I have seen a lot of youtubers saying things such as "not pro, not amateur" or "not good enough, not cheap enough" or "a camera for nobody" BUT I do like it, for me it is good! maybe if you are video center, it could not be the best option. I was going to buy the Sony 6100 BUT it was too small for me, so I went for a very familiar body, I do had have several Nikon bodies and this one is the best I had ever, Inote, I had never had a prolevel nikon, so no F4, F5, or N800 series)

This is one of the most balanced reviews of this camera I've ever seen. For the price, I honestly don't think this camera can be outdone. I bought one specifically for that reason. I can't drop 3 or 4K on a camera but wanted good quality. I got it in the D7500.

I have it for the last 6 months, so far it is Perfect for every buck. If you are on a tight budget, get this and invest in Lens. And autofocus is not an issue when using the viewfinder. Seriously, who wants to shoot with a DSLR using the LCD screen????

The D7500 is a powerfull machine, it inherits some great features from the D500. The sensor and its output is quite impressive. I see the D7500 as a trimmed down D500, only thing that I really miss is the AI indexing tab. Happy to hear that you enjoy the camera, cheers👍

I have had this camera for about 6 months and I love it. I still have not put it to the masive extreme tests but I love it. My last camera was a d5600 and I believe the 7500 is better in everyway except for the screen that does NOT go forward, so the selfies are not the best, but I got a new lense (10-20 nikon, so I just put my self in the middle and I am fine). I still have not out used the battery in one day, so maybe it is much longer lasting that the D5600 batery.... still loving it! Damasovi

@damasovi_travels1244
@damasovi_travels1244 2 жыл бұрын
@@umerahmad255 very simple, the D5600 is a more hobby oriented camera, it is cheaper, lighter and more compact. UNless you need faster shutter speeds, higher flash sync speeds, or will be taking pictures in bad weather (dust or rain) then I see no point in buying the D7500. ANd maybe the flip screen is a must for you, and that is ONLY possible in the D5600.

@Dochorahan

Let me see. The D7500 has the same sensor as the D500(the best APS-C low light sensor), it is 90% the same as a D500 with advanced metering, fast AF. The build quality is like the top-end DSLRs. The D7500 is better than the D7200 because it has a faster processor, the D500 sensor, a tilt-able touch screen, 4K video. I've never had problems with Snapbridge and transferring photos to my Iphone 11 in RAW or Jpeg full resolution or 2mp. The D7500 is incredible value still in 2021. It is smaller and cheaper than the D500, while being 90% a D500. It has weathersealing. The Touchscreen is not laggy and feels similar to my Iphone 11. You can use almost every F mount lens ever made on the D7500 because it has an in-body AF motor. The D7500 lacks a 2nd SD card slot (so what, SD cards are now cheap as dirt and very reliable), it lacks a handgrip battery option (so what, the stock battery still lasts x2 more than mirrorless cameras), the biggest downfall to this camera is Video (it needs stabilization, no crop 4K, and better AF). You might be considering mirrorless in 2021, but know that yet still the mirrorless have to catchup on lenses variety and battery life.

Cinematic filming can be done on this camera. Use the flat setting and 24fps. You can do that I do. And If You don't have flat on your camera as I do. Turn the saturation down a bit. And turn the contrast down low. And you'll get it. And set it to 24fps.

1- Want to "tweek" colors? in your Nikon? go to Picture Control, press rigth, choose a profile and press rigth again, now Tweek away. You can also flatten the image to make colors in post available too. 2- Low ligth Scenarios need larger apertures with better lenses a side from the kit lens (not eveything is ISO) 3- Face tracking is for Group Photos and 3D tracking is for moving objects , they are separate features 4- All Nikon DSLR record in Mono. (in filming, most sound is recorded seperate for post) The audio jack allows the Stereo Microphones that fit. 5- The Menu guide. Notice the button under MENU, it has a Question mark (?) , select an option in the menu screen and press that button, the screen will show you what it does, like a buit in Manual. 6- You have the scroll button on the back and on top rigth you have the aperture symbol. Hold it down to change Aperture, realize to change speed when Shooting Manual only. 7- The "Hour Glass", make sure you are using a fast SD card as recommend in the Manual, since it can compromise refresh rates when shooting at full resolution. 8- The D800 Series is for Studio Work, The D7500 is the new D90, witch is a more for travel, sports and wildlife. 9- Cinematic Film making can be done with higher end and fixed lenses. Usually 2.8 apeture or above (your kit lens is not a movie lens) 10- Cannon or Any other camera also depend on the lenses to get results kit lenses can only attempt to emulate PS: Hope you do another one.

At 20-21 Megapixels, chances are very good your photo quality is more limited by your ability, the camera's dynamic range/color accuracy, and your lens quality unless you already have professional level lenses. Bumping up to 24-25 MP will not yield a discernable unless all those other factors are all top notch already. At 21 MP you are already finer than 35mm film, and can print a very respectable poster-sized image with minimally noticeable loss of quality (36x24" at 150 ppi, which requires close viewing to discern individual pixels). 24 MP is not enough extra data to print that size at the next higher standard printing resolution (200 ppi), and not enough extra data to notice the difference when viewing digitally.

I think it was more about the price as the D7500 came out in 2017. At this time it's price was really near to the Nikon-APSC-flagship model D500. But in the year 2019 the price fell dramatically at around 800 bucks. You just have to know that this is first and foremost a photography camera. If you want to record high end videos, then I would recommend Canon, Sony, Panasonic or Fuji. But for stills the Nikon D7500 is a very good choice.

Will this be a great camera for landscape?(the same price range please) And what lens should I use if I do buy this camera?
@mastadodo
@mastadodo 4 жыл бұрын
@ReKaze The D5600 is cheaper, but not by very much. Its not better than the D7500 in any way, except for being smaller/lighter and having a more flexible screen. If you're a beginner and want to do mainly landscape, get a (used) D3x00 with a 10-24mm lens. Otherwise the 18-55 kit lens is fine for many purposes, but don't forget to consider the crop factor (18mm is around 27mm on APS-C).

The new af-p 10-20mm is a great and cheap ultra wide zoom. And stabilised also good for video. Even with the crop in 4k still 22mm.

what type of consumer are you? I bough mine in 2019 and no need to sell it, and I will own it until it does not work and it is too expensive to fix it. I hope that is more or less 5 to 10 years. That is the type of consumer I am, I use all until the end, but if you like to change things when something else , newer is around, then this is not for you, maybe mirrorless is for you since it is newer than DSLR´s. For the price, and staying in Nikon, then see the Z50 I did but for me DSLR is still more of the option.

@@damasovi_travels1244 Tell you what kind of consumer I am, I have a Fujifilm S700 that threw it's main screen leaving me the EVF to use, takes only a 2 GB SD Card that my wife got me some 15 years ago, and just to see, I sent it in to Fuji to see if the screen MIGHT be fixed(though I'm sure I knew better). So I'll drive the wheels off something too :) I don't follow the nest "new and improved" thing out there because change isn't all it's cracked up to be. Especially see this in Cameras. I'm still in between now based on Availability, DSLR with Mirrorless if I can't find what I want in the former. Thx!!

@@waynejones205 dear sir, I think you are in my club of "use it until you break it!" The D7500 would be super for you. I love it for the reasons of being heavy, robust body, with a lot of features and only the video is not the best (think Sony A6100,6400 or better) but great for everything I do. I do not see myself buying a Z5-or the like since they are good but what I have now it works just fine and I do not need more.

Can you please elaborate on the video flaws you mentioned? 4K 2x crop? Can't tweak colors in post? What do you mean??
@RobotronSage
@RobotronSage 4 жыл бұрын
He elaborated on the video flaws by using the exact terminology you mentioned. If you are looking to purchase such capable cameras perhaps this is terminology you should be somewhat familiar with already. However we all start somewhere so i shall help you with your questions. A simple google search would have given you the same answers, however. i.e ''what is crop in photography'' ''what is post in photography'' Post = post production. Editing. Tweaking colours = tweaking colours. But even this is misleading because you should know he is only saying that because there's no equivalent of a ''RAW'' file for video. But you can set your colour profile to ''flat'' and it should do a similar, yet inferior, job. 4k 2x crop means in 4k resolution the image is cropped 2x. Meaning your 50mm lens has now become effectively a 100mm lens. It is ''zoomed in'' twofold, digitally. So to achieve a 50mm equivalent ''focal length'' (more like focal width in this context) you would need something like a 25mm lens. It makes your images ''narrower'' or ''zoomed in'' by default. In the 4k mode.

This guy is flat out lying to everyone. 1, this camera is very respected and is not "the camera the Internet loves to hate". 2. The D7500 uses phase detect AF through the viewfinder, not contrast detect as he asserts. Contrast detect is used for "live view", but what professional or wildlife photographer uses live view? none.

is that whole thing about the mp vs print size really valid? i've seen a lot of conflicting statements. for example the nikon d4/s are 16mp cameras, but many professionals use them to make extremely large prints. I don't know of any one who traded their d4s for say 2-3 d800's for pixel counts. the d5100 vs d4s are not created equal image wise merely because 16.2 mp. I feel like the quality of said pixels ultimately matters more than pixel counts, even if we ignore all of the fake pixels due to interpolation and just go with actual sensor resolutions. Obviously there are some exceptions, where if we go to one extreme of a 1mp image from an outstanding sensor, it likely will never produce valid prints from a typical viewing distance, but will a 200 ppi vs 300ppi make a signficant difference if the creator nailed the photo.

Well compared to other DSLR that have a Low Pass Filter in them, this should fare out better as it doesn't have any filter in front of the actual Sensor, also given it has very good 20MP APS-C Sensor, & Higher ISO support with lower Signal to Noise Ratio, so you'd be able to use it at little bit higher ISO Settings without worrying too much about the Noise introduced. This will work in both manner, as it is also + with special purpose Astrophotography Lenses from Rokinon, William Optics, etc + with Telescopes(you'll need an Adapter, that you may ask your Tellescope Provider whenever you Buy that by mentioning what Camera You own, they should be able to bundle it up with your order) All in all, It should be good for Astrophotography & you'll sure have fun if you are just Beginner or an Amateur in Astrophotography. Though if you looking for Pro Grade Astrophotography Camera, CCD Cameras purpose build for Astrophotography are the way to go + that also depends on what kind of Astrophotography you are considering, like Wide Angle Shots of Milky Way & Night Sky mostly, or you'll be Zooming onto some distant or smaller Subjects like Nebulae or Distant Galaxies. For better clarity try checking out some Astrophotography KZfaq channels, like "Astrobackyard" & related channels. I myslef'm planning to start my Astrophotography journey with this Camera & Rokinon Lense(s) in the beginning

Help me, the sensor is a 20.9 mp, just shy of 21mp, far more mp than saying 20mp or missing out on 4mp. Find it "interesting" when specs are layed out in detail then people round off the mp count on the low end . . . hmmm. Maybe this rounding off falls in line with the per gallon prices displayed, $2.90 9/10. At this price you're within 1/10 of a cent of being $2.91. I use this camera and find what it outputs is REALLY EXCEPTIONAL - shoot raw!

You see d7200 owners losing their shit online all the time on how their 2 extra megapixels and 2 as cards completely destroys the d7500. But they’re just making themselves feel better for having older tech because the d7500 has a better low light sensor, faster processor and more buffer, lighter, tilting touchscreen, 4K video and better AF. Oh, btw you can buy a battery grip for the d7500. They sell them at b&hphoto or adorama.
