I know right ??? I thought shado was some b grade sci fi show but the acting and direction is fantastic and emotions also

The music for this and Space 1999 were both excellent.

What fine work she did here. She was also a talented singer well known throughout Liverpool before she turned to acting as well. Such an understated and therefore powerful presence she had on screen. I must also confess she filled some teenage fantasies for me. She ran a very tight moobase. If the show had continued it would have been obvious to develop a relationship between her and Straker. Since 50 years have passed I think there is no harm if I mention that there was an on set romance between Ed Bishop and Delores Mantez as well. Lucky bastard.

@@FandersonUfo Yeah, I heard she could sing. Pity there wasn't a way to showcase that in the series. Could've been a shoreleave-kind of scene, or birthday party, or some such thing. She really had presence on screen. Your eye can't help but be drawn to her. You're right about running a tight ship. I was in the Navy and let me tell you for sure, she's the kind of leader I could've followed. Yep, totally agree about the fantasy thing, truth be told. Her, Ellis, and Uhura. I can smile about it now looking back. (Who am I kidding; I was all smiles back then). An on-set romance between her and Bishop? Yep, one lucky dude.

Apparently Michael Billington and Anouska Hempel supported each other on and off the set as well. Fantastic team all around. They don't make Sci Fi near as good anymore. Hope to hear from you again.

I think that would've made a pretty interesting angle between Michael and Anouska, don't you think? No, they just don't make 'em like that anymore. Yeah, you'll hear again from me for sure. Ella es una cosa silenciosa y poderosa en este espectáculo. Ella siempre me llamó la atención cuando la vi por primera vez hace años. Un personaje tan interesante que interpreta muy bien. Una mujer de color en 1969 en una posición de autoridad de combate. Ese fue un casting muy avanzado en 1969. El programa fue muy progresivo en sus temas e historias. Muy avanzado para ese año.

@@davidrosler5413 - you may tuck and trim as much as you wish sir - it's a fat version that should give you some options - I've included the opening titles which you can re-score or eliminate - the story line is pretty much the same as this vid - you may not be aware of the personal relationship between the two actors at the time - Ed and Dolores were a marvelous pair in their day I'm sure - if the show had continued the 2 characters relationship on the show could have been further explored of course - 🛸✨

@@FandersonUfo is this new one sub Smash? Ed and Delores the actors in real life or their characters were an item? If she is who I recall. She's the one who gets stuck in the torpedo tube or whatever and some of the best suspense I've ever seen on TV on a show I did not much care for. But sub Smash I feel was excellent though Straker walks out like a tight jerk at the end. All of Anderson live show lacked character warmth except for the most absurd, space police, which I am ashamed to say I found entertaining because the stories were well written and tightly done, except the aliens often made me ashamed to be enjoying it. IMO UFO is all there on-film, even better characterisation with nip and tucks and a sound track that accentuates the relationships. Without that, the show is often an hour of dry business as usual, and Sub Smash shows what the show could have been when they let the characters be people and not merely cutout technical operatives all the time. Star trek TOS started somewhat similarly then gene coon came in and gave the characters strong relationships and the show really sparked, of course. But then STTOS also often had tight cutting and outstanding scoring. That's the experiment here. Fascinating.
