so funny that i bought my second one a pink 2ds right as ultra sun and ultra moon came out i think right after the switch released. I bought it for maybe 80USD and now theyre selling for 150+ lol

Just got one yesterday for 80$. Had only the original Ds as a kid for some time before my brother broke it by (forcefully) ignoring that different charging cables exist. Now i got this thing homebrewed and my god. The size of this screens alone compared to my old ds, the custom themes and all. I’m in love with it and it got me hooked bad.

I had a 3ds XL. I always wanted to try the 2d XL but I sold my original 3ds and 3ds XL for the Steam Deck. Mods have me still playing my favorite games, but I miss the clam shell

2DS is cool but still prefer the actual 3DS - I rarely use the 3D but there are a few games where I do and it is enjoyable but really the improvements to the "New" 3DS made it much better.

I used to own a 3ds xl but I had to sell it. I replaced it with the Switch (which I do not regret buying) but I feel I enjoyed this console better. If I get a chance to get it again, I would definitely look for the 2ds xl, as it looks easier to carry than the 3ds xl.

I thought the no glasses 3D was amazing on the original 3DS and it's still very impressive for its time, but it hasn't aged well. The XL model to me outright broke the effect, because of its low pixel density. The New 3DS's eye tracking was a clever idea and certainly helped with the viewing angle problem, but it didn't really solve the main problems the 3D screens used on the 3DS had. True flawless no glasses 3D screens are still too expensive to mass produce even to this day and its clear Nintendo were very much hoping the tech would catch on and eventually better 3D screens would become affordable. Instead, the early flawed and poorly executed introduction of 3D TVs to the public completely soured them on 3D and forever stamped the label of "gimmick" onto it before any of the better screens could be brought out or made affordable.

Shame it doesn't have IPS screens. I got lucky and my top screen on my n3ds xl has an ips screen. Way better than the TN ones.

It seems Nintendo no longer makes any of the DS series. Such a shame. With hardware improvements is would be cheap to make now, but Nintendo makes more money selling Switches and its games. Oh and if Nintendo remade new ones they would likely try to stop costumers from jailbreaking them.
