I am amazed to hear Koji Kondo play something else than just the SMB theme for the first time =) But since he composed houndreds maybe thousands of songs, I wonder why he never plays random songs like "Paper Mario Toad Town" or " Zelda I Dungeon Theme" or "Twilght Princess Faron Woods" But again I think it's because he is a composer and not necessarily a Pianist.

They played the Donkey Kong Theme in a very nice arrangement. They're good, no doubt about it. But Koji Kondo is always a pleasure hearing him play his own musical creations.

Even if it weren't for Super Mario i think Koji's compositions would still be very popular! Such a great musician! But every time i hear any Super Mario World tunes, takes me back to when i was in 2nd grade coming home to play snes all day!!!

Nop donkey kong is fully the creation of Nintendo, it's a funny fact too, because when microsoft bought Rare(more like the division of microsoft that bought Rare)They went to see Rare and said "So... we can make a Donkey kong game now !" and it was a huge awkward situation when they had to explain to microsoft that they dont own donkey kong rights. Donkey kong and Fox are creation of Miyamoto by the way (not sure of fox but miyamoto is the director of nintendo EAD who created starfox)

Japanese audiences seem so polite. American audiences tend to whoop and holler hearing familiar tunes. However I understand a lot of Japanese composers like that and really do enjoy performing in front of American audiences because of the response and appreciation they get from it.
