I was saw them twice in '94/'95. And both shows it was like you were terrified and amazed at the same time. It was like if a horror film could turn into a rock concert, the Self-Destruct Tour was it.

i was in the right place at the right time (hanging around outside the gym where NIN was to play, 5 hours before showtime-Sept.'94)when me and a friend got to meet Trent, who was riding his mountain bike around the grounds outside. Only 15 years old, and got to meet my hero at my first rock concert...and what a show! i'll always love NIN, but their energy onstage back then was amazing!!

It rocks harder because it was a much more intense band back then. Which is pretty amazing because it's a pretty intense live performance now. But back then it was on some other-worldly level. Like your body would start getting shivers in the audience. It was crazy.

This record is a masterpiece. Each music fan must listening to this ! This is genius. This is Nine Inch Nails.

he set up a drumkit in various rooms and mic'd it with two PZM's on the walls, recorded a session, chopped it, sampled it and programmed a pattern. I remember an old article about the recording of The Downward Spiral, in which he goes into detail about this very aspect. He said he wanted to confuse people by having a programmed but also natural or "ugly" sounding drum track.

I cannot explain how extremely attractive this video is.

Probably a really intense place to put it but the lipstick and leather look was pretty as hell

I personally still think NIN was better in the 90s than today. They were rawer, grittier, heavier, and just over all better. NIN today I think they lost a little of their power and crazyness and delivery during their performance but they're still pretty good though they could be worst.

So much better than the Lights In The Sky Tour. He's happy now which ruins the song for me. Back then he had inner turmoil and drug issues which is not good for him as person, but GREAT for the performance of certain songs. Mister Self Destruct being one of them.
