go for it and see if my friends compliment me. Keep in mind that having been ill most of a year I have worn the least amount of makeup ever in my lifetime. I'm not looking for shock, I'm looking for awe and my friends tell me I look healthy and glowing. Thanks for all the great tips. Thank you Nikol. I really enjoy your videos. I wanted to mention that my eyelids are so crepey, I don’t wear powder eye shadows anymore. I only use cream eyeshadow. It helps conceal the wrinkles! Have you ever thought about making a good cream eyeshadow?

Its beautiful, but i have hooded eyes and very little real estate on my eyelid. I bring the darker shade up into the outer corner, but not all the way across my crease. I'm 54 and unafraid of color. Admittedlly, I can overdo it if I'm not careful! I am going to try some of your products eventually! A friend of mine LOVES your mascara. I do love watching your techniques 😁
