Today I'm comparing the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven with the Power Air Fryer Oven 360. They are both highly advertised on television, and I have already given the Power Air Fryer Oven 360 a positive review. How well can the Ninja stack up? Today I plan to find out. Looks great, functions great, and highly recommended.The buttons are touch (not pressure activated "touch"), which was a nice detail kzfaq.infoUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB Perfect size for normal every day meals, and it cooks food very thoroughly. On preset settings upon first use, it cooked my chicken breasts to a crisp. Boarder line too dry, so next time I'll either decrease temperature or time. Not a bad thing, just a minor adjustment for next time. No oil was used, so food was clean to the touch. Excited to see how other meals will turn out.Will recommend to friends and family in the future!

For those of you who doubt the Ninja “brand”, listen up. I have been using both my Ninja Crockpot system (slow cook, sauté, bake +++) AND my Ninja Blender system (blender, crusher, smoothie maker +++) 2-3 times a week for 5 years and both are still going strong! I live in a small space and so real estate in my kitchen is priceless and I hold my wallet close to my heart. As with everything else, I research for months and was down to these 2 air fryers. Once again Freakin Reviews came through! Joining the lineup this Christmas is this Ninja Air-fryer! Thank you! I really want those scissors too! Where is the link?

As someone who sells appliances, it was really obvious from the start that the Ninja would work better. A very basic principle of air fryers is maintaining heat and high airflow. The Ninja has a higher wattage element and a smaller total volume to heat. The smaller volume also means it needs to move air less relative to the Power to get the same results. This is why "basket" style air fryers work almost universally better than oven style ones, but the same goes for a tiny oven versus a large oven.
@CarinaCoffee

This is actually a helpful reply, because I was thinking about maybe getting the Ninja with the dual baskets (or any other basket air fryer over 4l volume), but I've seen a lot of people use this oven one before and I really only need an air fryer for things like chips (French fries), dumplings, pasta crisps and maybe some (vegan) dino nuggets. I was worried that maybe the basket ones wouldn't have as good of an air flow as this oven style, but I have to say, I saw someone from the UK just review the new stackable dual zone Ninja vs the regular one with wider chips (French fries) like he used here and even the ones from the stackable Ninja looked more evenly crispy than from the Ninja oven (and the stackable one is not as good as the side by side one, probably because the air flow comes in from the back and not the top like it does in the side by side one)(edit, they were air fried for 12 minutes in both dual machines). Your comment and all the reviews I've been watching today have really helped me, thank you!

I recently got the Ninja as a Christmas gift and even with my limited use so far, I love it. The fact that it preheats *SO FAST* is really what does it for me. I'm so used to my old toaster oven's preheat times that I often am not even fully prepared by the time its fully preheated! Its my first time having an air fryer, and I'm very happy with it so far.

@@icytower38 I've really been considering getting one. I genuinely use my toaster oven/counter top oven daily - and far more often than my actual oven. I had upgraded to a nicer kitchen aid counter oven but they released their expensive air dry, dehydrator, etc oven a few months after. So I've really been debating which to upgrade to the new kitchen aid or Ninja. What has been your experience with doing meats and stuff like that? Like in my counter top oven I have right now it's probably as tall as the power air fryer in this video. I can make 3 chicken breasts at a time, meat loaf, burgers, tender loin, etc. I can't fit a whole chicken in it though. Have you had good success with doing meats? I do like that the Ninja seems much faster than any counter top oven I've been able to find. I know he likes his toast and other things a lot more crispy than I do. Do you find that it cooks too fast or it's harder to control darkness/crispiness/burning? Sorry if this is a lot of questions. Thank you for any help or answers you can provide. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this crazy time ❤️

I think the 300 watt difference is what’s making it do so well, combined with the smaller area for preheating. While they both eventually get the food cooked (the 360 taking about a 1/3 to 1-2 longer on average), then you have more power consumption for the same amount of food vs the ninja, despite the higher wattage it is being used for much less time. Also, the longer the food is cooking, the more moisture is cooked out of the food. Such as with the chicken and broccoli, the quicker the chicken is cooked to desired doneness, the chicken is less likely to dry out. Great review! I hope I have room for this under my abnormally low cabinets. I have a standard $40 black and decker 4-slice toaster oven I got 3 years ago and getting kinda tired of how unevenly it cooks. I don’t ever cook taller items in it, so I think the short form factor of the ninja won’t be a problem for me. If I have bigger things then I can use my apartment’s oven (it is a compact oven range, and the temp gauge seems to be off by around 30 degrees, but it does just fine).

Direct cooking comparisons can be a bit skewed mainly due to the machines likely being different wattage and the distance the food is from the heating element. They both seem like very solid devices. I like that the ninja is so compact and can flip up

@Joe Horn 1) Epstein & Ghislaine were regular visitors to the 1st Clinton W.H.; 2) there's an old, old video, right here on YT, of the #1 most beloved and Worshipped Democrat Politician; On a plane se%ually harrassing a female worker, In the most gross and vulgar way you could ever picture. (I wish I could unsee it. it was so nasty.) But then She gets up and walks away, disgustedly. Someone even says her first name. The video was probably filmed in 2008. Possibly from a CNN camera. There used to be many many copies. But even now you can still find a copy, though it's old and grainy. Confucius say: Just because you are not aware of something, doesn't mean it is not true. re. Amazon's Election Business - it's not publicized, but it's no secret. Neither is their Lawsuit. re. the last, and most shocking part. Well that's complicated. I didn't just read a post and draw that conclusion. It took many years. So I'm certainly not about to toss you a Link to see if you find it worthy. When someone is ready for the truth, they'll find it. But you might start with going back 70 years or so, to see just who started the C I A. (and no, it wasn't Jeff Bezos' dad). Nice review. One aspect you may have overlooked: The Ninja fryer is rated at 1800W, which is at the edge of the common 15A (Ampere) circuit (14-gauge in-wall wire in modern homes) if your line voltage is 120V AC. (simplistic arithmetic, 1800/120 = 15). Since line voltage varies, and it is often less than 120V, it is possible to overload the wiring circuit. More often than not that will be a non-event, for a small overload. But it may trip a breaker (or blow a fuse) from time to time, as long as the circuit is protected. In any case, make sure there are no other loads on that circuit or, even better, use a 20A circuit (12-gauge electric wire, protected with a larger capacity breaker). The 360 is rated at 1500W, which is a more conservative, tamer proposition, even if marginally a disadvantage in your review. If you rate cook time, please do consider power consumption and power efficiency. There are easy to use devices that can measure power consumption at a kitchen outlet.

@@ssmodk The Ninja ovens I've seen actually have a pretty large fan in them compared to other convection ovens - also they do an excellent job of temperature control - also since they're 1800 watts they heat up very quickly compared to others. I've had a convection microwave oven for over 15 years now, I've probably used it 10 times as a convection oven because it does a very poor job at cooking stuff. The temp control and air movement and nice build quality is what you're paying for. But yes, if I want to make a pizza, I can preheat my normal oven, wait 15 mins for it, then cook it according to the box and it comes out perfect - but it's also nice to be able to preheat in 2 mins and then cook it and have it come out perfect. I bought my Ninja Foodi exclusively for the flip up feature -- ABSOLUTELY NO GIMMICK if you've got limited counter space. I loved my huge toaster oven but it took up so much space. Very nice to have the ability to flip it up and regain an 18" width of counter space when cooking/dicing/mixing, etc. Downside: ONLY MINIMAL HEIGHT ITEMS UNDER ~2" (👎🏽). & tighter area to clean, although the bottom/floor pivots down when vertical to access entire inside. We had the power XL 360 air fryer first, and were satisfied with it. Then Costco had the Ninja air fryer on sale, and I decided to take a flyer on it and expected I'd probably return it that it wouldn't be any better. Wow was I wrong! My experience was pretty much the same as we saw in this review. The ninja fast preheating is a game-changer! Instead of walking away for 5 or 10 minutes waiting for preheat you just continue getting ingredients ready and then bam! The ninja is ready. It Cooks frozen pizzas so nicely, they taste so good and fast too. When you're hungry and you want tasty and fast, the ninja is the bomb! I also like that it toasts very well, so I don't need a toaster. The power xl360 just didn't toast well enough where I felt like I could forgo having a separate toaster. The Ninja toast just fine and is simple to use. I didn't expect there would be much difference between the two, but the Ninja really wowed me. I have a lightly used power XL 360 for sale..

Exactly! 360 will still take longer to preheat due to lower wattage and larger capacity, but moving food closer to the element will make it brown more quickly. I don't quite get the obsession with foods browning. If fries are cooked and crispy what does the color matter? To me the French toast and broccoli done in the ninja both looked burnt.

@@Oli-Ravioli Charred broccoli just doesn't do it for me, French fries don't matter to me as long as they're cooked and somewhat crisp. I'm aware of searing meat to keep the juices in but that's supposed to be done quickly otherwise meat can be tough and/or overcooked.

One thing to consider. The older machine might not be getting as hot as it once did when new. I have kept a small convection oven for small things for years. I'm on my 3rd one now, and found the more used they were, the longer it took to cook stuff.

James - I STRONGLY recommend that you seriously consider reviewing the widely advertises and most interesting June Oven. It seem to be about the most technologically advanced small oven available - what with the camera IN the oven that recognizes the food you want to cook, etc. Please do it!

Thank you for reviewing these two air fryers. I have a small traditional round air fryer, I love it, but it is smaller than a toaster oven size. I was considering purchasing the Power Air Fryer Oven 360, after this review, I will be purchasing the Ninja Foodi Air Fry Oven.

Good review, but I do agree with those who pointed out the placement of the food in reference to the heating element. I've been researching air fryers for over a year now and want to finally get one. Since I want to bake cakes, pastries and breads, I am thinking the 360 is the better choice for me, not to mention the rotisserie option.

I bought the Ninja Foodi for myself for Christmas. Myself, husband and three teenagers love it. It gets used everyday for various foods an settings. I bought it at Kohl's on sale and then also got Kohl's cash back. With those savings it was super inexpensive. It also is so convenient. We fold it up after it cools and it is out of the way. Great purchase!!!

I believe that the 360 should have been set at 5% - 10% higher temperature for the same duration of time to adjust for the difference in the wattage between the two ovens. Theoretically that should have eliminated the need to cook the food with the 360 longer. Any interest in testing out this theory?
@watcherofwatchers
@watcherofwatchers 11 ай бұрын
The wattage of the oven should not matter, except for speed reaching the desired temperature. The temperature is the temperature. If one has to modify the cooking temperatures or times, then there's a problem with the product.

Before seeing this video I had pretty much made up mind to buy the Air Fryer 360 but watching this has changed my mind. Looks like I will be getting the Ninja Foodie. I do like the it folds up to get out of the way when not in use. The only plus that I saw for the 360 was rotisserie which honestly I probably wouldn't use that often anyway. So glad I saw this video. Keep up the great reviews James 👍

It’s the wattage. 1800 vs 1500. And the smaller “chamber” doesn’t hurt either. The Ninja should heat up faster and hotter if you use equal times. I definitely noticed difference in my smaller 700 watt microwave vs 1000 watt larger one. I was constantly adjusting cook times.

I like its current height. It flips up for more counter space when not in use. Making it taller will give you less counter space when stored, so I'm not too worried about not being able to cook a chicken in there.

I like the Ninja but I wonder if it's better performance might be totally due to its form factor. It's half the volume of the PAFO so with a similar sized heating coil it's going to do better. but you give up a lot of flexibility by going that slim. It's almost like it's a horizontal toaster at this point. That said, I do like the flip-up storage.

I first bought this Ninja Flip oven and loved it. Made perfect one pan meals (no worry about meat & veggies together, as long as cooked to safe temp). But, I didn't like how low the height is. I like to be able to see the food cooking. So I returned it to Kohl's and got the Ninja XL Pro oven. Big mistake. This oven has so many issues; lettering smearing off the control panel, interior CANNOT be cleaned, my top elements stopped coming on during toast/bagel after only a few months. I hardly use it because of the inability to clean it, so I can't really enjoy it. I do love the nice features like the fading light, the neat alert tone, etc. And Ninja freely ships out replacement ovens when they go bad. Probably because they admitted that some of their suppliers used inferior materials.

Love my Ninja! I thought I would use it maybe a few times a week, instead I use it a few times a DAY, every single day. I retired the toaster and make all my toast and bagels in it. Something about how it cooks makes it crispy, yet still retain moisture and not get all dried out. Truly the best toast I have ever had. I also have used it for french fries, pizza, cookies, pork chops, and it has never let me down. There’s only negatives for me are that the rack will sometimes get stuck a bit when sliding in or out and also the baking pan warps when getting hot. It goes back to it’s normal shape, but I am not happy that it bends like that. Other then those issues the Ninja is a pretty darn perfect product and the cook and preheat times just can’t be beat.
