I think that people on the internet tend to be really harsh because hearing what bad things other people do make you feel better about yourself. Why do you think people like reality TV? There is an endless amount of messy drama on there. Why do you think people are so invested in KZfaqr drama? The issue is, you were a kid. I can’t imagine the physiological damage that goes behind that. Early in your development, you learn that people will be ruthless if you make a mistake despite the fact that kids ARE SUPPOSED TO MAKES MISTAKES. THAT IS HOW THEY LEARN. Unfortunately, the only way to prevent this is to stop a child from going onto the internet in the first place. But technology has become a huge part of our lives, ESPECIALLY, and I mean ESPECIALLY, generation Z. There are massive amounts of children who have grown up with full, unrestricted access to the internet, including me. My advice to you is forgive yourself for your past mistakes because they were probably normal things to do when you’re really young and don’t have the mental capacity to understand why some things are bad and the consequences behind them. I’m proud of you for growing to become a better person even though it’s also a normal part of development to no longer make the same mistakes you did as a kid.
