Grab your tissues and have a seat because Nina Dobrev is saying her final goodbyes on the set of The Vampire Diaries.
Yes guys, this is actually happening. When news broke of Nina leaving the CW hit show a few weeks ago, the fandom was in total despair and thanks to new Instagram photos Nina has been posting throughout her final scenes on the show, well, we feel like we’re all reliving the devastation all over again.
Nina’s first post came a few days ago with this pic of she and Matt Davis as he gave her a piggy back ride and she noted this - “gonna miss this goofball.” But the waterworks (aka the hysterical tears) really kicked off when she posted a photo of she and Paul Wesley, who have obviously worked together since Day 1 on the show - she captioned this pic with “just finished filming my last Stefan and Elena scene. Crazy. So many emotions. I’m lost for words.”
But then the photo posting took a turn when Nina posted a photo with Candice Accola and Kat Graham where they were all obviously emotional - she said “ok. Officially a mess. No hiding it anymore. Today has been a day filled with farewells…I still have 2 more days of shooting before I wrap TVD. But it’s officially a wrap on Caroline and Elena and Bonnie. “ And the cry-slash-love fest continued with another pic of the ladies all sitting together where I’m pretty sure they are all literally crying, which Nina’s caption confirmed with her writing “I feel like a blowfish, so puffy and bloated from crying all day. Tears of joy and sadness.”
No official final scene photo of Nina and Ian yet, but we’re guessing that tear-jerker is a comin’. In the meantime, Nina did post this pic from behind the scenes on a Damon-Elena scene with QUOTE “Smolderhalder.”

Question i want to know are Nina and Ian friends? I seen one of the old post they posted on Instagram they were cool Ian, Nikki, And Nina were having a dinner and they were all mature after everything that happened after the breakup but i still don’t understand what happened at the end of the tvd the bond that Nina and Ian was gone and everything was so awkward and they don’t follow each other on instagram what’s up with that? Yahh Lindsay Sounds possible. But i dont think Elena would want him to erase her memories with him, because like she said "The memories were only half mine." He can't do something like that to her. Once she's human, she will still be exposed to all the supernatural stuff unless she leaves Mystic Falls like Jeremy, transfer herself to another medical graduate school somewhere far.. Man. How will they continue their storyline without their main lead character. I highly doubt this will be the last season maybe since it seems like they are still making more episodes atm.

+Anna Lovato I'm not delena and I'm not disparaging your comment may sound like it but I'm not , I used like some of there earlier stuff despite being on opposing ship season 4 through 6 was a bit weird though , but I blame the writers for that I mean whose bright idea was it, to go from , normal couple stuff w/ couples in the past , to doing only 1 thing over and over? , I used to joke TVD should be named Stefan's Creek , not because I'm Stefan fan which I am , but its a joke to how a different show begain and ultimately ended, now I different silly prior tv joke references that sound much lamer "Vampire Sliders" joke to the show called" Sliders" starring Jerry O'connell who left somewhere mid season or Vampire 90210 [not a reference to the cw 90210 that got cancelled] but , the 1 that came before that on fox.

This is what I saw someone wrote on tumblr and I think it could happen: Maybe they’ll travel back in time to the moment she met Damon right before her parents accident and instead of compelling her to forget their meeting, Damon warns Grayson about the slipy road and the storm and wish them a happy trip And so there won’t be an accident, Stefan won’t try to “know her” … and it wil be as if Elena never met him or Stefan but without compulsion And that would explain why they brought up the accident in 6x14 and went through the trouble of telling us exactly what happened!! And next season, they could mention something about Damon watching over her from a far making sure she’s happy And this is how Elena will be willing to leave Damon because to her he was just the stranger on the road Hmmm

In her place i would not post photos from no one they where not so good friend to her after her break up with Ian. When Candice got engaged Nina wrote on twitter something about how she cant wait to be a bridesmaid and what color does not suit her Candice not responded to that ,Nina was not even at her wedding. On the photos they are fake crying because everyone know the show would go downhill when Nina living them. Ian played the poor guy who's heart was broken by Nina and she was a bitch because does not want to be married at 23-24 and have kids. But it was o.k. that Ian moved in with Nikki 2 weeks after she annuced her divorce. Nikki wanted Ian and did everything to get him even if she had to lie about having a kid as soon they married, and still no kids. When they stand next to each other does not seems to be so in love like they where Ian fake smiles and Nikki has the fake i'm steel in love with my second hubby face. After the show end's and he would not be so famous like before she would leave him like her first

When season six started people were over elena and thought that she didn't really do much on the show anymore, and now that she is leaving everyone is crying about it. But we'll miss her. And i trust Julie Plec and the writers so i hope they make her exit good. I will still watch the show because i didn't start watching it for nina only.

This TV show has always been a part of me. I remember the first time I saw this on television. Elena was writing in her diary regarding her day at school. From then on I became a fan. I was in college back then. It has been six years of a roller coaster ride with this show. Characters made me believe in epic love story between people of two different worlds. I will be a liar if I'm going to say Elena leaving the show is fine. It's not. Things will never be the same in my eyes. The characters I've grown seeing gone. Couldn't be sadder. But this is the way things has to happen, they just were characters from a book, they weren't even real but I love them. I will always remember the best season of the show. Season 1 and 2. Ciao Elena Gilbert, always has been a fan yours and I will never ever waver. Till next time.

That's really sad, especially seeing Elena's old look(which should have never been changed tbh) and remembering the first two seasons, which I personally think were the best times for the show and for the cast as well, because back then everyone were literally obsessed with the show, the actors and their characters. They were really on their best. And even though they started ruining the show little by little with every next season, I will always love this show because it was one of my greatest obsessions ever, it changed me and my life as well, no matter how strange this sound. It influenced all of us in some way, for good or for worse. But that's what all types of good art do to us - they affect us in all ways possible. I'm sure Nina sadness is honest, not some actingqq, but I'm sure she knows that she's making the right choice, and I totally understand her. Elena is already wasted as a character, and besides I'm sure she wants to face new challenges as an actress, and not just stay in the same place and do the same thing for the rest of her life. As to Elena, I feel like she's going to take the cure, probably Damon is going to show his selfless side once again and will give it to her because he knows she wants to normal, human life, to have kinds, etc. And the show is either going to end as Elena being old, having family, being with her friends and children, and Damon and Stefan watching her from afar, being her "guardian angels" till her last days, which means we'll have a Defan end and the brothers will finally end the damned endless circle of always fighting for the same woman, starting their journey anew. Honestly I'm super excited for s7 when we're probably going to have a lot of flashbacks with both fo them, and will follow their journeys separately and as a team as well.

We're in the same boat. Julie Plec & Caroline Dries have no business running TVD. Their ideas is the reason the show has been hemorrhaging viewers. They started the process of taking over in 2011 with "Season 3" to please horny DE Fans. Kevin Williamson was the mastermind of the televised version of "The Vampire Diaries". He didn't give into the fans temptation, he stuck to a storyline that worked. Kevin has been in entertainment for over 2 decades. He knows how to get & keep his audience. You were right about "Seasons 1 & 2". Those were the golden years of TVD. The viewers & the ratings were through the roof. Julie & Caroline don't have half the experience Kevin Williamson have. How the hell are you going to take a show from somebody who's been in the business for 20 years? How dumb can you get? DE Fans are saying this to me about Nina's departure: "Even if Kevin had stayed, Nina would have left anyway. She felt that Elena's story had been told." I was like: What are these people smoking? In the beginning all Nina could talk about was how psyched she was to film one of Kevin's scripts. She has said that repeatedly at press conferences, popular magazines (EW, Rolling Stone & TV Guide) and other sources. Nina praised Kevin for tweaking the original characters in the books so the story would be more believable on screen. Whenever she received one of Kevin's scripts, she was extremely eager to read it. I see you remembered the scene from 2x08, when Damon told Elena he loved her & compelled her to forget. That's when I was starting to regain some respect for Damon. There was only one person I truly wanted to be with Damon: Rose Marie | This beautiful character came to us in "Season 2". When we first met Rose, she was no different than Katherine. She was hellbent on doing whatever it took to get her freedom from Klaus. In her final episodes, she made a complete 180. She went from being an enemy to a protector. At the end of the day, Rose didn't give a damn about her freedom. Plus, she had a huge impact on Damon: She never took Damon's choices away from him... She kept her humanity after losing everybody she loved... What Damon did for Rose in her final moments, was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen him do. Right before Damon told Elena to leave, Rose revealed that the happiest days in her life, was when she was growing up in England & how badly she wanted to go home. When Damon gave Rose her last wish, by sending her back & letting her be in the sun, I cried so hard. What Damon did for her, had nothing to do with him & had everything to do with Rose. Those 2 should have been together. Their relationship would have been beautiful & cause Damon to actually GROW. Not this leash called 'Elena' that stops him from doing horrible things & pretend that it's growth. It is not growth. It is pretending. Rose would have ended the love triangle. P.S.: Despite his feelings for Elena, Damon never told her about what he did for Rose. She didn't find out until "Season 3". Another thing... If Elena never came back to the boarding house after Rose died (Damon was forced to mercy kill her) he never would have lost control & killed that girl at the end of the episode.

Her exit was soo emotional. I’m glad they really wrapped it into the show so well. It sucks tho cause the show revolves around her, however since she’s been gone it has still Been just as good. Love the cast, and I’m glad she was on that show

TVD is one of my favorite shows. The storyline has been a rollercoaster and I admit the season finale is not the first time this show has brought me to tears, i mean full out bawling. lol. Its a shame to lose elena, i took her charector for granted, didn't appreciate how vital she was to the show until i found out she was leaving. now i don't know how the show will succeed without her, but i have faith that the writers will do their best to keep all of us diehard tvd fans satisfied and sane. wishing nina all the best, she is very classy and admire how she's handling everything on and off screen.

I sooo hope they don't kill her because many characters end up like this. Especially when the actor gets fired (like Charlie Sheen) or like in this case if she leaves by choice before her contract ends. For example Grey's anatomy: Sandra Oh was offered to continue on season 11 but she didn't want it and the writer just made her character leave the hospital so she can begin a new life. I hope Julie does the same and gives Elena a peaceful and happy ending with her being alive and not dead.

Christina Kyrsin I haven't heard that but I suspected that as well. It would not be an easy thing to stop a serious relationship and still have to carry on with the scenes they have had to do. The constant kissing etc. Then again it may not be that at all, she may have a chance to do something better that she's not able to talk about yet. I just wish the best for her.

I know right. I don't understand how people hate the vampire diaries now, like Elena was the only reason the show was good. Season 7 is amazing, probably my favorite season so far! And I like Elena,at first I was sad about her leaving, but now with all of the stuff happening, like the huntress, I think it's better without her. Because when Elena was alive the show was all about her, and now the show is more amazing tha ever!!! I hope they won't cancel the show, because this show is literally my life!

I bet you TVD is going to end soon, like they moved the show to Fridays now bc no one was watching on Thursdays, the rating have gone down since season 6 began and now that Nina left and Michael and Steven the rating have gone even lower, I bet they won't make it to season 8, I think it's time, it's time for it to end

Honestly, elena was so annoying, she would crazily put herself in harms way , knowing that one of the salvatore brothers would save her. I LOVE season 7, I hope Bonnie becomes the new leading lady, and hopeful with a legitimate love interest (Enzo anyone?).
