Nikon D800 Waterfall Photography at Jigger Creek Georgia!

I use my Nikon D800 and the 24-70 f/2.8 lens to do some waterfall photography of Jigger Creek Falls in Georgia. The D800 came out in 2012 and I bought mine in 2014. I show here that the D800 is still a competent camera for landscape photography.

Great shots Phil! I like the last photo ,the way you framed the waterfall with the trees. That old D800 and the lens are so good. I like the magnetic filters are really nice.

Make more videos with the d800 pls! Like the bird photography that you did, still I’m not yet convinced to get the d800. Also nice video!

Beautiful shots! I love the mossy green colors. I need to get out and do some landscape shots. Spring is here in Michigan and the trees are all blossoming.

Nice work Phil. D800 was my first full frame and it was good to see it in action. I’m not bothering getting my 24-70mm focus motor fixed. Will just use as a manual lens from now on. Thanks for sharing the video 🤙🙏

Thank you! I hope to get my hands on a used D850 at some point. I just need to find a really good deal. Tell them I am continuing to enjoy using my D800 from time to time. That’s a good idea about your 24-70.

Nice shots! I really like that 24-70 lens. I sold mine. I like the shot at the 6:18 mark the best.

I enjoy bird photography and landscape photography. I just wish the landscape photography videos did as well in terms of views as the bird photography videos do. Thank you for your support!

@@PhilThach I do realize birding is your thing and I watch those as well. I follow several other KZfaq channels that are strictly Landscape and they do very well. Either way, it’s photography and that is what we are here for,right? Keep doing what you do. It’s all good.

Great to see you use the good old D800 ,I still have mine that I bought about 12 years ago and want to still use it once in a while, along with that same great old lens(if it is the non V R version) which you are inspiring me to do, feels kind of clunky and noisy now but maybe that kind of adds to it's personality , still takes great photos!

Thank you! I guess I didn’t count that one in the pool when I picked a favorite mainly because it is the obvious composition and the one I always shoot when I go there. And you are right, I have made that shot in the fall and it’s really great. I hope to do it again this year.

Great shots Phil, love the location. Love the the 800, that is still a beast. Nothing beats Nikon colors, nothing. I really like when photogs bring out their old equipment . I really don't see where new equipment betters the old. Thanks Phil , great video.
