I've seen a lot of Angelina Jordan reactions recently and many from vocal coaches but yours is standing out. You were not just admiring her talent or analyzing the performance but also tasting the song dip by dip as a professional wine expert would enjoy a glass of extraordinary quality wine, discovering all the tiniest details and nuances.

The story of her bare feet is one of unbelievable commitment and caring. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling in the middle east (her grandmother is Iranian), and she came across a young girl close to her age who was working in the street offering to weigh people with a bathroom scale for money. She had no shoes on her feet and her feet were cracked and in pretty bad shape. They talked for a while and then the little girl mentioned how nice she thought Angelina's shoes were. Angelina asked her if she had any shoes and she said no, so Angelina gave her the shoes off her feet. Angelina asked her what her dreams were and the little girl said she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told the little girl that she wanted to be a star and sing for the world. The little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day and asked Angelina to not forget about her. Angelina made a promise at that time that any time she sang in public she would sing barefoot to remember this little girl and bring awareness to the suffering of children around the world. To this day, over 7 years later, she has stayed true to that commitment. She remains a very grounded and humble young lady She has spent the past 7 years pouring out her soul and her talent to help people who are not as fortunate as her. She donated much, if not most of her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children's charities and has performed in benefit concerts across the globe in support of disadvantaged children and other social causes (raising over 20 million Euros).

Yes, I am much impressed by the tidbit she offered in an interview 3 years later. She added, unprompted, "the shoes were my favourite sea-green ankle boots" in a whistful voice, like she was still clearly remembering them. For a 6 year old to offer such a treasured possession to a stranger simply because the stranger needed them is just amazing! So unlike a small child She showed us her hand written diary pages where the memory was recorded in the neat printing of a (precossious) six year old.

The biggest surprise here is that this is the first time you’ve heard Angelina. How can that be? I think she is the best singer I’ve ever heard-and that goes across many genres. I won’t repeat all the things the other commenters already said, but you just need to start listening. To get an idea of Angelina’s flexibility-and why she’s call the girl with a thousand voices-listen to her cover of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind. The soul you heard in Bohemian Rhapsody is turned up about 200%. Or for Angelina in full upbeat jazz mode, listen to her original, Seventh Heaven-vibes of Amy Winehouse and old school jazz. Her voice is magical, and her ability to cover so many styles authentically is hard to believe. When I said she’s the best singer I’ve ever heard, I wasn’t exaggerating. I’ve followed music for over seventy years. Angelina is absolutely the best. Just start listening.

Welcome to Angelina's world. She is an extraordinary young artist with over 140 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 and has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 15, she is a seasoned performer with 8 years of recording and performing. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norah Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and many more. Here is a good sampling of my favorites of hers that cover a variety of genres and ranges. I have included some of her live rehearsal sessions which actually blow away other performers produced releases. This is just a short list and other fans of Angelina will have the same length list with different songs. I have rarely heard one of her performances that I have thought was not up to par. Thank you for this reaction video and welcome to Angelina’s world. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 140 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. She will wow and surprise you all the time. 15 years old today who is an excellent role model for today’s youth and her best is yet to come. Thank you for reading. P.S. Angelina Jordan just released a new cover song of Whitney Houston featuring Mariah Carey “When You Believe” here is the link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q6ecid16nZOZmIU.html I would love if you can react to it. Beautiful and informative reaction which will help make more people aware of Angelina Jordan and we angels (fans) greatly appreciate that. 13 year old Angelina created a genius arrangement for one of the most beloved songs on Earth then delivered a flawless performance. Angelina is a true music prodigy but the only one I know who specializes in vocals. As talented as Angelina is, she is an even better human being, humble and filled with empathy. The reason she always performs without shoes is included in the biography I compiled for her. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on KZfaq. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 and 7 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on KZfaq recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.” At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZfaq went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. On June 27, 2018 Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. Angelina performed on America’s Got Talent The Champions which aired in January 2020. She earned the Golden Buzzer for her performance of her unique arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. She sang her cover of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in the Finals but didn’t make it into the final 5 contestants. There is much debate over how and why Angelina was eliminated. Angelina has covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, all of which are available on KZfaq. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZfaq, search on Angelina Jordan every song as a fan put all songs in one file. In August 2020, her manager and uncle Michael Astar announced Angelina has signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. On 11/6/20 her first single on Republic Records, Million Miles written by Angelina, was released. She dedicated it to anyone who has lost a loved one. Her 2nd single, 7th Heaven is a jazzy, upbeat, inspirational song and was also written by Angelina. Angelina’s family requested Republic Records to allow her to have as normal a childhood as possible until she completes high school and so far it appears that is the plan. Angelina Jordan is a humble, compassionate young lady of very few words when she is not singing. She is on videos saying she wants to sing for the entire world and also that she wants to improve the quality of life for all the children on Earth. She has helped to raise millions of dollars for children’s charities and environmental causes. Musicians who have worked with her have been quoted saying Angelina is among the most talented musicians they have worked with and she is the boss in the room when rehearsing. Remarkable for a girl of few words when not singing. For Angelina, it is all about the music and not her. Personally, I find Angelina’s voice the most soulful and emotional voice of my lifetime. Angelina as a person, inspires me to be a better person and live longer to listen to her sing for as long as I can.

Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! Yes, there is a lot more of Angelinafor you to see! You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Frank Sinatra to Etta James to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice! Her versatility is unmatched and she can (and often does) bring a touch of jazz to any performance. If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Wait until you find out why she performs barefooted. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library.

I always enjoy a professional voice coach analyzing Angelina. They point out the many subtle and complicated things she does with her voice that no one else has ever done before, at least not all in one song. Her ability to do these things is innate, not learned from many years of coaching. The rest of us just feel the song, the chills, the goosebumps, the tears. Just look at her performance of the Tom Jones classic "I Who Have Nothing" at age six. She is never scared or nervous. It is like she knows it is going to be wonderful and she is happy to share it with everyone.

Tervetuloa kyytiin, Anna. Thanks for this first beautiful reaction and analysis with Angelina. At only 13, Angelina created a version of Bohemian so simple and exciting that it gets under your skin and never goes never, you can listen to it as many times as you want, but she always moves you. This little girl is a genius and a real musical talent, I don't know how to describe her otherwise. It's really amazing how this little girl has dealt with the greatest songs of the last decades, often performed by the most talented singers, no matter if women or men, and has inevitably managed to appropriate the song, adapt it to her sensitivity and turn it into another song, often better than the original.❤️

Wonderful reaction, Anna! It's always a special moment to watch someone discovering Angelina for the first time 😊 She was 13 when this was recorded but she's been singing since almost her birth! 😂 She is Norwegian and entered Norway's Got Talent at the age of 7. She turned 8 during the competition, that she won! Don't know if someone already posted the barefoot story, but here goes. When Angelina was 6 years old she was on vacations in the middle east (her maternal grandmother is Iranian) with her family and she saw a girl on the street, about her age, that was weighing people on a bathroom scale for money. She was probably intrigued with the situation and decided to go and talk to that girl. The girl told her she was an orphan and had to provide for her and her siblings. They talked for a while and having been asked by Angelina the girl confided that her dream was to become a doctor but she would never be able to because of her situation. Angelina told never to give up on her dream and answered that she wanted to be a super star and sing for the whole world. The girl had no shoes and her feet were scarred. Having known that she had no shoes at all, Angelina took her boots off her feet and offered them to the girl who didn't want to accept but ended up keeping them. The girl then said to Angelina that she would always pray for her to achieve her dream and asked her never to forget her. And that is why Angelina is always barefoot whenever she performs to an audience, in honor of that little girl and the children in the world that have no shoes. Sorry for the long post! You have over 130 videos from Angelina on KZfaq to choose from. I'll be looking forward to your next reaction to her 😊

Your preview photo shows what you think! I'm looking forward to hearing (reading) what you have to say. I was among the lucky few who watched a posted video of her audition not knowing what the song was ahead of time. Turns out that was pulled down in under 24 hours and then AGT posted their "authorized" video a few days later. In a case like this, I think the added surprise as to her song choice really added to the delight. But I came to it with a couple of years of Angelina, so I knew it would be great no matter what the song was. I have yet to be underwhelmed by anything she's done.

Anna, as a frequent listener to reactors who are new to watching and hearing Angelina, I have a different view than some others who often make great suggestions. I am not a big fan of new reactors going to the beginning of her performances (very young NGT, I Got a Spell on You, etc) and making your way to the present. You are never going to have time or inclination to watch 140 videos. I am the opposite opinion, that you start with a couple of her very latest releases (esp. originals) and then a sampling of very early, middle, etc.. Just a thought. Again, thanks for the “deep dive” quality of your efforts.

This has been up for an hour at this moment. Sorry to get here a little late. At the time she performed here, she was still a thirteen year old girl. A common refrain by people seeing/hearing her for the first time is "old soul". When she auditioned on Norske Talenter, her song choice was "Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday. She was Seven (!) years old and she nailed it! I've keeping track of her progress ever since. Since this AGT audition and subsequent performances, she's been signed to >Republic< Records. Your instincts about her bare feet are excellent! I'm impressed, Anna. She always performs barefoot. Per Wikipedia "She always performs barefoot, after befriending a young shoeless girl while traveling when she was six years old. Jordan wrote a book about the experience and became the youngest published author in Norway." There are more details, such as Angelina removing her own shoes and giving them to this new friend who responded by telling Angelina she would remember her in her daily prayers. My request for you to watch her cover (at age ten) "Here Comes the Sun", at the charity Norwegian Refugee Relief was a reflection of her personal values. I'm really happy you have now experienced what she brings. As a bonus, you can expect a whole lot of new visitors to your channel in the next couple of weeks!

It's like the music is flowing through every joint in her body, infusing them with the rhythm. I'll bet she's a fabulous dancer, or could be if so inclined. A very nice first reaction to Angelina. Thank you. As a vocal coach, you will find much to talk about with almost any of her videos, going all the way back to when she was just starting out in the public eye at 7 and 8 years of age on _Norway's Got Talent_ [Norske Talenter] (by which point she had already gotten perhaps a year or two of vocal training in an afterschool program - before that, her training was informal: listening to and singing along with the greats of vocal jazz and pop, starting from the age of 1½). Interestingly, she doesn't seem to have ever covered Norah Jones, so I assume the vocal similarity (not to mention any musical similarity between this arrangement and "Don't Know Why") is due largely to shared influences and similar musical tastes. In any case, Angelina likes to mix it up and try different things, so your next 10 reactions to her might reveal 10 totally different styles. She has covered Whitney a few times (including, as it turns out, both her very first recorded vocal performance when she was 1½ [singing the title line of Whitney's version of "I Will Always Love You"] and her most recent cover posted just yesterday ["When You Believe"]), but the artists who have most directly influenced her are Billie Holiday, Adele, and Amy Winehouse, all of which she has covered multiple times to great effect. If you want a nice, extensive overview of a lot of Angelina's best stuff, search for Rusty Shackleford's playlist called "Angelina Jordan Live, Through the Years (Chronological)". Look through that list, and pick just anything that jumps out at you. I will call your attention especially to all of her performances on NGT (videos 2-5 in Rusty's list), "What a Difference a Day Makes" (#6), "I Put a Spell on You" (#13), "Feeling Good" on _The Stream Gir Tilbake_ (#22), "Cry Me a River" (#27), "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (#32), "Million Years Ago" (#46), "Born to Die" (#47), "Stay" (#48), "California Dreamin'" (#50), her original song "What Is Life" (#51), "Young and Beautiful" (#57), "Wicked Game" (#58), "Valerie" (#61), another AJ original "Shield" (#62), "I'm Still Holding Out for You" (#63), "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" (#70), "Happier" (#71), "When We Were Young" (#78), her other 2 performances on AGT (#85-86), and (some of) the stuff she has released under the auspices of Republic Records (#88-91), with whom she signed last summer. And there's at least a dozen others not on that list that I would like to point you to, but then I'd probably have to start putting actual links in this comment, which might anger the KZfaq gods… So I will refrain. Looking forward to more AJ reactions…

WOW, what a wonderful Reaction. Very technical and informative. A little warning here, Angelina is addictive. Oh yes, and she always gives you the unexpected. she as over 130 covers and about six originals, some she penned when she was 10/11. Her covers go back to when she was six years old, though there are pieces of covers as far back to about 18 months old. She also has new music, covers and originals released this year. She was signed with Republic Records when she was 14 (last year). She is 15 today (born in Jan of 2006.) I can’t wait for you’re next reaction of hers.

Great reaction. You should hear her in BEAST mode. I Put a Spell on You, the black and white version at 9 years old. Then her 4 songs at 6 years old, or the 4 songs, in order, on Norway's Got Talent 2014 at 7 and 8 years old.

wow! You are amazing. Your analytics is a college course in itself. Any way, thank you for really spending the time to break AJ's music down. By the way, she arranges all of her songs and has since she was 7 or 8. You should react to another one soon and if you want to hear a 9-year-old sing a song that sounds impossible try, "I Put A Spell On You". If you want to hear a 15-year-old sing a cover that's arguably better than the original, check out the Adele cover "All I Ask"

Angelina is a musical genius who learned to sing with Jazz very young listening to the greats thanks to her grandma collection - Mery Zamani, a renamed Iranian painter and poet - and searches in KZfaq. With 8 years old she won NGT show singing 'Gloomy sunday' by Billie Holiday (audition), 'I'm a fool to want you' also by Billie Holiday and a capella, 'Bang Bang' by Nancy Sinatra and finally 'Summertime' which was a beautiful rendition to the song. She has released 5 originals and made more than 130 covers since then, and last year she signed with Republic Records and she is working on her album releasing 2 songs for the moment, 'Million Miles' and '7th Heaven', 2 gems of a very expected treasure. And there is so more to say...

I do listen to a lot of jazz and that is why I like AJ so much. You should listen to her in Beast mode covering "I put a spell on you" (the black and white version) when she was nine years old. That cover of this Screaming Jay Hawkins song is epic. In term of pure jazz her in-studio rehearsal of Sinatra's "I'm a fool to want you" is simply amazing. Here she is highly influence by the Billy Holiday version. You mention that you like soul than you should try her cover of Etta James' "I'd rather be Blind" or her live cover of "Loving You". She also has 5 originals. her latest "7th Heaven" is an awesome upbeat jazzy pop song. She has more than a 130+ covers on YT. They are all interesting listen. AJ is also know as the "barefoot princess" just do a google search or one of her "Angel" will tell you about her inspiring story. Welcome to the Angelina rabbit hole and enjoy! And yes, great and very informative reaction, Great work.

probably? ...no: surely! ;-) Hi Anna, you got already a ton of comments with so much information... but let me send you my "standard firsties comment" too - may be you find some interesting new information in it ;-) So, here it is - a wee bit personalized ;-) Welcome to the universe of Angelina Jordan and thanks a billion for this nice and professional reaction to her - I'm sure to hear more reactions from you! ...because it is... ...too late! From now on you are assimilated in Angelinas entourage! Resistance is futile... Even if you won't believe it and if you are in denial about it: Only listen to one song sung by Angelina Jordan and you are hooked on listening her voice! May be you aren't aware of it yet... a legend says in rare cases there are humans who can resist.... but I can't believe it ;-) Every time it's a pleasure to watch people reacting to Angelina Jordan - especially when it is the first time - and I hope to see more of your reactions on Angelina Jordan... ;-) May be you wonder, what videos you should next react to ;-) ... There is a big pile of over 130 videos on KZfaq with Angelina Jordans rehearsals, covers and originals... She is born 10th January 2006 in Oslo/Norge (English is her 3rd language ;-) ), sung her first notes of a Whitney Houston song with 18 months (link see down), started researching the internet for Jazz 3 yo, entered Norske Talenter (Norwegian Got Talent) 7 yo and won it 8 yo, was on AGT The Champions (recorded Oct. 2019, aired Jan. 2020) where she didn't won - some rumours say because she/her mother didn't sign the contract with the enterprise of Simon Cowell for to stay independend - meanwhile she has signed with Republic Records (musicnorway.no/aktuelt/industry-talk-michael-astar ). "Above the water": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ialjeZOTsLHPY4k.html - interesting voice - even if EDM is not my preferred genre ;-) ... here her "mini concert" from AGT the Champions (Watch out: With these videos other reactors have the most problems with copyright claims...): "Bohemian Rhapsody": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bc2Bn82pyseypYE.html "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLyCirx20J64Y3U.html “Someone You Loved": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zs2fkrd60prOpH0.html ...and for those, who like to hear it with the audio from the rehearsal without the noise from the audience at the performance a version edited from pa1189j : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hZx6qpB2ua6VnXU.html Besides she is mostly making her very own arrangement there are some very interesting videos of her, where she uses the original arrangement or a big one of someone else like "I Have Nothing" (Whitney Houston Tribute) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m7qTqdmAm6iXeaM.html or "Fly Me To The Moon" in the arrangement of Quincy Jones (rehearsal with concert mixed audio for his birthday party in the O2 arena): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbObqtKiurSym3k.html . And here is a video where it is explained (with English subtitles) why she performs barefoot: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d5N_fq-k0bWbZI0.html and here an Interview in the Norwegian TV (with English subtitles) from 2015 after she has published her book about the story why she is barefoot when performing: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8lzf6eKlam3imw.html In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield"). So she is a real all-rounder and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next... All the other things like more recommendation, chronological playlists and so on you can read in the comments of the mega-fans like Fernando F., Rusty (AJ videos in chronological order kzfaq.info/love/55am_6Y5-Fj4ri8xOInstA), Andy Schnell, ... And a little Question: When you react to her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN12n9J0tb7ec6c.html - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) it would be nice to react in the same reaction video IN ADVANCE to the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956 - Live: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdF3g8uh29fYf5c.html or another version of it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdh-o6tnzt_Tm30.html and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( ;-) ): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eMhplMppx8nMj4k.html or as Audio-Studio-Version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bpiTl9FyutzXp2w.html) that's real fun :-D - and than you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards Andreas

Angelina's musical roots are firmly in Jazz. She auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was seven years old - she sang Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, she picked the song herself, against the wishes of her mother, she liked the melody - she discovered it one day when searching through KZfaq on her mother's I-pad. She later got the album, Lady in Satin, in the second round of NGT she sang I'm a fool to want you, the first song on the album. In the final she sang Ella Fitzgerald's Summertime - to win the competition. Very many of Angelina's fans are quite old, people that had experienced the old jazz classics back in the 50's and 60's. Angelina covers a number of genres, and has perhaps encouraged many fans to embrace other styles of music. Angelina has set herself a goal, when she was just six years old, of singing to the whole world, rather a challenge for a young girl to set for herself...

Man bedenke Ihr Alter! Uns bei all Ihren musikalischen Talenten....

There are so many artists with fantastic voices out there, like Diana Ankundinova, Daniela Tuleshova, Dimash, Marcelito Pomoy....all with fantastic ranges and techniques. But this means not much to me. What really is important is that you can transport the emotion of your song. Therefore you need a lot of passion for what you are doing. That Passion can be seen (just my 2cents) best in the songs of Angelina Jordan and the band "The Warning" (3 sisters from Mexico) - start with their first YT success "Enter Sandman" (Metallica cover) when they were 12, 10 and 8. Next could (should!) be their new song "Choke" - I prefer the official video. Greetings from Germany and stay healthy!

Thanks again! This is another insightful reaction (as we have come to expect). I agree on the Norah Jones influence on this song particularly. I’m really interested to see what you’ll say about some other songs where she sings in more of her signature Billie Holiday influenced style. I think she uses extreme Vocal Fry to produce the rasp she has when she sings that way, but none of that style is used in this particular song. But it looks like she can apply vocal fry to any point in her range. Im looking forward to your opinion on that. I’m also mad at you for teasing us with that lovely little larynx ripple. One thing I did learn today is that apparently Finnish has no “tw” sound, so you approximate it with a “tv” kind of sound. That was cute to hear. About jazz, yes! I’m a huge fan of Miles, Monk, and Coltrane. I also listen to many contemporary artists including Cassandra Wilson (I would pay you to react to one of her songs) Gregory Porter, Hiromi, E.S.T., Joey Alexander, Cecile McLorin Salvant, and many others. Quick question- have you heard of Cem Adrian or heard his rendition of “Summertime”?
