You should write a book to include these techniques and other of your many excellent methods. You could reference your KZfaq videos in the book. I would certainly buy a copy. It would also make a nice gift. It would be an excellent addition to a new knitter kit for a grand hild or other loved one. Let your followers know about your book. I think it would be a bestseller in the knitting community.

To split yarn I rub it close to the work to flatten it and find the strands. I put a finger through and follow it up through the end. It’s really quick.

The very last technique of splitting the cotton yarn is exactly what I needed a few months ago! Wish I had seen this video back then, but in the future all cotton lace projects are getting this treatment! Thank you for making these super helpful videos!

Wonderful tips. Thank you, l've been knitting off and on for 50 years and still learned something new. I wanted to add my tip for anyone who, for whatever reason can't use a spit splice or other join and is worrying about running out of yarn - and therefore needing to join in a new ball - in the middle of a row. l estimate how much yarn l'll need by using my working yarn to measure loosely across the row (or the remaining stitches in the row) the same way you did to estimate the tail in your cast-on demonstration - if l have 4 X the width of the row, l know l'll have enough yarn to get to the edge before l run out. My favourite joining method is a spit splice but, l'll definitely try a couple of the others you mentioned and although l mostly manage to knit in my ends l'llbe using your method to weave them in when l need to. Also, for years I've successfully used a version of the spit splice on yarn that doesn't felt - l split the old and new strands in half for about 10 cm and twist half from each strand together, l knit a couple of stitches with the old yarn and the ½ strand of the new yarn together, then let the half strand from the old ball drop, knit the yarn l've made by twisting the old and new strands together and when l get to the other end of my join l knit a couple of stitches with the new yarn and the ½ strand of the old yarn. I let the unused other halves dangle behind the work and trim them off later. l've never had the courage to try a russian join as for some reason l worry they'll come undone after a few washes. 😊

I'm a beginner knitter and recently purchased the How to knit the galaxy pattern book, and of course decided to choose a challenging fair isle type star wars sweater as my first project. I did some youtube research here with your videos, and just from observing your techniques I was able to land here at the end of my sweater with binding off and hiding all the color changing tails. I wanted to thank you as I thought this sweater which my book as mentioned is one of the more difficult projects was going to be a lot more harder than it actually was. What I really like is that, whenever you need to explain something that is already in another video, you explain it again, so we don't have to go and watch several videos just to find a peace of information here and there. Another great thing in your work is that you don't have a magic solution to everything. You explain several different techniques and show us its strengths and weaknesses so we can use whatever is better for our specific project. Just a great job!

I watched one before watching yours and thought, “uh huh, got it.” But then your channel popped up and I remembered how you cover every aspect of your subject, so I watched yours too. So I decided to watch some videos of your channel. After watching this video, I was convinced to weave in some ends after all, and let me tell you: I never have been so fast weaving in ends before. Until today I always woven in my ends with duplicate stitch for at lest 10 sts. Today I hid my ends in the seam quickly. 1.000 thanks to sharing your experience with us.
