Nintendogs championship obedience trial

My dog does an obedience trial with advanced tricks and earns first place. Now, for one of these advanced tricks, specifically the "bunny hop", a dog must know two advanced tricks (beg and "jiggy dance" and must be able to jump. To do the jiggy dance, get your dog to "beg" and then gently lift the paw up until the dog is kind of dancing. Touch the training icon to teach the jiggy dance. After you've taught the dog to jiggy dance, after a while, command it to jump after it does a jiggy dance. If you have trained your dogs well, it will "bunny hop". It's the hardest trick to teach, so have patience. It definitely takes time.
With several advanced tricks being done instead of the traditional tricks AND several advanced tricks at the end, I should have earned at least one 10! Oh well!!

I never could do this! I had this game for like 7 years and my dogs are still beginners..

Yup, had the game since 2007, I still play in 2021 and my dogs have never made it to the Open Class. They listen when at home but when I enter them into the trial they don’t listen.

Yup, but obedience is a lot harder, my dogs never listen. 14 years later all my dogs are still beginners.

How do you get your dog to listen to you? My dog knows shake but I can hardly get him to do it.

The key is patience and persistence. Also make sure you say it the same way EVERY TIME. If you're younger, I find that sometimes Nintendo system has a bit of a hard time distinguishing it, nobody's fault, just seems that's the way it is. Keep trying. You may try lowering the tone of your voice a bit and making it monotone. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try. You can erase shake from her memory and re teach it with the monotone. Oh! One more thing -- you may want to use two or more syllable words or phrases as it might be easier for Nintendo to understand. For example, I say "shake hands"

Hee hee. Thanks. My girls are jealous at how obedient my dogs are. The secret is using that monotone/unexcited voice. I also always make sure the commands are more than one syllable.

Excelarose - oh gosh I wish I could! I unfortunately don’t own any Nintendo DS systems any longer! I actually wrote a book on this and can go and look it up. The tricks you mention are advanced tricks and the simpler tricks must be learned first although the somersault can be learned after playing the waltz record. The dog flips at the end; you just have to tap the mic to give the trick a name.

I've even seen another DS player's dog did a two handstand trick. Who knew! Suddenly I'm feeling like a kid again hahaha. Thank you so much!!

I got into this game as an adult because my daughters loved the game and yes, it is very cute!

I could only ever get as far as the 3rd level because my microphone was terrible so the dogs could never understand what command I was giving them.

Hi! I tried to use two (or more) syllable commands such as “sit down!” “Roll over”, etc said in a monotone to prevent confusion. Let’s see, (obviously a long time since I played!), lie down, jump up, bounce around, back back back (for backflip),shake hands,

All I used was the normal tricks for champion and my Golden retriever pop it off by getting 1st by normal tricks what a shocker

this is from sooo long ago but how do you keep your dog sitting? mine can’t even make it for two seconds much less 15

Zoe P. - by doing it over and over, the time will gradually increase. So just keep giving the “sit down” command. After about five or six times, you’ll see the dog sitting longer. It’s the same for all of the obedience commands. The more you practice them, the longer they’ll stay

Crystal Wallen - actually not long at all but I’m an adult and it may have been easier. Key is to use monotone and say it the same way every time.

Crystal Wallen Crystal Wallen you might want to try a two syllable command such as JUMP UP rather than just jump. As you can see, I used a monotone and said BACK BACK BACK but my commands were more than one syllable like SIT DOWN and SHAKE HANDS. Easier to recognize more syllables I think! Best of luck!

How do u make ur dog hold tricks. My dog had to hold lie down but he couldn’t do it

Just keep doing it over and over and over! Repetition enables them to hold the pose longer! It’s tedious for sure!

@@Rinx. - yes! So when your dogs are at home, just keep repeating it. Lie down! Pet it. It gets up again, “lie down!”…. Just keep doing it and after a lot of times, you’ll notice they’re able to hold the pose longer!
