An update for 2021: there are talks about creating the 7 meter line, that would act as the yellow line: if you get fouled inside the 7 meters you can't shoot directly. (they'll still use the 5 meters line to penaltis). Also a quick correction: you can receive the ball inside the 2 meter line if the passing player is already inside it and the ball doesn't go forward. A bit like rugby. Also in the 20 secs exclusions usually players don't leave the pool.

Good times. Played for a full year with the team from my high school. I wasn’t the greatest player, average at best but I did score at least one goal. I’ve moved on from water polo but I still love watching videos about it

If you get a minor foul outside of five meters, you can shoot if it's straight away and in one motion. (No faking)

You can also get a free shot ( no faking, one motion) if you foul the goalie ( the ball being pushed under the water with goalies hand on the ball.

That was a great explanation. Could you maybe do another one talking about setting up, driving, etc..? I'm doing water polo for 5th- 8th graders, and it's much harder for me to explain and seems a lot more complicated, but thank you so much! I'm liking this.. 😁

if anyone is watching this video for school and need to answer some video questions, this is the most i can give you. Basic Rules The objective is to score more goals than the other team Each team has 6 field players at a time Players can dribble, pass, or push the ball when they have possession. Field players can only use 1 hand(s) Penalty throws take place at the 5 meter line. Players wear different color caps to determine teams.

Really? I've played for 12 years and I still find it boring to watch on the stands or the TV 😅. It feels so slow compared to when you are inside or alongside the pool.

very good video ! congrats ! only a few small adjustments and it would be 100% accurate. (ordinary fouls: the clock DO stop during ordinary fouls and the other team MUST NOT necessarily play the ball in 3 seconds...actually it is the referee who decides if the ball was played in time. the 2 meter line is a zone where is FORBIDDEN TO BE without the ball) altogether GREAT WORK !!
