😄😄👋👋Thanks a lot for this video, i had the same problem with a Nikon FM that i bought several months ago. Everything worked perfectly when testing all the shutter speeds. It was only recently that i bought a Nikon MD12 Motordrive, i attached this and then started going through all the different shutter speeds, 1000 ok, 500 ok, 125 ok, Suddenly when i hit the shutter button on 60th the mirror locked up, and the motordrive wouldn't advance, so looking here on KZfaq i found your video. I watched it fully 5 times before deciding i will give it a go, i tried on 7 different occasions, and viola suddenly everything clicked into place. Perfecto :) The camera is working perfectly as before although i have not tried with the motordrive for the moment 😀Very simple in fact, 6 screws, a brass plate removal. I am still not sure what i did in fact, but i obviously did something right poking around. Anyway many thanks for explaining in detail each step, and especially all the close up camera work.

Gracias por el video. Tengo un modelo FE pero con un serial mucho mas reciente que el que presentas en las imágenes, comienza por 37, la que muestras, en 32. No solo eso. Mi modelo es completamente diferente en el mecanismo del obturador. Por ejemplo, la platina dorada que aparece en 1' 58", es mas alargada en el punto donde está el tornillo que está en dirección a la montura del lente. Al lado de ese tornillo, hay otra pestaña por donde pasa un mecanismo que no posee el modelo con el que trabajas. Así que debo investigar cómo solventar el problema en mi modelo. Gracias de todos modos. Una pregunta, ¿usaste algún producto para limpiar y luego lubricar?

Most likely the battery was dead and the shutter lock up. You set it to manual release mode and it unlocked the shutter.
