The SNES M16 was actually used as a peripheral for the "M.A.C.S. - Multipurpose Arcade Combat Simulator" developed for training in the US Army. Imagine your 2nd week of boot camp the drill sergeant slaps a CRT on the table and hands you a plastic M16 and says "Lets see if you can get the high-score, private!"

A lot of people don't know this, but "The Brawl to End Them All" was actually the subtitle to Brawl, it wasn't just on those Wiis for no reason. This is because Brawl was actually supposed to be the last game in the entire series, so Sakurai worked really hard on making Subspace such a grand story as the final conclusion. The reason why we got smash 4 is actually a little fucked up. Nintendo executives threatened to re-release brawl in the next console if he refused to make a new one, and if you know sakurai there was no way in hell he was gonna let that happen. You can see how exhausted and tired of the corporate bullshit he is by the end of Ultimate. He worked really hard to make, genuinely, the last game this time and finally left Nintendo. I hope whatever happens with Sora Limited goes well for him.

Sakurai has *never* been part of Nintendo. He worked with HAL, which despite working very closely with Nintendo, is its own company. And even then, Sakurai left HAL in 2003 due to HAL only ever focusing on Kirby sequels, and formed Sora Ltd in 2005

Where did you get that information about Smash 4 even, besides Brawl's tagline? I can't find anything to suggest that, I'm genuinely curious to see where you got it from. Seems like you're confusing this with Brawl's initial development, which was originally gonna be Melee ported onto the Wii with online play before Sakurai was made aware of it. Also, I'm pretty sure Ultimate was a thing because it was Iwata's final request to Sakurai, who was a close colleague and friend to him. Feels pretty disingenuous to say Sakurai was "tired of the corporate bullshit" with Ultimate IMO.

The reason the Cookstar was made and was just a copy and paste of the Cooking Mama game is because they released Cooking Mama Cookstar without actually having the license to Cooking Mama and got into serious legal shit and can no longer sell it
