Nice video Shawn. Some people are quick to compare Wii titles against the 360/PS3 versions and instantly dismiss the platform because of graphics and raw power, but when you rate games based on the capabilities of the system, it had so many awesome titles. On this list, I think Ghostbusters is the outstanding title and I agree with your comments 100%. I love The Conduit and HotD: Overkill too. I may take a look at the Silent Hill and Tenchu games you mentioned. Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, Trackmania TM, EA Sports Tennis, Dead Space Extraction, Cursed Mountain, Last Story, Battalion Wars 2, de Blob 2 are fun too.

The Wii is my favorite console of all time. Followed by PS2, GameCube, SNES and N64. I have PS4 but compared to PS2 it sucks hardcore. One Wii exclusive I think you should try is a budget game called Gunslingers. It might have been a budget title but it doesn't play like one. It's one of the best light gun shooters on Wii in my opinion. It's kind of hard to find in the wild but you can find a copy on eBay for pretty cheap. Gunslingers is most diffidently a hidden gem that more people need to play.

Wii is my fav too! and the WiiU actually since it has a wii inside. PS2 SNES 64 also. But i dunno look at a few videos on the best games for PS3 and PS4. there is an increible amount of content from many different genres. Ill be collecting PS3 games in a near future when hopefully they get as cheap as PS2 did.

Glad to see Crystal Bearers get some recognition. I thought that was a pretty good Final Fantasy game too. Main character was a cocky fun loving guy which you don't see much anymore from the main games and the gameplay was really interesting. Main combat in it's simplest form is just moving objects but the way you interact with the world around you and those objects could produce some fascinating results. The interactivity was fairly deep and detailed.

Totally agree with you about the Wii - highly underrated console, with some truly great games if people care to look. I would have picked most of the ones you list (bang on about the Conduit - the first was great, with a really original story. The second was sadly a generic futuristic FPS. Still fun, but not really a decent sequel to the original. Here's some of my Wii Hidden Gems/Must Buys. The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess. Ok - it's not a hidden gem, and it was available on the GameCube (and now the Wii U). BUT, it's a gorgeous looking game (especially if you're playing it via component cable, or a Wii HDMI adapter), the motion controls work really well, without feeling tacked on. Tonnes to do and explore, with a great story. It's a must own for the Wii. Okami - OK, again, not so much a hidden gem, but this port of the PS2 original looks even better than the PS2 version, and the motion controls just make sense for the gameplay mechanic. Beautiful and unique art style, great story. A bit of a Zelda clone, but that's a good thing. This game will entertain you for days. Also, there's a lovely little sequel - Okamiden - on the DS that's just as good. Red Steel 1 & 2. Red Steel was one of the first Wii 3rd party games - a violent and bloody FPS that mixes swords and guns. Motion control were a little stiff, but it had a good story and was a lot of fun. The sequel fixed pretty much everything that was wrong with the first. Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre - based on the fantastic come strip from the UK's 2000AD (which gave us Judge Dredd), developed by 2000AD owners Rebellion (who also developed Sniper Elite, and four different Alien vs Predator games across the Jaguar, PC, PS3/360 and PSP). Set on the planet Nu Earth, the Norts and Southers are fighting a long and protracted war for control of the planet. To withstand the toxic atmosphere, the Southers create G.I.s - Genetic Infantrymen, who can survive unaided. But when they're wiped out at the Quartz Zone, only one survives. He goes Rogue, vowing to kill the souther General who betrayed his comrades. Added by the salvaged personality chips of three of his dead compatriots, inserted into his gun, helmet and survival pack, you fight your way through enemy territory across desert, arctic wastes, jungles and cities. Upgrade your AI equipment and use their unique abilities to gain the upper hand and strategically take out your enemies, of go in all guns blazing. Rogue Trooper is a fun, solid 3rd person shooter. Resident Evil Four - alright, again, not a hidden gem as such, but the Wii port of this Gamecube title adds widescreen video, and the excellent motion controls make it really enjoyable. Later ported to other console, if you don't have this for your PS3 or PS4, the Wii version is really, REALLY good. Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop - a Wii port of the Xbox 360 game, it's slightly cut down in size but in many ways, that's to this game's advantage. There's not the masses of stuff to distract you, and zombie hordes are a more manageable size. Plus the motion control are again, really well implemented. Goldeneye - the Wii remake of Goldeneye is slightly odd in that it has the Daniel Craig version of 007 (all the other characters are redesigned too), but it's surprising how much it feels like a Daniel Craig Bond movie (I guess the template of Bond stories is pretty flexible in that regard). A truly excellent FPS on the Wii, it looks gorgeous and has fantastic motion controls that make it a really good FPS experience. And if you don't like those, then you're in luck. The game also supports the Classic Controller AND the Gamecube Controller for more traditional FPS control schemes. And it works just as well with those. Dead Space: Extraction. Set shortly before and around events of the original Dead Space on PC/PS3/360, Extraction is a beautifully realised rail shooter. Everything looks pretty much as good as on the more powerful machines, and the motion control scheme means this game is incredibly simple to control, and allows you to blast away. Highly recommended. MadWorld - you're a guy with a chainsaw arm in a brutal "Running Man" style TV show, where you have to kill people to survive. Ideally in the goriest and most violent means possible. Can be a little taxing on the eyes - everything is black and white, except for the prompts (yellow) and the blood (red). And there's a lot of blood. Basically, if there's no blood, you're doing it wrong. Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Developed by WayForward, Brave and the Bold is an insanely fun 2D platform beat-em-up Batman game, and the perfect antidote to the Arkham Asylum series (apart from Lego Batman, that is). Can be a little repetitive, but immense fun nevertheless. Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings - ok, the main game is shit. It's a bad Indiana Jones game. But, hidden within, is a complete unlock able version of the classic Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which is one of the greatest point and click adventure games of all time. And the Wii is the perfect console to implement those games on. Seriously, why the hell Lucasarts and Sierra didn't release compilations of their adventure games on the Wii and DS, I will never understand. That would have been amazing. Metal Slug Anthology. It's the Metal Slug games All of them, pretty much. And they're awesome. Nix Quest - WiiWare. Lovely 2D game where you're a Greek Goddess, attempting to free the other gods. I forget the story. But it's beautiful and really, really good. Lost Winds 1 & 2. Two of the best titles on WiiWare. They good enough to be full releases. Everyone should own them. Castlevania Adventure Rebirth/Contra Rebirth - Both WiiWare. Both excellent reimaginings of two old franchises. Both brilliant. Love the Wii. Between it's catalogue of really excellent first party games, some fantastic 3rd party stuff, great WiiWare titles, and the Virtual Console, the Wii is actually a damn good console with something for everyone on it. If you just want to play great games and aren't so bothered about HD graphics, and CPU power, than the Wii is a really good choice. I'm still buying thise last few WiiWare and Virtual Console titles I want before that service shuts down for good - which I suspect won't be too far away, what with the Switch on the horizon.

its the "retro" console. First platform to have a virtual console for old games. and with its drastically underpowered hardware compared to PS3 and 360, it truely is made for throwback titles or titles that favor gameplay over graphics.

Well, apart from Ghostbusters, Shattered Memories and Tenchu, Obscure II, Muramasa and House of the Dead - Overkill are not Wii exclusives either… Otherwise, you could also mention: A Boy and his Blob, A Shadow's Tale (Lost in Shadow), Beat the Beat - Rhythm Paradise, the Boom Blox games, Calling, Deadly Creatures, the Endless Ocean games, Fragile Dreams, Ju-On, the Marbles games, Mushroom Men, Rodea, Sin & Punishment…

True that, but then, what's the point of making another hidden gems video if every hidden gem is now well known? :p However, it was a good idea to speak about the Crystal Bearers of the Wii version of Ghostbusters. Other good Wii versions of 7G multiplatform titles are Indiana Jones and Prince of Persia.

definitely check out Madworld. That game had incredible combat, ridiculous combos, and a very unique art style, mainly being black and white but blood is red. I also like Okami a lot.

my friend hooked me up with crystal Chronicles for the wii. back when I started collecting it was one of the games that he gave me. I also recommend red steel. it was a fun game that had an interesting story and the motion controls worked for it.

Fragile Dreams by XSEED is another great one to look out for if you are into the horror genre. MANY great titles came out on the Wii that were glossed over due to the gimicky motion control games.

Great list, but I wonder why people don't like to bring up Goldeneye on Wii. I actually loved the control mechanics for that game and the online game play. I rarely hear people talk about it since CoD and MW kind of overshadowed it.

eppskevin well I mean goldeneye is the type of game most people would prefer to play on other consoles with a regular controller. The motion controls were a big turn off for me and many others especially for that game no one I know would wanna play a first person shooter like that.

The Nintendo Wii has one of the more under-rated and under-respected libraries in gaming, honestly. This was the era of the online shooter and graphics whores; they like to think they're the "true hardcore gamers" and Wii was "teh casual"; but truth is the Wii had a ton to offer hardcore gamers, especially in terms of exclusives. It completely trounced the other 2 systems when it comes to exclusives, making it the top must-own individual console of it's generation. And it also won it's generation when it comes to sales & profit. Real hardcore gamers know that how fun and enjoyable a game is counts far more than how good the graphics are.

Great video and I totally agree! I have most of the games on your list but you gave me some good ones I have to track down. The Wii is an amazing system and I definitely not letting mine go. I would also have to add "De Blob 1 & 2", "Deadly Creatures" 'Epic Mickey 1 & 2" and "Mushroom Men". Keep up the great work! BTW I would also have to say the Wii Virtual Console and WiiWare offerings are criminally underrated and you can still buy games for the service now.

One game I recommend is FireEmblem: Radiant Dawn. It’s an strategy Turn based RPG and I find to be underrated, outside of the fandom. It has Great CG cutscenes, a big overarching story(it has its problems though), great OST, and some very interesting gameplay That’s very different from other RPGs. Give it a try.

Muramasa is still awesome. Definitely do a second video. other "hidden gems" I recommend to you and other Wii owners: Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. Mad World Dead Space: Extraction Cursed Mountain Tron: Battle Grounds Red Steel 2 De Blob Fraglie Dreams (this one has shot up in price on ebay for some reason :( ) No More Heroes 1 and especially No More Heroes 2 Okami Wii Edition Guilty Gear XX:Accent Core and/or Accent Core Plus Tatsunoko Vs Capcom and while not exactly "hidden". Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story are amazing games for the Wii.

Muramasa is a dope game. I bought it from ebay a few months ago , can't say it was cheap. Something like 50 bucks. I guess there aren't many copies out there. I played through Kisuke's part of the story, was pretty cool. The one thing that's really amazing in the game are the bossfights. Possibly the best I've ever seen in a 2D game. Will play through the girl's part eventually too for sure.

I had absolutely no interest in the Wii when it was new. I've recently been giving it a shot and being pleasantly surprised by what's on it. First party Nintendo stuff is high quality as always (New Super Mario Bros Wii and Punch-Out!!! in particular), but there are actually a wealth of hidden gems. In general, I really like how light gun games (House of the Dead games, Resident Evil games, Medal of Honor, Ghost Squad, etc.) work on the system. The Dead Space game that was re-imagined as a light gun game was really good.

I have Typing of the Dead: Overkill on Steam which includes House of the Dead, but I really only care for the typing one. I did consider picking up House of the Dead: Overkill on Wii after I got Typing of the Dead, because playing an arcade style shooter with a mouse is boring. So, to see it make your list both amuses me and has put it back on my radar for the Wii version. Zack and Wiki has been in my Amazon Wishlist for a couple years now. The problem is I don't have enough time to play my already massive backlog of great games.

I personally would recommend picking up Muramasa Rebirth over the original if you have the option, it's been retranslated, plus there's 4 additional storylines via DLC that really expands the lore of the world. Also, do you plan on reacting the the new Double Dragon 4 trailer that was released a few days ago???
