I have the Foodi and I LOVE how ribs come out in it. What I like to do is 20 minutes pressure and another 10 of slow release followed by 15 minutes under the air fryer with a nice coating of bullseye barbeque sauce. So tender and juicy.

I wouldn't sear ribs but I would air fry or broiler crisp them after cooking. I sear roasts any large chunks of meat. Sometimes, but not usually, I put them under the broiler for a bit, especially if there's a lot of fat. I like my fat crispy. I love charred pork and pork fat and BBQ chicken. Beef, not so much.

@sweetsavant There is also a Broil feature on the Ninja Foodi and I did ribs under 15 minutes after pressure cooking for 15 minutes and they had that same char you get from the traditional broiler in the oven. Loving not having to swap things back and forth and doing it all on one pot. Way less muss and fuss.

Sigh... I bought my Ninja Foodi a couple weeks ago... love being able to use one pot, the crisping and broil features are amazing... but for those so concerned about the coating and healthy eating, why watch a pork video? I know for me it does a number on my blood pressure... There’s something bad in everything we eat until someone says it isn’t. Just eat people... worrying about the coating and you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I’m going to enjoy my ribs today...

I'm not sure this is a very valid comparison, since you're crisping/broiling using 2 different methods/equipment. The Instant Pot only pressure cooks, so it might have been better to measure variables such as tenderness and done-ness; then it's a fair comparison between the Foodi and the Instant Pot. Also as some pointed out, when you did the crisping in the Foodi, the rack was not used, and that prevented even distribution of air around the ribs. It's also obvious the broiler in an oven has more firepower than the heating element in the Foodi, so the ribs will caramelise and char better in the oven's broiler.

I prefer the stainless steel pot. The only way I would use the other is if the coating was ceramic/enamel. I always brown all my meats before cooking, no matter the way I am cooking it. Browning the meat will lock in the moisture. You can do it all in the Instant Pot, but you must use the Sauté setting to sear the meat first.

Thank you for this video. I was looking for a comparison and this was very informative. From appearance alone I like the Instapot results, probably because the trip under the broiler caramelized the sugar in the BBQ sauce, which I thinks tastes and looks better. Very well done video! @@kathyfann I always kind of wandered how healthy cooking with stainless actually is since stainless is made with nickel and nickel has even been found to be carcinogenic. @sweetsavant - my understanding is that if you set a higher air-frying time (eg. 10min), you can still open it up to peek before time's up (eg. 5min) and then just shut it again to keep going where it left off (you don't need to set the timer again)

I’ve been using the Elite pressure cooker for years and am looking for a new one. Your video convinced me to go for the Ninja foodie. It’s a true all-in-one cooker. Having to cook the food in two different elements defeats the purpose of the pressure cooker that is supposed to save us time. Now, I’m hungry for ribs.😋 Thanks again for the demonstration.

Nice comp. Thanks. I do my ribs in my PC and finish them off in the NuWave oven as I don't have a broiler oven. They come out amazing too. Thanks for your video.

Truth be told, I never boiled ribs before, always grilled/roasted. The foodi has a broil and a roast setting btw. You could've gotten them crisper with a little more time..

Bought a Foodi yesterday at Sam's Club, after a quick internet search led to this video. So far this thing's done sterling service with chicken thighs, pork chops and some frozen bagged precooked tendies--so basically I've tried out the pressure cooker, air crisper, bake and broil modes. I don't think it's best in the business or anything at any of these but having them all in one is pretty great. Thanks for the review!

WOW! You are really doing your thing over there! The all in one feature really does it for me. I would definitely suggest buying the Foodi instead of 2 separate appliances. Thanks for watching!

Very nice comparison. I've been wanting a Ninja Foodie.

You could have used the broil feature on the Foodi and not the air fryer mode.

Also if you used the air fryer mode you should have put the basket in for the air to move around better to cook

FYI - if you did prefer the foodi, you could still put the ribs in the oven instead of air fryer :) Your voice is so nice!!

Hello and thanks for the video! I wonder if Ninja Foodie was given a bit more time in the air cooker if the ribs would have gotten a bit more browned? Again, great video!

I noticed you had separated drippings on the ninja. Was there any on the Insta pot?

Hello. Loved the comparison and thank you for doing. I have a Mealthy IP and many accessories, but my next purchase will be the Ninja Foodi. Would you mind adding your link to the Ribs 101 you mentioned in this video because I did not see the link in the video and would like to watch. Thank you.
