lets be real here, as timid as joe is, he is still a boxer by trade. I don't want to mess with a boxer in real life. He probably could knock out some people in real life if they made him angry or motivated enough. He's also in over his head against a league where most of the players are technically cheating by real world standards(even mac to a degree because of his star punch). I commend his persistence

If not a parody of how desperate and stircrazy they can get at thier worst. Most of the other abilities are fictional or fantastical but wouldn't/shouldn't be allowed. Even if they did exist in real life.

REAL completionist things that no REGULAR player would do would be like, y'know, collecting 100 feathers. That's not fun! Challenges ARE fun, and many regular players complete them cause it's substantial content that gives them a short but fun challenge to spend a while more playing the game! Getting 100 of some random item is just tedious, especially if some are well hidden, and no player who doesn't care about completing the game would do that.

He could maybe use chocolate bars to heal, and since some of the opponents seem old, maybe doc could battle younger versions of them, but others may not be there because they were too young. Maybe in an ending cutscene Doc would retire and then it’ll show a short bit of him training Mac.

It's kind of a mutual agreement look, not a shifty eyed "Don't trust ya" look.

I like to imagine he did it specifically because, if I remember right Bear Hugger has a special property where body blows immediately end combos against him so the fight encourages you to focus on uppercuts, thus making it so you have to really try to knock him down with a hook.
