Worried about comfort then go to your own wedding in Kurta-Pajama. Stop complaining about the dress in the comments. Am not from Manipur or Northeast, but since childhood I have loved this very manipuri dress ever since I saw it on Doordarshan in a raas leela dance. Wedding costumes are always elaborate and uncomfortable at times. Long flowy bridal gowns also need to be held by bridesmaids or else it will wipe on the floor or you could trip on it too.

bride is like an actress! holding such biground to legs should be banned by a law. But I do respect traditions ; but traditions should not be an inconvenience to the Bride as it will totally inconvenient for sitting /standing etc;. The girl has to undergo problems why she face such problems in the name of tradition that too during her happy marriage ? any mother or father or brother or from husband side also all will not like to inconvenience the New bride while getting married happily !
