@@hukama6911 Early versions of the Spitfire would lose power if you did that because fuel would get forced into the carburettor as opposed to the engine. I also found out the solution they came up with is called "Miss Shilling's Orifice" which is hilarious.

@@mannmctrash yes it would force fuel into the carburator WHEN YOU PITCH THE NOSE DOWN. you can still roll it upside down then pitch it up.

@@hukama6911 Rolling the plane upside down would cause the throttle valve to become flooded with fuel, causing a brief engine stall, which enemy pilots could detect due to puffs of black smoke from the engine, they fixed the issue in later models. The point I'm making is the Spitfire wasn't designed for things that caused fuel to flow in an unexpected way, quite an oversight for a fighter plane.

I support this idea! The car/boat challenge with James’ Triumph springs to mind.

*Jennifer's house. Don't care, he's still Jennifer forever more to me. What's interesting is that the Porsche did so well. They haven't used 4 wheel steering in a car since the 959 which would make you think they saw no point in it. Obviously it works really well so it'll be interesting to see if they'll implement it in other cars in the future.

It was the slowest of the three because they sandbagged for the sake of the gag. Chris Harris put the exact same three cars around the same track (I believe the same weekend though it could have been a couple days apart) and set faster times by a couple seconds in all three, the P1 was the fastest on its standard tires and on its optional Cup 2Rs (still street legal) it widened the gap to more than 2 seconds over the other two. The P1 is the fastest of the three on most wide open tracks, the 918 is the fastest on tight technical tracks with lots of low speed traction zones.

Did you not listen to them at the end talking about how the McLaren was faster on the tires you can buy it with, but that the bet was made on condition that they were all on the same tire, so the McLaren had to be fitted with slightly worse tires than it normally runs? They had official MSO (McLaren) technicians there though, so they should've had no problem adjusting the car's set-up to account for the different tires.

There has to be a time for the P1 going around Dunsfold. McLaren uses it as one of their test tracks.

I saw that and in his case the McLaren was the fastest. So either it was the driver or more likely the Grand Tour results were staged for entertainment.

Exactly, that's what I'm trying to say for a boat past 5 years. Nevertheless, it's a conspiracy theory but it works perfectly.

They couldn't do the bet because of a deal with the BBC that they couldn't use any material from Top Gear, including the bet. Also the original deal was if the P1 was fastest around Dunsfold, which they could never do

it's because they swapped out the stock pirelli trofeo rs which are a better tyre than the ones available stock on the other 2. the michelins are legitimately twice as good and the mclaren would have been first on the board if it was allowed to use them. Personally I think they should have been comparing stock to stock, having better tyres is part of the car after all
