[Nioh 1 & 2] Spear Pressure - DotW+9

3 жыл бұрынSpear is still the most fun weapon for me, although it is outclassed in effectiveness by the newer weapons. Whereas fist, splitstaff, and switchglaive dominate humans and yokai alike on their own, spear needs some help from item cancels and yokai abilities to make humans easy and more fun to fight, in my experience. In Nioh 1 spear was very powerful, even against humans, as I attempted to show with an old pressure clip, but in the sequel with buffs to human bosses and nerfs to spear's moveset, it is now in need of some help (spear flourish, wild spear, tornado, body swap, and chidori were all nerfed pretty heavily, and though rainbow ruse and triple threat are great additions, they don't quite fill the gap).
Build is death dancer+versatility+corruption, shown at the end of the Nioh 2 portion of the video.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't know how youtube music copyright works so I just choose old favorites from small labels and hope for the best, but if this game gets pvp and I make videos more often I should look into it, could be cool

Brilliant!! Spear is gradually becoming my favorite weapon, absolutely love that flourish. How does your ki regenerate so fast in the Nioh 2 clips? What is that buff?

Thank you! It's my favorite as well, along with tonfa. I use Ame-no-Mitori guardian spirit, which gives some ki regen, and high courage stat. And the buff is from Ame-no-Uzume grace, which procs every evasion attack. Very good, but you can't get that grace until NG++ I think. I wish they would have made ki regen faster in the beginning of the game, I don't understand why they made it so sluggish. Maybe to teach us to use ki pulses and yokai abilities to regain ki.

Love spear! My favourite weapon. Can you explain to me the two stacking damage buffs you have? One is probably versatility and the other?

Yes, versatility (Susano, +60% at 9 stacks, get a stack for every unique skill that hits) and death dancer (Ame-no-uzume, +70% at 9 stacks, get a stack when hitting after not getting hit for a while, lose stacks when getting hit or blocking -- great with spear).

Thanks- the first hit (ground slam) no longer has that long stun that it had in nioh 1, so they can often hit you between the first hit and later spinny hits:(
